I originally took a weeklong course in 1987 (or thereabouts) & returned for some tips on wide angle photography. Jim spent about 2hrs in the classroom with me & we did a shore dive the next day. He then reviewed my photos after several dives. Very helpful. I would advise anyone wanting to learn UW photography to spend a week... More

My wife arranged this just before we embarked on an Aggressor boat for the week. I experienced both photography and video sessions, followed by dives to apply the lessons. The courses are fairly well packed with good information - starting with good foundations of composition, lighting and associated technical aspects. Jim was patient, thorough, and focused on those minute elements... More

I was referred to Cathy’s after stopping at two large dive shops while looking for a new strobe. Addie met us at the door and provided excellent service throughout our visit. The rest of my family enjoyed looking at the numerous displayed underwater pictures while I was buying the strobe. Great shop, wonderful service, and lots to choose from.

We enjoyed taking some U/W photo lessons from Jim. He was very good and it is a great place to improve one's photography skills. They have a good selection of cameras to rent. Although the Sola video light did not work on one of the dives which messed up learning video skills unfortunately.

I had a very unfortunate day when I accidentally used my camera under water when it wasn't fully closed and protected. I went to Cathy's in the hopes they had the same model so I could continue taking underwater photos for the remainder of our trip. They didn't have the same model, but they had an even better camera for... More

Came here to get a go pro because mine croaked. Staff was helpful. Have a very nice selection of very advanced underwater photography equipment. Interestingly my go pro that I just got died after one day. No hassle exchange. Would recommend seeing them if you have any underwaterphotography needs in the Grand Cayman's.

Just finished a week in Grand Cayman and did four dives. The first day we did 2 dives, one wall dive, then off to stingray city. My daughter is 17 and as a requirement for graduation she had to do a "senior exit project". Her project? Scuba diving. Just 2 days after completion of her certification we were underwater and... We've had the opportunity to work with Jim Catlin twice in the last two weeks. He was extremely helpful and supportive with our camera issues. The last time I brought my camera in the on-off button was stuck with salt. The manual says to leave the camera in fresh water for 30 min. after snorkeling. During our visit, Jim told... More

Took an afternoon class with Jim, one of the staff instructors. He was thorough and easy to understand and patient with two novice underwater photographers!! The class taught us the basics of taking great underwater pics and gave us a basis to continue to grow in this area. Our photos the rest of the week were soooo much better and... More

Just returned from my 5th photofest and I learn things new every day I attend the classes and talk to the photo pros. I was able to take six classes on light room 6 and really get my photos to the next level. John was my photo pro and he was the best. He slowly expained the program and it... More
