About
Greg was born and brought up on St. Kitts and Nevis and following his return home from College in Nova Scotia Canada in 1980, started working at his Parents hotel, the Ocean Terrace Inn, with one of his jobs being to do tours for the hotels guests. While growing up on St. Kitts, Greg's parents became leaders in the local Tourism Industry, starting one of the first hotels in the islands, with Greg's Dad, eventually receiving the "Order of the British Empire" (OBE), from the St. Kitts Government for his outstanding achievements in local Industry. This has given Greg a unique grounding as well as a deep sense of understanding for his home country and coupled with his tourism training abroad, has allowed him to become one of leading and longest serving tour guides in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Greg and his team of certified Tour Guides have won many awards from the Tourism Authority for their businesses high standards of service. From the very beginning Greg has used modified, 4X4 Land Rovers to do his "unique" island Safaris with. Being specially made, the 8 Land Rovers he uses today, are all open sided with mostly forward facing, stadium orientated seating, that provide his guests with the best way to experience exploring beyond the shores of St. Kitts and Nevis. Greg's Safaris is the only tour company in the Federation that uses 4X4 Land Rovers for touring on both islands! For your private, half days hiking pleasure, Greg has created two "unique looped hiking trails", one at the Phillips Mountain Valley (2 miles long), and at the other at the Wingfield River Valley (2 1/2 miles long), on St. Kitts. His company is also the only one on St. Kitts to offer driving tours from coast to coast through the lushly forested interior and while traveling through the mountains his guests would have access to a private 5 acre "mountain top property", perched1000 feet sea level, a place of cool temperatures and breathtaking views, that can only be experienced on a "one of kind" 4X4 Safari Tour with him and his guides. Greg is one of the founding members of the St. Christopher National Trust and as well, sits on the Central Forest Reserve National Park Committee. He is also a Life Member of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Brimstone Hill National Park and is also part owner of Sky Safaris, a company he started in 2009.

- Linda HMidlothian, Virginia5 contributionsGreg's Safari TourGreg was amazing and our family highly recommend that you include this adventure during your stay in St. Kitts! He is a 5th year generation gentleman from the island, so his knowledge of the island is so impressive! We had a 4 and half hour tour to Sugar Cane Plantation, Rain Forest with a wonderful prepared picnic of island delights with punch and all on a nice tablecloth with pretty china dishes, on the back of his Range Rover. We saw monkeys, sheep, cows, roosters all roaming freely. He also cared for a donkey that needed water, we fed him and so sweet. The views from the top of one of the mountains was beautiful, looking down to the Atlantic ocean/Caribbean. When the tour was over, he made arrangements for our dinner that evening at his brother's restaurant [Reggae], on the water with seafood cooked over the grill and it was fabulous! Please give him a chance to give you the best tour there is on the island. LindaVisited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 11, 2023
- Henrietta C1 contributionSt Kitts viewed and explained by Greg is a great experience! We had a wonderful time yesterday. The weather was perfect and Greg showed us parts of the countryside that you never get to see. It was very interesting. Greg gave us some local delicacies to taste, delicious! Great home made fruit juice too. I can highly recommend this tour if you wish to see and understand a bit about this country when visiting the island.Visited November 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 27, 2023

- Anna M3 contributionsUnique & memorable experience - you won’t be disappointed! My husband and I went on the safari/beach tour and it ended up being just the two of us. We paid a little extra to meet the tour minimum, but it was worth every penny. Greg was very kind and knowledgeable and took a lot of photos for us. He drove very carefully through the rainforest portion so we could stand up in the vehicle and really take in the views. He really catered the experience to us and exceeded our expectations! Just book it, you won’t be disappointed!!Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 12, 2023

