My husband and I went to this store to check out SharkSkin scuba tops. They didn't have a smaller size for me and a larger for my husband but we ended up purchasing 2 tops thinking we would be ok with them. Now remember, this is Cayman so a $144 CI purchase is actually ~$172 in US (and these same tops sell for $135 in the US but we were willing to spend the extra just for the convenience of having them now). I guess we had buyers remorse because they just didn't fit right and given the expense they should be perfect so I took them back. As they were never used, the tags were still on and the fact that they didn't have the other sizes that would have worked better for us I felt I should be able to get a refund. No such luck. The owner was incredibly arrogant and just kept repeating that is his store's policy, always was and always will be. He would only give store credit and he "made an exception" for me to spend the money at the shop he owns next store that sells dresses/tops/swimsuits and assorted other things. I was with a friend who lives on the Island who has brought many people to that store (we've spent hundreds of dollars there over the years as well). No more dude. You lost their business, other guests, and ours forever. You're not the only game it town.

My husband wanted to buy a scuba mask for his dive the next day. A local recommended Diver’s Supply, but we went to Divers World simply because it was closer to our hotel. They had a great selection of merchandise and in addition to a $78CI mask we bought a pair of shoes, two shirts, and a pair of shorts. The next day my husband went to put on his brand new mask for his dive and discovered that the latch was broken that attaches the strap to the mask. What a disappointment. We went back to the shop that afternoon to either exchange the mask or get it fixed. The owner was incredibly rude and accusatory. He ended up fixing the mask for us, grumbling the whole time, but I left feeling like a chastised child who had done something wrong. I came to TripAdvisor to warn others about our experience, but clearly I should have checked here first and avoided Divers World to begin with. Next time go to Divers Supply, it’s just down the road and worth the short distance.

Purchased flippers at Diver’s World Seven Mile shops Grand Cayman and the strap broke after two uses. The owner would not exchange or recognize defect. We spent hundreds of dollars at this shop and were treated horribly. Blamed it on the user. Never ever go to this shop. They don’t stand behind their merchandise and my husband was blown off. No courtesy or respect. No accommodation made in any fashion.
If I had read other reviews before I went I would have seen Terrible more than Excellent in the comments.
Plenty of other places to spend your money. Worst treatment ever in the over 25 years coming to this island!

We’re amateurs when it comes to snorkelling, even after 20 years.
We both wanted some new fins, and had decided on short ones for ease of use.
Went to Divers World for the first time to browse their selection, we were greeted by a very friendly Jordan who listened , gave advice and showed us what he thought would best suit us.
We tried them, he showed us how to adjust them and we made our purchases leaving the store impressed with his level of professional service.
Hopefully the fins will live up to his level of service

Every other customer experience during our week in Grand Cayman was fantastic. Two different men at the front desk treated us poorly. First off we had trouble with the first snorkel keeping the water out. But in explaining this we were treated as though we were idiots. Then, upon returning a second snorkel we were charged for an extra day of rental for Christmas Day even though they were closed and we couldn't return the snorkel that day. When we tried to discuss this calmly and politely we were greeted with the front desk person holding the receipt up to my face then crumpling up the receipt, and throwing it on the counter. Again, we had no problems with any other experiences on the island.

Overly priced even by tourist trap standards. Desperate to find surf shoes for my son at around closing time, I found a pair that fit him and paid $32. He said that he didn't like them multiple time but we needed something for the next morning. We ended up not using them at went to return them EARLY THE NEXT MORNING. They said that they would only go store credit. Even though the shoes still had the plastic strap sealed between them and the tags were in place.

I wasn't happy but what could I do? If the owner wants to be a jerk that's his deal. So, I asked if they had kids shirts and they said yes, at their shop next door. Anyone want to guess if they would take the store credit at the sister-store? Of course not.

Anyway, there are 3 other shops with diving goods within a quarter mile. I suggest you go there.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! This place should be out of business with their business practices! Take the advise as many others have mentioned and go elsewhere. The Snorkeling gear is dirty, old and doesn't fit. In all honesty it will make you sick. This place should be shut down period! Horrible customer service!!!

I can't knock any individual in the shop - only the owner and his "policies".

purchased a few items from Divers world in the past two years, i was awaiting a phone call about purchasing a camera and some accessories. in the meantime i purchased a Lense for another camera which broke 2 hours after purchase. i returned the following morning with the receipt only to be told point blank there was nothing they could do about it - fair play they have my money from the lense but in the meantime have lost 4 guaranteed customers in the last hour and also lost out on future sales which amounts to far more than the sum in question. the owner didn't think twice about scrubbing me out of the book for the phone call i was waiting for - excellent business and customer retention skills. I have been coming to the Caymans for over 20 years and over the years I have purchased many items at this location. I have to believe that anytime I was mistreated it was the same miserable man.
My friend purchased a $10 item and wanted to return it. He immediately attached and asked "What were you using it for?" He used an very arrogant tone.
I stepped in and told him it was use to keep things dry and it didn't.
He refuse to refund.. exchange or even help us find something better.
When she found something she like .. I was so upset with his attitude .. I said let's go to Divers Supply up the street.
We went to Divers Supply (West Shore Center, West Bay Road, Cayman Islands)
So pleasant and kind and caring and gave us time and better yet .. It was cheaper and more choices.

Never shop at Divers World... Rude Rude Rude.

We bought a boogie board on Monday. By Friday, all the seams came apart. We brought it back to Divers World and they told us that it was caused by excess heat. They didn't offer a refund or exchange.

So be warned: don't use their boogie boards in hot sun or transport it in a hot car. This is very hard to avoid in Cayman in August.

We also had a similar issue with a disposable underwater camera from Divers World a few years ago. The camera filled with water on first use. They said that we didn't use it properly.
