We took the Bioluminescent Bay tour and the ECO tour with Six Senses during our week long stay in Grand Cayman. I chose Six Senses because they advertised that they purposely avoid the crowds from the cruise ships and because their prices were very reasonable. Paul the owner, was very responsive on email and we worked back and forth to find a day that worked for the Bio-Bay tour and the ECO tour. Our captain, Paul, and 1st mate, Rodney, took us (14 total passengers) speeding across the bay on a comfortable pontoon boat. We all had to put on black scuba skin suits to make the bioluminescent experience better. It also provided a little warmth though that wasn't needed because the water was wonderful. We were provided snorkeling gear and were allowed to stay in the water as long as we wanted. It was fun swimming through the tunnels under the boat for the darkest spots. Once back in the boat, water was available. For the folks that didn't want to get in the water, they brought up buckets of water and let those people put their faces in the bucket so they could see the sparkles of light.
For the ECO tour, we had booked on the last day of our vacation. Even though we were the only group that signed up for that day, they went ahead and took us out. It was a private tour for the price of a group tour. We again had Paul and Rodney as our crew. They showed us the protected mangrove area and explained it's purpose along with a demonstration of other creatures in the bay. We went through there slowly and got to see starfish and even a baby shark. Then it was on to Starfish Point where we got to jump out into the water to see the bright red starfish up close. We stopped for a quick lunch and then headed off to snorkel along the barrier reef. Since we were in the pontoon boat we were able to get very close to the reef and only had to swim a short way. Then it was over to Stingray City. Paul and Rodney both jumped in the water for this special treat. They brought some squid into the water to attract the stingrays over to our boat. They showed us how to feed the rays and how to gently hold them in the water. Rodney recognized one ray as Black Beauty, an older ray that they said had lost her barb to a shark. It was a true amazing experience to mingle with these wild but gentle creatures. Rodney even dove down and found a live conch to show us. Once we all had our fill of Stingray City it was back toward the docks and a short stroll through a canal with huge mansions. We came back in right at the 5 hour mark even though they put no time restrictions on us the whole day. I would use them anytime I go back to Cayman.

We did the bioluminescent bay boat tour last night and it was just an absolutely amazing experience!! Murphy and his crew were so personable, explained everything so well, even helped me with my camera settings and with taking pics and videos to capture it as best as we could. My husband and I and our 2 kids loved it! Really liked that they picked us up at our hotel and was just a short van ride to the marina, and we spent most of the ride to the bay in the boat at sunset instead of in a car across the island. We loved it so much that we decided to cancel our existing reservation to Stingray City with another company and booked the eco tour with them as well for later this week to see that and 5 other awesome stops, can’t wait!

We recently went on the Eco tour. One of the reasons we went with Six Senses is the limited number of guests. We had only 8 on our tour so it felt much more personal than other tours we have be on. Paul was a great guide. His genuine enthusiasm for the mangroves and other aspects of Grand Cayman made the tour very special. We learned a great deal and now have a new respect for the natural surroundings of the island. We enjoyed our time at Starfish Point and were glad we went on a day where there were no cruise ships. The highlight for us was Stingray City. Rodney (Paul's assistant) was funny and very personable. He took pictures for us which we truly appreciated. Going to Stingray City in the later afternoon meant it was not as crowded which was a definite plus. Another great aspect we appreciated of Six Senses is how quickly Paul answered emails. It is such an important component when planning a trip and one that many tour companies do not do well. Thank you, Paul and Rodney for a great tour!

My family (husband and kids 7 and 10) and I took the Bio Bay boat and swimming tour. We weren’t really sure what to expect other than what our hotel concierge told us. Overall what we saw was very cool. The water was much warmer than I was expecting and the bioluminescent organisms were magical! We were given masks and snorkels, that I definitely felt had been thoroughly cleaned, and a “noodle” to help float. We were also given swim skins, not to be confused with a thicker wet suit.

I have read a few other comments about the boat itself. For a night tour we had no problems with it. We felt safe and it was not crowded at all.

