What a fantastic experience! The boat was not so fancy but WOW such people in the crew - captain and guide. Great humor and they knew excatly the best spot so swim with the stingrays and to snorkel. Our greatest experience on our cruise. Such great fun, and our photos were so wonderful to share with friends who should not believe us if we just try to explain with words only.We recommend these guys!!!!!!!!!

Would just like to share with everyone how much fun we had on our September 2010 visit to the Cayman Islands. We are a couple that prides ourselves with doing research on shore excursions, so when we booked our cruise on the Carnival Valor with the Western Caribbean itinerary, we decided a visit to Stingray City was a must. We researched various different operators and found very good feedback about Carib Select Watersports through TripAdvisor and Cruise Critic respectively. Booking our trip with Carib Select was effortless online and payment through PayPal was a plus. Upon arriving in Grand Cayman, we met up with our tour guide, Tina, who was very personable, funny and knowledgeable. We were cruising from Orlando, FL and found it interesting that Tina had grown up in the same area. After meeting the rest of our party, we proceeded to board an air-conditioned bus for our drive from the cruise tender port to the marina where our boat was located. Neither myself or my girlfriend are ones for large crowds, so the smaller boat and smaller crowd was on point as others utilized catamarans and double decker boats that were packed full of tourists. The ride out to Stingray City was phenomenal as Tina and the other guides gave us plenty of information about Grand Cayman and the waters surrounding the island. Stingray City was great (a little freaky at first) with our group being able to feed, kiss and get shoulder massages from the stingrays. There was even a stingray that lost its tail called Frisbee that fell in love with our group. Tina and her staff made it very easy for us to feel comfortable around these animals and helped take pictures of all the guests holding and kissing the stingrays. We didn't buy the picture package as it was affordable, but neither my girlfriend or I are near our "fighting" weight so we find pictures of us in minimal clothing kinda depressing at times. There was no pressure to buy the pictures so once we lose some weight we would buy in the future. After the Stingray encounter, they took us to a nearby reef to snorkel. I must say, the snorkeling at the reef was phenomenal. We saw so many tropical fish, fan coral, brain coral, and even a moray eel hiding at the base of some rocks and coral. We were allowed to snorkel for about 40 minutes before we began or return trip to the marina. On the way back in, they took us by some waterfront homes that were stunning. Forgot to mention that the iguanas on the island or massive, got some good shots of these guys. Once back at the dock, we boarded the bus for the return trip. The driver was extra nice to drop a few couples off at Seven Mile Beach and even the local grocery store for a couple to pick up provisions. We were dropped back off at the cruise tender area and on our way back to the ship. Excellent service, excellent views, excellent experience.

We enjoyed our trip to Stingray City. We were originally booked through our cruise line but due to choppy water, they canceled the night before. We were so disappointed since this was the excursion we were so excited to go on. We found Carib Select in town & they took us out for a wonderful time of memories as a family.

The people make the adventure fun but it is a cover up of what is to come. That is they will milk you for the photos taken of you swimming with the stingrays for less than one minute. You will think you had a good time but they want way too much money for taking those photos. Negotiate your price. I have seen people pay different price for the same quantities of photos. They will start with an usual high price of $200. Then it will drop to $120. You will then think you got a deal. It is not a deal when it is just photos on a cd. Do the math. Imagine we all pay their price they would have made a killing selling digital photos which you know cost next to nothing. Bottomline DO Not buy in to their sale pitch. It is the Carib way of doing business.

Below average. There are much better boat trips to take in Cayman. The crew clearly tolerated the tourists, nothing more.

This was awesome
14 yo and 8 yo
20 minute boats ride and water was shallow enough to stand even for my 8 yo
We were there for like 40 minutes with sting rays
We got to hold them and take pics
I bought the pics for $60
They email them to you
Was worth the money

We had a wonderful trip with Tina and her crew. We were on a private boat with stops at Stingray City and two reefs. We had the added pleasure of seeing a dolphin too. The boat was very comfortable and the ride was very relaxing. We were treated to a great conch salad which we all loved. Tina was a patient teacher, making sure we had a great experience. Our children had never snorkeled before and Tina made it a very memorable trip.

I wasn't sure what to expect but this tour was very cool. I took a cruise and one of the stops was Grand Cayman. My son wanted to catch a fish but we also wanted to see Stingray city. I had contacted over eight-tour operator in Grand Cayman to seek out options that would fit our limited time and budget. The only one who contacted me back was Ementina from Dallas Watersports & Carib Select, she actually called me!! We talked about all the options that were available and I wasn't disappointed with her advice. The tour was great and the captain was amazing!! He heard that my son wanted to catch a fish so during the snorkeling part of the tour he put some bait on a hand line and helped my son catch a fish!! WOW my son and I were amazed that they would go out of their way like that. A truly amazing trip!! Contact them at Toll Free: 1 (888) 452-7928, Email: caribselect@candw.ky, Email: info@caribselect.ky

Well first off, Ementina was a joy to speak to in order to book our trip, we had very limited time in grand cayman because we were a group of 9 people on a cruise who wanted to do it all! Ementina helped coordinate everything in a way that worked like clockwork!
The sting rays were beyond amazing and a definite recommendation if you’re ever visiting grand cayman! Booking private tour like this meant that all 9 of us got to hold, pet and kiss Cassandra (a very particularly amazing sting ray!) as opposed to other tours we could see where people were just looking! Krista our guide was lovely and our captain Ottis was quite a character! They both made our day there fantastic with fun facts and jokes and the works!
The only complaint I have is that we were somewhat convinced out of taking our own underwater photos since Krista had her own underwater camera, but then were charged $25 per person ($225 total!) to get the photos on a CD! They were very good photos, far better than we would have captured on our disposable cameras and this is actually on their website, but at the time we thought it was a favour. I suppose its not really their fault but we still would have liked to be informed straight up that it would cost that much and not after we had taken no photos of our own!
All in all, I definitely think this is the best way to see the sting rays!

Carib select watersports and photos by Krista does an excellent job in taking extra time with you and telling you all the ins and outs of the Island. The sting ray city snorkeling extravaganza was amazing. Capt. Rodger, Tina, Krista and first mate CJ were awesome! They give you alot of personal attention and even though we only had 4 people they still took us out! Krista does a fantastic job with the pictures, can't wait to get some printed! I highly recommend Carib Select Watersports for all of your snorkeling trips!

Tried to contact company via email, but email isn't valid- does anyone know the price of the stingray excursion?
