- all-inclusive4me08Temecula, California83 contributionsGood experienceWe used Seabridge to get to Nevis since we had a rental car. The posted times are arrival times and a guideline. He could run late for any number of reasons. No reservations, or prepay. You pay when you exit boat, and if a round trip, Captain will give receipt for return trip from either St. Kitts or Nevis. We were a party of four with a car and were charged $140 USD for the round trip. Posted fare is supposed to be $25 per person and $75 for cargo. So based on that, our fare was accurate. The Captain is a little gruff, but you have limited interaction with him. If you say hi and be cordial, he’ll do the same. Overall, good experience. Arrive a little early to make sure you can get your car on the ship. It will hold 6-8 smaller cars but they seem to transfer shipping containers or truck to move them often, thus taking up more space.Visited January 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten January 22, 2020
- Cooltravel58Saint Cloud, Florida17 contributionsNevis Hot Springs and FerryThis review is more about the Nevis Hot Springs but you should take the ferry over to get there. The ferry terminal is about a 15 minute walk from the cruise port. You walk through Basseterre where you experience the local daily life of St Kitts. Ferry’s leave at least hourly most days, you can look up the schedule online. The cost is about $25 round trip per person and takes about 40 minutes. When you get to Nevis you should include a visit to the Hot Springs which is an easy 20 minute walk or take a bus/taxi for $1. If you walk take the main road to the right and stay right at the fork. The old Bath Hotel and springs will be on the right side of the road. Walking will give you a closer look at the daily local life in Nevis. The hot springs are nothing fancy but have a few thermal pool’s each a different temperature ranging from around 104* to 120*. Be sure and visit the small building at the hot springs where the local people will educate you on the springs and the best way to enjoy them. Be sure and rent the small bowl and facecloth from Tiffany to better enjoy the hot therapeutic waters and support the local people. They also sell drinks for your enjoyment. There is only an outhouse on property. Be sure and wear a bathing suit and bring a beach towel!Visited December 2022Traveled with friendsWritten December 31, 2022
- Island_HighlanderLargo, Florida173 contributionsNevis and St. Kitts FerryWe took the ferry from Nevis to St. Kitts for a day trip tour St. Kitts. The trip is very scenic and relaxing. We took the 10:00 trip from Nevis to St. Kitts Cost was $10 U.S. per person plus small port tax. Don't buy roundtrip ticket as you may be taking different ferry on return trip, depending on the time you depart. takes about 45 minutes each way. Charlestown to Basseterre. Sit outside on the upper deck or on the bow and enjoy the views. Usually on time, but if something happens and times lag, just relax. It's island time.Visited November 2017Traveled with familyWritten November 30, 2017
- Tennessee TravelerLascassas, Tennessee60 contributionsFerry to quiet and restful NevisThis is the principal way to get to Nevis where we spent a nice day. Nevis is much quieter and has a stunning garden operated by a family which required a taxi ride from the wharf. There are not a lot of food options here so be prepared for sandwiches. It was a pleasant way to spend the day. Keep in mind that the ferries seem to run when they feel like it. For that reason, don't plan to take the last ferry of the day. The ferries are tiny and typically only take 25-35 riders.Visited February 2020Written February 22, 2020
- dan STerrell, Texas13 contributionsVERY PAINFUL RIDECaused me severe back pain. The trip over to Nevis was pleasant, The return trip was a different boat & different driver. The boat was full of what appeared to labor workers on Nevis, they set us up front of the boat, with no padding & nothing to hold on to! Boat driver was going fast, hit a wave & shot me & my sister about a foot off our seat. as gravity was taking me down the boat hit another wave & the boat slams into our butts. I already had a bad back, this compression shock had me in very much pain, my sister was in pain also. We were asking him to slow down & he ignored our pleading & pain. I have had back surgery, i know pain this was a #9! i would never ride that water Taxi again. DO NOT SET UP FRONTVisited June 2022Written June 23, 2022