The reason for the lower review is because the boat driver and main tour guide was so extremely impersonal and flat out rude. He continually yelled and snapped at everyone on the boat. He went over the rules. Everyone was very obedient. I truly did not understand the need to be so snippy, impatient and just unkind. He very flatly gave a brief history of the bay while we waited for the darkness to come. My husband asked a question (trying to help the guy fill the time) and he basically insinuated that is was a stupid question. Later we were all in a line waiting to get in the water. Truly the few families on our boat were great. No one was in a rush. Everyone was excited to see the ones in front get into the water. Our family was last. My husband went first so he could help the kids before I followed up the rear. He was taking his time to get in so he didn’t hit any of the other kids or adults already in and around the ladder. Our captain yelled at him to hurry up he had a line of people waiting. He said sorry I just want to be careful and my kids can be patient-and he was snapped at again to “just get in already”.

It made a very cool, once in a lifetime, experience feel stressed. My kids were already feeling anxious about swimming in the dark, and really felt uneasy after their dad was yelled at.

We did the eco tour which is a six stop tour. Paul and his team were fantastic, knowledgeable hosts providing a lot of information about the island, its’ vegetation and marine life. Paul knew what time to arrive at locations to avoid the crowds from the cruise ships and was flexible, offering to stay longer at a stop if needed or moving on when we were ready. The trip was 5 hours but Paul was happy for it to be longer if we wanted it to be. He was informative and entertaining communicating with the guests at all levels. Unlike some this was a reasonably priced trip that took us to all the top sites. We would certainly recommend it.

I had a great excursion doing the bioluminescence night swim. This was very cost-effective not overly expensive like some of the other bioluminescent tours, and the owner of the company was awesome and he told us so much about the country and all the things happening on 7 mile beach and the bioluminescence swim was amazing. It is a must do!

By the far the best choice we made! Six Senses Cayman Adventures was recommended by Botanica where we were staying and we would do it all over again. Paul (the owner) and Rodney were extremely passionate about making sure we had the best time possible and it was an experience we will never forget! We did the Eco Tour which hit the top tourist spots, but they made sure we hit these spots after all the cruise ship tourists had left which made it feel more intimate. Snorkeling on the reef was our favorite stop and we saw more marine life than we saw on any of our scuba dive trips the same week. We also did the Bio Bay Boat Tour which was a once in a lifetime experience and have some pretty cool pictures to show for it. All in all, highly recommend Paul and his crew and we will be visiting them for more tours when we visit Cayman in the future!

Paul & Rodney offered an educational & relaxing voyage beginning with a tour and explanation of the importance of the mangroves. Next stop - starfish Island where you can handle starfish. An hour Lunch stop at Kaibo Yacht Club (delicious) on Rum Point. The big finale was snorkeling near on the barrier reef (snorkeling equipment provided) where you see an array of brightly colored fishes and sea plants and then Stingray city - a sandbar where these beautiful, gentle creatures await b/c they know you will feed them. They are like domesticated water cats!
The trip takes you across the crystal blue waters (ably a 20 min trip). Book this trip! It’s a beautiful way to enjoy the Cayman island nature and environment.

We did the bioluminescence tour. We had a blast. This is a great company to use for the tour. I wish we had used them for the Stingray City / Starfish tour we did a few days ago, but we had scheduled that tour well in advance.

Six Senses pricing is great compared to the others.

Paul, the owner, was extremely helpful from the start. Our first tour got canceled due to weather. Paul made sure to get us on the next available tour, which happened to be the night before we left the island. That was much appreciated because we would have otherwise lost the opportunity.

The tour was great. They picked us up from the hotel. They supplied us with skin suites and snorkels, etc. The guides went above and beyond with our kids. Our 6 yr old got cold in the water and got out 2 min after getting in. They took care of her; toweled her off and watched her on the boat so we could keep swimming. Then our 9 yr old wanted to get out. They also took care of her on the boat. The guides (Paul and Rodney) made sure my wife and I got to enjoy the experience.

I can't see enough good things about them. Please use this company for as many tours as you can. Really great company!

We booked Six Senses for the early bird and the bioluminescent bay tours. Both were absolutely fantastic. The staff was engaging and informative. Everything for both tours went as advertised. I would HIGHLY recommend them for either tour. If you are interested in Stingray City (and you should be!) the early bird tour is the way to go. We were the second boat out there and had unrestricted access to these magnificent creatures. As we motored over to starfish point, we could see at least 6 (maybe more) boats with more on the way. I’m convinced we had a much better experience. Finally, the bioluminescent bay tour was simply amazing. Words fail, so I won’t try...just do it! Worth. Every. Penny. Thanks again to Chris, Rodney, and Paul for an experience my family will not forget.
