We booked Six Senses for the early bird and the bioluminescent bay tours. Both were absolutely fantastic. The staff was engaging and informative. Everything for both tours went as advertised. I would HIGHLY recommend them for either tour. If you are interested in Stingray City (and you should be!) the early bird tour is the way to go. We were the second boat out there and had unrestricted access to these magnificent creatures. As we motored over to starfish point, we could see at least 6 (maybe more) boats with more on the way. I’m convinced we had a much better experience. Finally, the bioluminescent bay tour was simply amazing. Words fail, so I won’t try...just do it! Worth. Every. Penny. Thanks again to Chris, Rodney, and Paul for an experience my family will not forget.

My husband and I took the Early Bird Tour and had a great time. I can't recommend it highly enough. First let me say that I am so glad we chose Six Senses over other tour outfits. The number of people allowed on the Six Senses tour was limited to 17 people, which was perfect. We passed other tour boats that were so jam-packed with people it's a wonder they didn't capsize. This tour was timed so that we arrived at Stingray City before the crowds from the cruise ships got there.
Paul, the owner, was great about communicating when we needed to change the date of our tour. Our tour guides, Chris and Rodney, were good-natured and knowledgeable. They really made the trip fun, and my husband will never forget being taught by Rodney how to properly feed and hold a stingray in his arms. I liked the variety of standing among the stingrays at Stingray City, then snorkeling over a reef, then wading with the starfish at a third location. If we find ourself in Grand Cayman again, we will definitely book another tour with them.

We did the early bird tour with Six Senses and LOVED it! The guides were entertaining and knowledgeable, the boat was small and not packed with people like the other boats we saw on the water, and because of this we felt we had a better interaction with the sting rays and starfish.
I'm a diver so don't often snorkel, but was really impressed with the snorkeling on this trip, so many fish!
I totally recommend this tour, going early beats the plethora of boats and people that flood stingray city and starfish point.
I highly recommend Six Senses and will definitely use them again.

We booked the afternoon tour and had an amazing time. Chris and Rodney were informative and all around fun to spend the afternoon with. This tour does not cater to cruise ships which is a good thing. The afternoon tour was perfect due to the fact that stingray city and starfish point were not that crowded. The smaller boat experience was perfect for us as my husband was a bit apprehensive about getting in the water with the rays. Chris and Rodney explain how the rays just want some pets and of course snacks. This is probably the most reasonably priced stingray city tour on the island. Book with six senses and you won't be disappointed. They offer free shuttle from the resorts which worked out great for us.

We took the Bioluminescent Bay tour and the ECO tour with Six Senses during our week long stay in Grand Cayman. I chose Six Senses because they advertised that they purposely avoid the crowds from the cruise ships and because their prices were very reasonable. Paul the owner, was very responsive on email and we worked back and forth to find a day that worked for the Bio-Bay tour and the ECO tour. Our captain, Paul, and 1st mate, Rodney, took us (14 total passengers) speeding across the bay on a comfortable pontoon boat. We all had to put on black scuba skin suits to make the bioluminescent experience better. It also provided a little warmth though that wasn't needed because the water was wonderful. We were provided snorkeling gear and were allowed to stay in the water as long as we wanted. It was fun swimming through the tunnels under the boat for the darkest spots. Once back in the boat, water was available. For the folks that didn't want to get in the water, they brought up buckets of water and let those people put their faces in the bucket so they could see the sparkles of light.
For the ECO tour, we had booked on the last day of our vacation. Even though we were the only group that signed up for that day, they went ahead and took us out. It was a private tour for the price of a group tour. We again had Paul and Rodney as our crew. They showed us the protected mangrove area and explained it's purpose along with a demonstration of other creatures in the bay. We went through there slowly and got to see starfish and even a baby shark. Then it was on to Starfish Point where we got to jump out into the water to see the bright red starfish up close. We stopped for a quick lunch and then headed off to snorkel along the barrier reef. Since we were in the pontoon boat we were able to get very close to the reef and only had to swim a short way. Then it was over to Stingray City. Paul and Rodney both jumped in the water for this special treat. They brought some squid into the water to attract the stingrays over to our boat. They showed us how to feed the rays and how to gently hold them in the water. Rodney recognized one ray as Black Beauty, an older ray that they said had lost her barb to a shark. It was a true amazing experience to mingle with these wild but gentle creatures. Rodney even dove down and found a live conch to show us. Once we all had our fill of Stingray City it was back toward the docks and a short stroll through a canal with huge mansions. We came back in right at the 5 hour mark even though they put no time restrictions on us the whole day. I would use them anytime I go back to Cayman.