- swr96 contributionsFerry from St Kitts to NevisWe checked on the ferry schedule which is posted at the terminal in Basseterre, walking distance from Porte Zante. There is parking right out front. It is also posted on the website, with many names of ferries, often leaving every hour. We chose the passenger ferry, not the car ferry and rented a car for a week on each island separately. We like to travel by ferry as you can transport extra food items and they do not limit the carry on. The waiting room is very clean and air conditioned. The ferry departed on time, had comfortable seats and was an easy ride of less than an hour. Arrival in Nevis terminal is downtown Charlestown, with taxi drivers available. There is no waiting room in Nevis, just a covered area for shade or the rain and benches outside. The cost is $10 US one way. It would not be good to get a round trip ticket as you many not be returning on the ferry with the same name. We chose not to use the Seabridge car ferry that departs from the far south end of St Kitts and arrives in Nevis away from any town. It is not known to be on time and if a car is rented on one island and there is a problem on the next island, there may not be a company office nearby, and no one to help you solve the car's problem. The other option is to take a boat taxi from the south of St Kitts at Reggae Beach that can take you to Oualie Beach and arrange for a car rental or taxi there in advance. The cost of the taxi to the south end of St Kitts ($30) plus the boat taxi ($20-30 depending on many circumstances) and then taxi from Oualie to your destination makes the $10 ferry appear as the bargain that it is!Visited January 2018Traveled as a coupleWritten February 11, 2018
- Team_Parr4 contributionsSeaBridge Car Ferry Prices Exorbitant-RipOff!I researched the SeaBridge car ferry from Majors Bay, St Kitts to Cades Bay, Nevis for our recent trip. A couple of websites indicated prices of about $150ECD (approx $56USD) round trip for vehicle and 1 passenger then about $20ECD/$8USD for additional passengers. Seemed reasonable since we had a rental car. Prices are not otherwise posted at the ferry terminal or anywhere else I could find online. Imagine my surprise when preparing to depart the ferry at Nevis and the captain said my fare was $575ECD! Having no recourse and wanting to return to St Kitts later in the day, I paid. Contact with the tourism authorities and the company led to an explanation essentially saying "the fares were raised in 2016, glad you enjoyed your trip." And I guess the tourism sites (explorenevis.com is one of the sites I used to check fares) are ok with local businesses price gouging tourists for the local economy as they did nothing. Probably cheaper to take a passenger ferry to and from St Kitts and Nevis and taking taxis or renting a different car for the day rather than ferrying over. Beware.Visited July 2017Traveled with familyWritten July 12, 2017
- colsgfArizona City, Arizona45 contributionsAVOID THIS FERRY IF YOU ARE A TOURIST ~~!!!!!!!Boarded the ferry without being asked to pay (Mistake #1). On disembarking from Nevis, Captain says 250 EC $. We disputed saying the website and brochure (showed him) says much less - he says "that information is 11 years old". Then he says $125 USD - even with the current exchange rate 250EC should be $91 USD. Finally coughed over $100 USD. This price should be about $56 USD roundtrip. AVOID this service - unless you PAY UPFRONT BEFORE boarding this ferry ~!!!! Do you really think a local Kittian or Nevisian can afford $100 USD for this ferry service? - Amy H10 contributionsTourists Beware: DO NOT VISITTourism in St. Kitts & Nevis will never take off with a crook running their main ferry system. My family of six saw in their website that the ferry would cost $94 USD roundtrip for all of us and our car. Luckily, we walked up to the captain before loading our car. As one of the crew members were trying to corral our car onto the ferry so we couldn’t leave, the captain shared that it would be $230 USD “roundtrip”. Another set of travelers on the island told us that the captain will charge more when you try to come back to St. Kitts, insisting you only paid one-way. So instead of $94 USD, he’s pocketing $500+ USD. Captain says prices on his own website are not his and his word is final. Locals say the government refuses to step in to fix this issue, so it’s just sad. Needless to say, we decided to pass on visiting Nevis because of this. I feel bad for Nevisians whose economy will tank because tourists cannot safely and securely go from island to island with the crew currently running this ferry.Visited July 2022Written July 8, 2022

There are several ways to travel by ferry between St Kitts and Nevis. Most of them are punctual and a fair price - and offer a good local experience. The one I would not recommend is the Sea bridge ferry. The operator has always had little respect for his customers and routinely runs very late - and does not care whether you wait a long time for the ferry arrival, or once your vehicle is on the vessel that you wait whilst he goes off to do something else. Now he has added arbitrary pricing. He does not advertise a certain price for a certain size vehicle. As he approaches your vehicle to collect the fare he sizes up the driver and charges what he wishes on a whim.
Meanwhile, there are well-run and punctual sea taxis offering a service between the islands.

Traveled on the Seabridge Ferry yesterday with our car. Apparently the captain charges whatever he desires. We paid $175 roundtrip US! We are furious to learn that others paid $100. That is terrible for St. Kitts tourism. We are truly loving this island but beware of the captain, he's a shady one. We also waited an hour for him to show up Friday night to leave. Another couple told us they waited nearly 2 hours on Wednesday for him to finish playing dominos before he pulled out.

As previously stated this MF, Waits until you get over to Nevis and charge twice the expected rate. My family of 5 (including driver) should have cost 290EC according to our rental company 190EC for Vehicle and driver plus 25EC per additional passenger which was an increase from any advertised rate. As we get ready to depart the ferry with 300EC in hand this sorry sack of excuse for Sea CAPT say the cost is 590EC. When confronted with the price difference he states how can someone on the outside tell us what his rates should be. If you look like a tourist (My Opinion) you are going to be screwed. My suggestion is to rent a vehicle were you leave in St Kitts and get another Rental in Nevis. On Top of this this MF has no clue about a route schedule (I'm familiar with Island Time but DAMN) showing up 45mins+ late..

hello, heading to Nevis, last week of August 2017. I am flying into St Kitts. I was planning on renting a car at St Kitts airport as I have alot of luggage with me (taking it and leaving it in Nevis where my daughter is attending school).
Can someone update me on Sea Bridge costs... can you book ahead of time?
I planned on a car from the airport in St Kitts and taking it over to Nevis due to the amount of luggage I have. Would it be worth the aggravation to drag around all of my luggage and use cabs to get to the passenger ferry and then rent a car in Nevis ?

I did not take the sea bridge. I took the public ferry...out of Basseterre ($20 per person). Price out car rental vs taxi. I used a taxi for the whole time on St. Kitts and on Nevis. Contact Tatum's Taxi. He is the best to work with and takes Visa and MasterCard as well. Most taxis do not. Tatum does not charge a per bag cost either. He has spent his whole live in St. Kitts and knows everthing.