The jeeps take you out into the parts of the island cars will never reach, and whilst driving you are given all the information of where you are and what to see by the knowledgeable drivers. Plenty of photo opportunities. Far more than we expected, St Kitts is a lovely island and I am so glad too have seen it. The tour ends in a nice bar too. Just do it.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 19, 2023
- Alex W1 contributionFantastic Tour of Beautiful Island Of St KittsHad a lovely time. We were lucky enough to be toured around by Greg himself in the safari. Made sure to inform us all about the island of St kitts, the history, the wildlife and the people. Took us to some amazing, unique viewing spots which are only accessible through the tour and are not to be missed overlooking the whole island of St Kitts and as well as St Nevis. An amazing way to explore the island. Would highly recommend with a family. The beach where we relaxed after the tour had warm, calm Caribbean Sea offering a range of activities like Jet Skiing as well as very good food. Enjoyed every minute, the best way to see the beautiful island of St Kitts.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 24, 2023
- Andy & SandraUnited Kingdom11 contributionsFabulous tour of St KittsWhat a fabulous tour with Greg in St Kitts today! I emailed Greg’s Safaris about 6-8 weeks before our trip and he provided lots of information and options for our family of 3 adults and 3 teenagers. We chose a private tour for 3 hours. Greg was there to pick us up at the port and provided chilled water for our journey in his jeep. What a wonderful day! Greg was so informative and knowledgeable and engaged with all of us. We were able to go to off the beaten track into the mountains and had a fabulous picnic of local delicacies including star fruit picked from his own tree and of course some rum! Highly recommend Greg’s Safaris for all ages visiting St Kitts. Highly reliable and communications beforehand, with a check in via email the night before, were outstanding.Visited January 2024Traveled with familyWritten January 3, 2024
- MtlTrvlrMontreal, Canada87 contributionsJeep rides through the jungleThis is an amazing way to get to see the island. They drive you around in safari style range rovers to see the sights of the island. They drive up around 1000 feet in the "rain forest" to get incredible views of the area and volcano. After several other vantage point stops, they took us to a beach so that we could enjoy the sea. Greg and the other guides really enjoy what they are doing and it shows. This was a great experience which I highly recommend.Visited January 2024Traveled with familyWritten January 13, 2024
- Bill FAnnapolis, Maryland6 contributionsSt Kitts & Nevis 4 x 4 Excursion & Beach tourMy wife and I and some friends were part of the Celebrity Cruise ship Silhouette's recent trip to the island back on January7, 2024 for a day excursion up into the mountains and then down to the beach. We had Greg's Safaris booked, and we were fortunate enough to actually have the owner Greg driving us around that day. The trip was fantastic, the tour of the island leading up into the mountain foliage was extraordinary to say the least. We learned so much history from him about the island as we drove along the roads. I believe he mentioned he was 7th generation on the island so the wealth of knowledge and island history is amazing. We highly recommend anyone taking a trip to the island, or traveling on the Celebrity Cruise ships heading for St Kitts to sign up for this off road excursion. The trip was fantastic, the roads were bumpy but not bone jarring leading up into the mountain area, and the walking at some of the locations was not that extreme. The trip down towards Nevis and the beaches is a different route so you can see more of the island culture and history. Please take the time to look him up, and his team... tour the island and enjoy the sights and sounds. St Kitt's is a beautiful island with lovely and charming people. Thank you Greg for a wonderful tour that day... may you have many up blessings headed your way. r/ Bill & Maria FogartyVisited January 2024Traveled with familyWritten January 18, 2024
- Stephen D4 contributionsDon’t miss Greg’s Safari on St. KittsA must do if you are looking for a fun and different experience in St. Kitts. The tour is in an open air Land Rover and cover both town and rain forest. A great mix of local history and floral. Our tour included a picnic with local delicacies and stops at places that are off the beaten track. The time in the rainforest was the highlight! Our guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He made sure everyone had a good time. ( thank you Hugh). I would do the tour again and probably again.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 23, 2024

Greg gave such an eventful tour, not only of the rain forest, but also of the neighborhoods of St. Kitts. His knowledge of the rain forest was exceptional. The scenery was picturesque. His passion for the island was wonderful. If you only do 1 island excursion, this is the one. The cost is very reasonable, worth every penny. We will be back and we do this tour again.