We appreciated the tip from both the Six Senses website and our property manager regarding taking the Early Bird tour to avoid competing with the high volume of people from cruise ship excursions. They picked us up and dropped us off right at our condo, so no need to figure out where to go. We only had 8 people on our boat (they can take up to 17) so that made the experience even better. Tour guides Rodney and Chris were excellent...they provided great tips while swimming with the stingray at Stingray City, held on to the stingray while we fed them, helped us figure out how to snorkel (it was our first time), found some starfish for us during that stop (they were only a few when we arrived) and made us feel very comfortable during the entire 3 hours. We loved this excursion with Six Senses and would definitely do it again.

The captain and crew of six senses are the real deal. They took us to the best snorkeling and ray viewing areas in Cayman. The boat was meticulous, the crew was extremely friendly and helpful and the captain has a great demeanor. I would recommend this trip for everyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful waters of the Cayman Islands.

We visited 5 places on the afternoon tour. Casey and Rodney made a good team for everything we did- informative, amusing and accomadating! When we called, we planned on a tour later in the week but since the tour for that day wasnt full they offered us a discount. Our tour group only had 8 people, but they are set up for about 16-20. We stopped at the mangroves and got some island history (cool stories!) as well as the ecology of the mangroves. Then on to see Starfish on a shallow white sand beach. You can hold them. Next we went to Rum Point for lunch/ drinks or snacks, whatever you wanted on your own. Then on to snorkel at the Coral Garden. They provided equipment. It was beautiful! So many fish and pretty coral! Last was Stingray City. which is located in the bay on a sandbar. They provided squid to feed the rays and got in the water to show us how to interact with them. The rays are very gentle. Very cool! The boat tour was the highlight of our trip! No bathroom on boat so use facilities when you can.

My family (husband and kids 7 and 10) and I took the Bio Bay boat and swimming tour. We weren’t really sure what to expect other than what our hotel concierge told us. Overall what we saw was very cool. The water was much warmer than I was expecting and the bioluminescent organisms were magical! We were given masks and snorkels, that I definitely felt had been thoroughly cleaned, and a “noodle” to help float. We were also given swim skins, not to be confused with a thicker wet suit.
I have read a few other comments about the boat itself. For a night tour we had no problems with it. We felt safe and it was not crowded at all.
The reason for the lower review is because the boat driver and main tour guide was so extremely impersonal and flat out rude. He continually yelled and snapped at everyone on the boat. He went over the rules. Everyone was very obedient. I truly did not understand the need to be so snippy, impatient and just unkind. He very flatly gave a brief history of the bay while we waited for the darkness to come. My husband asked a question (trying to help the guy fill the time) and he basically insinuated that is was a stupid question. Later we were all in a line waiting to get in the water. Truly the few families on our boat were great. No one was in a rush. Everyone was excited to see the ones in front get into the water. Our family was last. My husband went first so he could help the kids before I followed up the rear. He was taking his time to get in so he didn’t hit any of the other kids or adults already in and around the ladder. Our captain yelled at him to hurry up he had a line of people waiting. He said sorry I just want to be careful and my kids can be patient-and he was snapped at again to “just get in already”.
It made a very cool, once in a lifetime, experience feel stressed. My kids were already feeling anxious about swimming in the dark, and really felt uneasy after their dad was yelled at.

You go to the mangroves snd visit three different types of mangrove and how they influence the environment. Very enlightening. Then to Star Fish point snd see large bright red starfish, then stingray sand bar snd learn inside story of stingrays, and then the barrier reef . Excellent educational adventure. Paul Deegan of Six Senses is the best!

Hello! If you need prescription goggles I would recommend ordering a nice pair for your travels, this way you always have them as most tour companies don't offer goggles with prescriptions.

We are coming by the cruise ship. Do you come to pick us up?
Anthony
Written March 13, 2017
Sorry Anthony. Our tours don't cater to the cruise ships customers. They are specifically designed to avoid the large cruise ship crowds at Stingray City. The only way we offer the tour is as a private charter option only when you block book the whole boat for yourself. Cost is $1500us for the six hours. Alternatively try Acquarius Sea Tours. You can google them. They deal with cruisers and also do pick ups from the Dock. Paul Six Senses
