We visited these gardens and absolutely loved walking around looking at all of the native plant life cultivated in this space. It was especially cool to see the fruit and spice trees! After walking through the gardens— ending in the terrace and conservatory with a parrot surprise— we had a delicious lunch of green curry and pineapple fried rice in the Thai restaurant. Really yummy and a great mix of Thai and Caribbean flavors! Overall we had a great time and I’d definitely recommend this for a visit. I would say the gardens take about an hour, could be longer if you sit in one of the inviting benches around the property.

Beautiful place to visit, the majority of the plants are labeled so you know what it is and it doesn’t take long to walk through it. The restaurant is a bit spendy but the food is delicious and the servers are knowledgeable and kind. There are a couple of birds too, if you feel like talking with them.

We visited yesterday and were guided around the gardens by the owner who was charming and knowledgeable.
The area is stocked with many exotic plants from all over the world and is complemented by many sculptures.
We would have liked to stay longer and had lunch to really appreciate the wonderful view from the balcony restaurant.

The $13 price tag was higher than I was expecting to be honest, especially with the map an extra $1. The gardens were nice though. It's a shame that so many of the photogenic statues had big white explanations right next to them that also found their way into the photo as they were so close!
The Thai restaurant was also pricey. I got a very small plate of chicken fried rice, and a tiny beer (275 ml!! where did they even find such a tiny bottle?) for US$20 including tax and tip. The food was delicious, but way expensive.
I had a walk around the store beneath the restaurant (which had the horrible American tradition of not including mandatory tax in the prices), and wasn't acknowledged by the lady daydreaming behind the desk, despite looking right at her.

I was pleasantly surprised how well groomed and taken cared of the Garden was. You pay a slight distance without really seeing/knowing what you may get but it was actually very peaceful walking through with all the colors and plants. There are a few areas you can just sit and enjoy. I love visited Gardens when I travel to see who they differ in their offerings and this one was good.

We have visited Nevis three times and would rate the Botanical Garden as its most compelling attraction. Indeed, we have visited about fifteen Caribbean islands, always seeking out their botanical gardens, and Nevis is by far the most lovely garden we have visited. The Nevis garden is an oasis of tranquility. Lovely ponds, sculpture and excellent interpretation of what has been gathered there from all over the world. Themed overall with an Asian flavour. When you are there the hurly-burly of the world falls away and a kind of calmness sets in -- the whole experience is spiritually cleansing (this sounds a bit flaky, I know, but that's what it amounts to).
Excellent Thai restaurant offers delicious food and great vistas from its balcony. Good gift shop.
Don't miss this piece of heaven.

This is a must see. This is a true labor of love. A variety of botanicals. The grounds are well maintained. A walk through the gardens is like visual meditation. The owner is very personable, welcoming and kind. The gift store/boutique is beautiful with unique gifts reasonably priced one of my favorite stops.

Wonderful garden up in the mountain. Tropical plants mixed with Asian statues. The grounds are not massive, about 30 to 45 mins is sufficient to enjoy the grounds. Nice change from the beautiful beaches of the island.

We took a trip to Nevis from St Kitts, having seen much of what St Kitts has to offer on previous visits.
The island is delightful, and the Botanical Gardens a real treat. We had a fascinating guided tour from the owner followed by refreshing tea in their restaurant.
I could have spent much longer there than we had time for. A perfect way to spend the day if you are lucky enough to get the chance.
Our visit was an arranged tour from a cruise ship. I’m not sure how easy it would be to do independently if limited on time.

We visited the gardens during a three hour island tour. Our guide gave us thirty minutes to explore the grounds, so I felt a bit rushed. The grounds are lush, featuring many different floral varieties. If you have a green thumb, or wish you had a green thumb, the gardens are a must. I wish we had longer to explore and stay for lunch.

We will be in Nevis mid July. Will the restaurant still be closed? If so, does the Bar serve snacks?
Thank you!

Hello,
Thanks to everyone for their answers above.
Although we are normally open year-round, our kitchen was indeed closed for a few weeks this year while the kitchen staff had a much-deserved holiday (May to mid-July) however the bar remained open throughout.
We are now fully open, energized, and ready to welcome our visitors with new tasty dishes and our signature refreshing beverages with Gardens-grown ingredients.
Look forward to seeing you all!

Hello everyone,
Like most attractions the world over, there is an entrance fee to the Gardens. The standard fee for adult visitors is $13US which entitles visitors to most areas of the premises, $8 for children $above 6 to 12 years old. There are also various rates for groups, organized in advance. Fees are for unlimited visit duration within the day.
The Botanical Gardens of Nevis is privately owned and is not subsidized in any way by the Government nor any other entities. Admissions fees are necessary to help defray a small fraction of the costs for labor, water and other utilities, as well as taxes and costs levied to operate as any normal business.
Thank you for your understanding and contributions.

is there a 'site' that gives any info. about the "Bunker House" (underground house) in the garden? That part was extremely interesting, but so far unable to find more info. Someone did tell me that the owner tries to celebrate her birthday there, but little else.
Thank you.

Hello,
The Garden House - also affectionately referred to as The Bunker by some - was the home of the original owner of a smaller version of the current Gardens, though not was not open to the public at that time. It has since then be occupied by the second owners of the Gardens, and is the full time residence of the current owner-family when on Nevis. It is a very interesting and fabulous space.to call home.
Thank you for your interest.
