I was on RoyalCaribbean's Liberty of the Seas in October 2019. My wife had passed away and this was partially a trip to help clear my head and also to remember her as my next stop was Jamaica where she was from. After my wife passed away I went and became a certified SCUBA diver but my friend whom I was traveling with was not so instead of diving I opted to do SNUBA instead so my friend could tag along. She talked about how she loved to swim and would freedive some so I figured that this would be great for her. At first she planned to only go a couple feet under water but once we were out there she was on the bottom in no time.

I was pretty much ignored during the "training" where they teach non divers to equalize and clear their mask among other things which was perfectly fine since I had been 70 feet under water the previous day and already had those skills and then some. After that we got geared up and hit the water. It was amazing to see what was right outside of the shops doors literally... A few feet of swimming and you come across a small reef and a shipwreck with a bunch of fish and whatnot.

Throughout everything they were very professional and friendly. After talking with the guide a bit he suggested coming back for a week's stay and doing some dives together. Who knows if that will happen or not but I would gladly take someone who is not certified to dive along with on another SNUBA dive with them.

Thank you very much.

I recently went on a cruise to Jamaica and Cayman with my wife and 4 others. We chose the sea trek as our excursion when we stopped in the Cayman Islands. We are all in agreement that it was not only the highlight of the stop, but of the entire trip. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The people who ran the trek were fabulous and it was just all around great. We all recommend it to anyone who travels to Cayman. It is a must do! It was so beautiful walking on the ocean floor and the experience was a lot of fun.

My girlfriend and I recently visited Grand Cayman via cruise ship and decided to try an excursion that was out of the ordinary, fun, and thrilling- Sea Trek checks all these boxes and more. This is a once in a lifetime experience and we highly recommend trying this excursion at least once. A guide takes you on a boat out to another boat awaiting you a few minutes away. He explains everything to you in preparation for whats next. We arrive at the boat and I decide to go first (mainly because I wanted to spend more time down at the bottom of the ocean and didn't want to get stuck behind people that were losing their wits). I get in the water and the guide places a 70 lb helmet over my head (It doesn't feel heavy due to the water weight). I slowly make my descent down the ladder, stopping every 10-15 seconds to pop my ears. My only complaint was the pressure that deep was making my ears POP (it effects people differently as my girlfriend's ears didn't pop as much). I finally make it to the bottom and behold the ocean floor and sea life in all it's glory. There are divers swimming around to make us feel safe so I wasn't too worried about surprise attacks from any sea creatures. We walked around for about 30 minutes with our guide, who performed different tricks and even took his helmet off. This excursion is well worth the money, compared to the other excursions (which are pretty basic). Do yourself a favor and do this excursion! You won't regret it! I was one of those people who was concerned about sharks but you have nothing to be worried about. And ladies, your hair stays dry the entire time underwater

The idea of standing on the ocean floor sounds really fun however wearing the helmet that weights over 5lb, ears popping and being entertained by the tour guide was way over priced for what it is! The helmet is extremely uncomfortable, we went snorkeling off the pier of a restaurant, swam, fed and saw more fish and sea life for free, then doing this excursion! For how much they are charging, they could include a picture to purchase. If you go, bring your own camera. The man who drove the boat said cruise lines stop them from allowing purchased photography. Really a tourist trap, but definitely an experience!

My husband and I did this excursion as part of our Princess Cruise. Bonus...we were the only 2 booked so it turned in to our own private experience. After we tendered to shore from the ship, we were met and it was about a 5 min walk to the location. I was able to purchase a waterproof camera for USD $20.00 from the operator and the pictures turned out good enough for us. If you are doing this excursion, you may want to plan to buy a waterproof camera to bring along. It was a short boat ride to the actual spot where we get in the water. There are locked metal boxes on the platform where you can leave your gear. For me, being a non-swimmer and claustrophobic....I was a bit apprehensive.....but I had no issues with either ! The crew was amazing and they are all about safety so I felt 100% comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this excursion and the company and staff are fantastic ! When all is done, they offer a shower to rinse off and there is a washroom that you can change in to dry clothes.

We had been helmet diving once before, with another company in another location. It was a good experience, so we signed up for this excursion from our cruise.
And it was the best experience ever!
From start to finish the employees were fun AND totally professional. Their instructions - and their top-notch equipment - reflected a commitment to our having a SAFE and fun dive. The dive location was close to the reef and there were lots of fish. The employees who were underwater with us helped us get up and down the ladder, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our dive.
If you’ve always wanted to try helmet diving, go HERE.

Two things make me chicken-hearted---HEIGHTS and THE OCEAN. But I love facing my fears, so although I didn't jump at the chance to walk on the bottom of the ocean, I was glad that my beautiful wife booked a visit at the Grand Cayman Sea Trek in Georgetown. Essentially, you are met by a 'guide' who gives you the basics and helps you fill out the requisite paperwork, then you get on a boat that takes you to the dive site. On the way there your second guide gives you another run down. When you get to the dive site you are given a final briefing. As I went down the ladder, I couldn't help but feel like the helmet would just slide off or be forced off by the waves. It didn't so I was either lucky or the gear works like it was supposed to work. I must have been very annoying to the safety diver (in scuba gear) because I was a little panicky and probably took more time than average to descend the ladder. I was just getting my Zen back when my excited wife made it to the bottom, underwater ran to me and starting trying to shake my helmet loose. I tried to yell at her to stop forgetting that you can't really hear much. I think the size of my bugged out eyes and the big 'X' I was forming with my arms finally clued her in to my elevated level of panicness. I won't describe any of the underwater tour other than to say our underwater Sea Trek guide had an extremely uncanny ability to communicate with hand signals. . .and he could hold his breath far too long to be completely human. By the end, I did NOT want to ascend the ladder and furthermore THIS was the single most exciting and fun activity we did during our entire vacation. Hopefully, I have a chance to do this again and totally recommend anyone to give this a try while in Cayman (or elsewhere). I told my wife that I would look up Sea Trek anywhere we vacationed and if we were lucky enough to visit Grand Cayman again, I'd do it again. Worth every penny!

Have been snorkeling before in many countries including the large coral reefs in key west and this was the most amazing one yet!! It was so much easier than snorkeling and was a totally different experience. Totally worth the $$. My 10 yr old had absolutely no problems and thought it was the most amazing thing he's ever seen. We booked this through Carnival cruises.

As a non-diver, it was a great experience with the fish swimming around you. Water was colder than I expected. I was freaked out at first with the helmet on and thought I'd have a panic attack but I slowed my breathing and calmed myself down. The staff was great and very careful with your safety. Even my teen liked it.

I have to admit, I was a bit nervous to try this but I am so happy I did it——it is AMAZING!!!!!! I have tried snuba and was unable to so my son begged me to give this a try so i could experience what is like underwater with all the sea life and coral. I had let him down by chickening out for the snuba so I was not going to give up this time and the tour guide was sooooooooo kind and patient. I did not write down his name to mention him, but he is from Ohio — he did a fantastic job and I’m so thankful he helped me go through with this! Tyler was our underwater guide and also was wonderful. The two divers who assisted made me feel so much better and one stayed by my side the entire time making sure i was calm and doing ok. I cannot thank them all enough for this experience—it is one of the best excursions I’ve ever done!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
