If you can tear yourself away from the beach on Grand Cayman for a day, this is the tour to take. Ann picked us up in her own car, complete with water and sandwiches, and spent the day revealing to us the normally unseen interior of the island. Her specialty is butterflies, but she is very knowledgeable about other fauna, the flora and the geology of the Caymans. The Duppy bush was among my favorites she showed us, even finding one that has its tiny little leaves as well as just its green stems. A rare sight! She threw in some local lore - such as how the "hand shake tree" got its name from the local folks. We were sorry when the day was over; it left us with a real appreciation of the Cayman Islands' fragile ecology, the effect of development and of invasive species, and the subtle beauty of the interior that awaits those lucky enough to see it.

Captain John Michael took us out on a half day excursion. If you really want an enjoyable time as well as learn a lot about the island. We were to go to Sting Ray City however with a front that passed through it was a bit rough to go in the waters there. Captain John had a backup plan that we feel was better than sting ray city. We first went to Starfish beach which if you ever have a chance to go please do as it was amazing! Now back to Plan B since we could not see the sting rays at sting ray Capt. John took us to Rum Point beach to chill and relax while he went off in distance and chummed the waters for stingrays. We we got to the boat boy did he come through. He had made his own mini sting ray city and we were able to hold them and interact with them. The pictures we got you would normally not have the scenery behind you as well as it was only us not other people on other boats to visit one of the largest tour attractions in the Caymans. The private excursion was the best. You had personal interaction with the captain and you were treated like a family not just a tourist. If you want your own personalized excursion with a knowledgeable guide this is the one for you. This was one of the best excursions we have ever done! Thank you Captain John for making this such an incredible time!