My Wife and I visited St Kitts during a cruise on March 10th 2020. We took Greg's 4x4 tour for the second time because it was just that good! We took Gregs Safari tour back in March 2005 and were so pleased that we wanted to take it again and we are glad we did! Greg is extremely knowledgeable regarding the events, locations, and historical information.
We have told many of out friends and family that if they ever go to St Kitts, look up 4X4 Safari with Greg and you will have a wonderful time. Well, since our first visit in 2005, many of our friends and family have taken Greg's 4X4 Excursion and returned telling us just how wonderful the tour was and that they too will return to St Kitts one day and take Greg's tour again. It was that good!
THAT YOU GREG!!!

Thank you very much Larry and Lani for your kind words about my unique "off the beaten path" 4X4 Tour Service, here on the beautiful Islands of St. Kitts and Nevis.
As you know, we use specially modified high wheel base, 4x4 Land Rover Defenders, unique to our business, that are all equipped with forward facing, tiered seating, offering the ultimate in off road driving fun for every passenger on board.
We operate with 9 Land Rovers and our unique 4x4 Safaris have been in operation since 1989, receiving many awards for excellence over the years from the Ministry of Tourism.
Our special off road tours visit spectacular mountain top properties, old plantation houses, and other private properties as well as government owned historic sugar mills and protected Rainforest trails, all in an effort to create a series of half day tours that will highlight the intriguing heritage and awesome beauty of our Island home, unique to Greg's Safaris!
Thanks again for your review of our award winning tour company here on St. Kitts and we look forward to, once again, touring our spectacular Caribbean Island with you and your friends in the not too distant future.
Stay Safe.

Hugh was our driver/ tour guide and he was AMAZING!! The sweetest and most knowledgeable man. He grew upon the island and knew so much about the local plants and fruits. He would constantly stop the tour in the middle of the road to hop out of the car and show us a unique plant!! He went above and beyond for our family and made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire trip. He set up the coolest picnic in the middle of the rainforest and supplied us with local fruit and drinks. He let us take our time at each stop and would take so many family photos of us. Best tour guide ever! Thanks Hugh.

Hello,
Thank you very much for your kind words about Hugh and our Unique 4x4 Safari!
We are the only tour company on the island that uses specially modified 4x4 Land Rovers to take you through the rain forested mountains of our beautiful Island home, going from Coast To Coast, and visiting properties along the way that are only accessible to our group.
Come enjoy an in depth feel for the Hinterland of our beautiful Island. We very much appreciate you taking the time to give your feedback about our business and hope to welcome you back one day again soon. Best Wishes, Greg P.

Had the pleasure of going on Greg's safari today and it was fabulous.
His knowledge of the geography and history of the island of St Kitts is second to none. He quite simply brought the whole experience alive.
A trip to the island would not be the same without some local knowledge and I would certainly recommend Greg's safaris to enhance that

We loved Greg’s tour! He is incredibly knowledgeable and shared his deep love of St. Kitts and its history and its spectacular flora and fauna. Our family group of 13 rode together with Greg in an open-air Range Rover. He drove us around the island, pointing out many fascinating things, especially the unique trees and flowers. We did this tour as an excursion through Royal Caribbean and there were several other groups behind us, yet we felt like we had a private tour, just our family. It was awesome and the views just breathtaking!!! We stopped for about 10 minutes at an overlook and there we could hold baby monkeys and take pictures for $. Then the tour brought us to a pretty beach where we could hold monkeys again (for less $). Greg gave us the option to stay longer at the beach and we arranged our own taxi back to the pier. It was a wonderful experience and our family really enjoyed the tour! Thank you Greg!!!

We recently booked onto the 4x4 tour of the island through Royal Caribbean - this was by far the best excursion I have EVER done (out of more than 30!). Greg was our guide and he really did live up to his promise of showing us the real St Kitts - things that no other guide will show us. My mother has limited mobility and Greg went above and beyond to check in on her and to accommodate her needs during the day. He is a wealth of information, really personable, and just all round awesome!
I can't wait to visit St Kitts again and take another one of Greg's Safaris' tours!

