Neat little spot with shaded parking. Snorkeled right off the beach & then walked a way down toward the busier areas. Beautiful sand!

Gorgeous beach with turquoise crystal water and white sand. The only drawbacks are there are no chair rentals and no bathroom. I think there was a porta potty. As far as beaches go though, this one was the prettiest we visited on the island. Also,...More

This is a really nice beach for playing in the water. We are told it is good for snorkeling, but the wind was high when we were there, making visibility very poor. Nonetheless, we had a nice time swimming with about a dozen other people...More

The beach is situated in a beautiful location, but the facilities are abysmal. The beach was someone crowded during our visit. Showers would be great!

It varies, the closer you get to town it gets busier and around some of the low rent accommodations it can be a bit scary with clientele then around big resorts like ritz and westin it is crazy busy with familes and then other parts...More

This beach was walkable from our condo- you have to go to the right spot to be over the coral- a little bit of a swim but the fish activity is great- saw a ray, squid, lobsters and lots of fish

This is where local families gather on a Sunday afternoon for fun in the water and an evening BBQ. No public toilets or showers which is the reason it doesn't get 5 stars

We loved Governor's Beach and know where we will be spending a day on our next visit to the Cayman Islands! The sand is pristine white and the sea is beautifully turquoise - perfect. Set behind the Governor's residence, it's a great secluded spot. Easily...More

Same many colorful fish here - crowded later go before 10 am. Taking travel chairs would prolong visit there.

Stopped here at end of day to snorkel, it was some of the best with caverns and lots of marine life, not a lot of parking though.

Smith Cove was the only beach area with a public restroom, as I recall. Even when traipsing about in Georgetown, it was difficult finding any public bathrooms, even when purchasing anything. That being said, proprietors will... More
