We didn't know about Brac Shack or we certainly would have gone boat diving with them. Instead we went with a bigger operation that had too many people and too many boats. But we did do shore diving using Brac Shack tanks, etc. and their expertise in where to go and other interactions. We found them very knowledgeable with a great ecological awareness of the area.
Shore diving on the north side was easy - especially if you go to Lynn's Reef or Radar Reef where there are rarely used boat ramps to get in/out.
I would highly recommend using Brac Shack for boat diving if you can.

This dive operator was truly exceptional, they provide such respectful and friendly service from your first hello to the last goodbye. Informative crew that guided us in the water and took care of the gear on board. The reefs were in good shape, water was clean and clear and the boats were comfortable. Thanks for some great dive experiences, we went to a new locale on each dive.

As a novice diver (second dive vacation) I thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Brac Scuba Shack! From the beginning and arranging the dives with Liesel to the actual dives everything was easy, professional and well managed. The boats are pristine and have very easy entry and exit with benches on the swim platform and a good ladder. As a valet dive shop I just sat on the bench and they brought my gear and helped me into it to make entering the water very simple for an old lady of 76. Nico was so attentive and helpful during the refresher course and my first 2 trips after 5 years that I never felt that I would have an issue but could just enjoy the dive. He spent time to make sure my weights were right and to give me helpful instruction to make my first dives back a good experience while guiding us on a great site. Our boat captain Harvey on the first two trips also gave us a good dive and was quite expert at getting the boat back in the channel during some very challenging wave action. Better than a ride at the fair! Later in the week Brad was a great dive master, very knowledgeable, and was able to fix a leak in my BCD while being personable and showing us a great dive site. We also enjoyed Ragnar’s dive and boat captaining. We were referred to Brac Scuba Shack by a friend because of their small groups (since slow season only had a couple of other divers and one trip just my husband and I), and good dive boats and professional and knowledgeable crew and it didn’t disappoint. We highly recommend them if you are diving Cayman Brac with its beautiful and unspoiled reefs.

Zeus greeted us every day, and Liesell efficiently and courteously gathered our empties and fulfilled our tank orders. We rarely had to wait around the shop for anything. The shop had all the things we forgot and some nice logo rash guards. The boat crew politely invited us onboard, helped us safely don our gear, and expertly guided us around our chosen spots. The best boat dive I have ever taken, hands down. I not only highly recommend the Brac SCUBA Shack, but I am also going back. The service is above and beyond my expectations.

The staff at Brac Scuba Shack are great. From Liesel in the office to the captains and dive masters. It was windy but the captains always found a site that was drivable. You just had to sit on the bench at the dive platform and the crew brought your tank to you and helped you into your gear. Just stand up and step off. Once in the water a member of the crew guided the divers around the site pointing out things of interest. After the tour you were free to explore on your own. Back on the boat just sit on the bench again and they helped you out of your gear and swapped out the tank for the next dive. Very safety aware. Everybody did a 20' safety stop and they had a regulator at 20' in case you stayed too long on the reef and ran your tank below 500 psi.

The dive crew was amazing and made our first Cayman diving experience incredible! They are a family and make you feel apart of their family, culture, and team. Highly recommend booking your dive trip through this ‘small town,’ ‘hidden gem/hole in the wall’ dive crew.

We had a great time diving with the Brac Scuba Shack. We have been to Cayman Brac many times but this was our first time diving with these folks. We could not have asked for any better service. They took care of everything. The windy conditions prevented the boat dive one day so we did shore dives on the northern side of the island. The shore dives was just as exceptional as the boat dives. This was my grandson’s first ocean dives. The divemasters and crew made it an experience that they will always remember

We went on a dive with Harvey as the captain and Steiner as the ast. We went out on a day with high winds (15-18 knots), choppy waters and strong current. We were novices: told everyone on the boat, in the office and spoke with both Harvey and Steiner about this.
Turns out they went to the best of the worst dive sites that day. There was no good place to dive, but we went in anyways. Right away our guestimated weights was way off - we had to swim hard, pull our way back to the boat with their rope to get weighted down and even that was barely enough.
Once in, we saw the group at first, but they were very deep and there was no way we could get caught up to them. Harvey, the Captin and our group leader that day, was no where to be found. He was very irresponsible and we wouldn't trust him on another dive again. We went again on another dive with Brad, and he was MUCH better. Steiner was on that dive too and did a great job.
In the end, we drifted off, needed to be rescued and sought medical attention. Turns out, another boat chose that same area during the exact same time that day and they also had a drifting medical emergency. It was a poor choice to go out diving that day - they cancelled the dives for the following day which had the same conditions, which was a smart move.
The owner did everything she could to make it right for us, which was greatly appreciated. She comped our dives, got us medical attention when we needed it and checked in on us. She made sure the second dive was much better than the other without fail.
Dive shops are at a minimum on the Brac: know that the currents here can be dangerous. Research well ahead of time, talk with them about what you can / cannot do and hopefully it'll work out well for you.

This dive company was the best I’ve ever dove with. Professionalism, Saftey, and valet service.
Brad the captain and his crew insured that every dive was out of this world. Saftey was always on their priority list. They brought us out to some of the best sites on cayman brac. We will definitely be back.

Great little shop, and they went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed every moment. We were restricted to shore-dives, as the whole island had it's boats out of the water due to CoVid staff restrictions and Hurricane Season, never the less they gave us great dive briefings on the sites that we were interested in diving. (We're both comfortable divers, and enjoy doing our own thing and exploring, so the fact that we were self guiding was actually a huge plus for us)
Each time we came in, there were great suggestions for our next adventure.
GREAT local knowledge

I'm staying on Grand Cayman Brac. Do you have tours for Snorkeling ?
Written August 17, 2018
Had a quick one day trip to the Brac and saw the Elders of Atlantis works of art/ sculptures on the side.of the road. We were wondering why they were taken out of the water and are there Plans to put them back?
Thanks,
Deb

Hello Deb,
The status weren't taken out, the guy who was making them just never put them in place. Not sure if he ever will.

Do they serve Brac Reef Beach Resort and Carib Sands? Do the boats pick you up at your resort/condo? At the end of the day, do you take your gear with you off the boat, or do they take it and rinse it, etc.? Thanks.
Written July 23, 2015
They leave from Carib Sands dock and return there after the dives, all your gear is taken care of and they rince it. Pick ups are arranged for Brac Reef but it is more convenient at Carib Sands

Do you do Little Cayman trips?
Written April 3, 2015
Good Morning and thank you for your enquiry. We do a 2-tank dive in Little Cayman if the weather permits and everyone on the boat agrees to pay the US $40.00 per person fuel surcharge.
Kind regards