Thank you very much for giving me such a positive feedback.
The "4x4 Safari and Beach Tour" is available on board cruise ships and is a half days excursion that travels in an open sided Land Rover, from the cruise ships berth, at Port Zante, up to a mountain top property, 1000 feet above sea level. before heading back down again to a beautiful beach bar for a one hour of fun.
I consider myself lucky and privileged to have been able to turn what was at first just a hobby, into a business showcasing our beautiful island home, as a part of our Tourism Trade.
Thank you for your business and for taking the time to let the public know how much you enjoyed experiencing St. Kitts through our eyes.
I look forward to once again touring "off the beaten path", some time soon on board one of my specially modified Land Rover Defenders.

This was a cruise line shore excursion. It was enjoyable but there are important considerations to keep in mind. The first bathroom break is 2.5 hours into the trip. This was distressing for several of the group members. The beach part involved extra costs not included in the original tour fee.

Hello,
Thank you for your feedback as it is important.
There is a bathroom stop on our cruise ships' tour, but granted it is at the beach, and the tour costs does not in fact, include beach chairs or umbrellas at the beach.
I am happy to read that your tour with us was enjoyable, otherwise, thank you.
Kind Regards,

We booked this excursion through Celebrity. We were a little surprised when we saw the transportation as we were expecting a keep with fewer people. The ride through the area was informative but took far too long to get get to the rainforest. Instead of allowing us to take photos of the mango trees, avocado and papaya trees we sped through this area.
Once we arrived to meet up with 2 other trucks there was a nice view of the city and a short trek up to a sugarcane plantation home, to view the countryside. Then back on the truck to get views of government buildings, hospital and monument. We stopped to get photos where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean which was very pretty. There were guy with baby monkeys charging for photos. We found this distasteful. But…. The most disappointing part of this tour was the visit to the beach. We went to a restaurant with a beach behind it. The ladies bathroom was out of order and Greg knew this as it had been out of order for at least 2 days. After driving around on bumpy roads for 2.5 hours there was no where to use the bathroom. We tried to go in the water but it was rocky and slimy. After waiting to get to the beach this is NOT what was expected.
Greg forgot to mention that there were easier ways to enter. He certainly didn’t forget to tell people to eat his friends food. We went back to the ship very dissatisfied customers.
Our driver was knowledgeable but we were forced to listen to him sing throughout the tour. Part of being in the rainforests is to listen to nature not religious songs.

Greg was lovely throughout the trip, he was very informative and kept you updated along the way. He was very passionate about everything he showed and described to us along the way. We saw the different communities, forest area and spectacular views from a private residence area and that of both the Atlantic and Caribbean waters. We had complimentary water at our first stop and had the chance to purchase more food/drink/souvenirs at our second stop. We then made our way to Frigate Bay and stopped at a beach and beach bar. The staff were friendly and accommodating, there was sunbeds and parasols for purchase but we had cocktails and food on the terrace.
Overall it was a great way of exploring the island in 3.5 hours. Would definitely recommend if you’re short on time! ⭐️

We have one adult person in our group that is in a wheelchair (regular chair, not a motorized or larger one that doesn't fold up). Would we be able to take this excursion (we're a party of 11 total) and have a place to fold up her wheelchair? She's paralyzed from the waist down and has full mobility of her arms - we are accustomed to picking her up and putting her in vehicles of all types already. She also has an attachment that is optional that will allow her to drive on the sand. Would this fit? If not, she would just not partake in the beach part of the excursion (or we'll figure something out). Just getting a gauge for whether we should bring the attachment off the ship or not.
Written December 5, 2019
Hello,
Thank you very much for your questions.
Yes if her wheelchair is collapsible, we would have space for it but it must be a fully collapsible wheelchair, as our space is limited ok?
However it is not advisable to bring along the wheelchairs power source as she won’t have to negotiate any sand as such, on our tour, unless of course she goes into the sea.
I hope this is helpful but please don’t hesitate to contact us again if you have any further questions.
Best Wishes,
