All of the reviews for this place were spot on! This is a great place to spend a few hours to the entire day. We got a "Smile Orange" taxi from our cruise port ($7 per person) and went directly to this location. Word is getting out and it is getting popular, so highly recommend getting there when they open at 10 AM. We were some of the first people there and got chairs and a shade ($5 each) toward the west end of the beach. The bar opened immediately and the restaurant opened at 12 PM. The special for the day was jerk pork tacos but their menu is large! The food was unreal! And their prices are extremely reasonable. Huge bar menu with different specialty drinks and beer buckets.
We were there from 10 AM until 3 PM and spent about $90 per couple - multiple rounds of buckets, drinks, and food! They also have a little shop where we got some stickers, hats and t-shirts for souvenirs.
The monkeys and mongoose come down around lunch time/early afternoon and get their fruits and vegetables that the bar feeds them. They are VERY protective of them and you can take as many pictures as you want and get close, but do not touch. The monkeys are actually kind of shy and if you get to close or move too fast they will retreat back.
When we were there the snorkeling wasn't great - saw a flounder and some other fish - but people who go there all the time say that was unusual. Could have just been the currents that day?
There is a nice massage area on the beach next to the bar for $80/hr and I heard the woman was very good!
If you keep the number for your taxi (we did because we liked Smile Orange Taxi) they will call them from the bar for you. Or, you can ask the person in the parking lot to find you one - they come and go all day! Allow yourself 30 minutes to get from there back to the cruise port - don't wait until the last minute. We got back around 3:45 PM an had to be on board at 4:30, so we had a few minutes to shop at the port on the way in.
Also, be patient! This is a beach bar and they literally do every transaction by hand in a ledger. Give yourself 10-15 minutes to wait in line and cash out - everyone is usually leaving at the same time. They take US $ or credit cards, no AMEX (typical for the islands).

This is a nice bar in a lovely little spot overlooking the small beach and sea. Service was slightly slow but the food was worth waiting for - really tasty. A nice spot to grab lunch and chill.

This is a fabulous beach bar on Friars bay was recommended to us to try on a Sunday afternoon for the live music. We were a family group of 12 and arrived around 2.30pm and had time to swim/ snorkel and try the lovely food.
The beach was very short and a few sunbeds. There’s a place to shower off the sand.
Service was quick and we all tried different foods off the menu all good.
The rum cocktails are strong!
By the time the sun went down we were partying with tourists and locals. Had a fantastic memorable time here. Would recommend it.

Amazing place to spend a day at the beach! The staff were amazing and nice. This is a down to earth place to just relax on the shore and take in the beauty of St. Christopher and Nevis. It's not a fancy place which is what makes it so inviting. It's a run of the mill common folk place for you to put your feet up. The food was absolutely awesome with great jerk chicken and local fresh caught fish. Prices were reasonable. The chairs at the beach (some with palm shade!) are free of charge with food or drink purchase. This location is super easy to get to via taxi either from the Marriott or the cruise port. This is an easy do-it-your-self excursion without the expensive markup or cost. We're sad we only went here the last day of our 7 days on St Christopher. We would have been here more often if we had discovered it earlier in our stay. Beach is very swimmable and on the Caribbean side without the seaweed. There is snorkel equipment for rent and a dock that you can swim (or walk!) to.

Fabulous out-of-the-way beach bar right on a small reef. A quick 20-minute taxi ride from the cruise port. Started out with yummy rummy Painkillers and lounging in chaises under a quaint palapa providing just enough shade on the narrow, quiet, black sand beach. The restaurant has probably the best snapper tacos ever! You can rent snorkel equipment for only 10 bucks. Buckets of old beers. Shy wild monkeys come down from the hill (and will LOVE you forever for one banana or apple). Mary and Kim run a great place and we will definitely be back!!

a great local bar restaurant on the beach. We have visited twice, both on a Sunday, when they have live music. The food is good, with large portions, and priced very reasonably. The drink menu is extensive and the price and portion size allows for trying different ones over the course of the evening.
Best part, is the music. The place has a great vibe and you can't help but get up and dance.

Very clean and relaxing place. Quite a bit of shade if you arrive early. Beach chairs are free as long as you buy food or drinks at the Shipwreck Beach Bar. The food and drinks are excellent and reasonably priced. The water is calm and clean. We saw lots of snorkelers but they said there wasn't much to see. We did see a few monkeys.

Came to St Kitts on a cruise. We took a taxi to Shipwreck beach bar. This was our 2nd time to visit this great hidden gem. We bring our snorkeling gear and love to snorkel the reef the runs up the coast line. Shipwreck is so a beautiful and nice relaxing spot. Great food and great drinks. We shall be back.
