I can recommend. I used their service in Jan 2014 with my wife and two kids. It was an unforgettable experience. Safe, nice!

We loved our tour w/ Soto cruises. They only charge $35 per person! This price includes being picked up at pier area and tranported to their business, located in a residential area. The boat is a pontoon w/ a shade top (which my husband liked ). The day we went it was NOT crowded-17 people-compared to boats we saw that had tons of people. The crew was knowlegeable and patient. They offer pics-no pressure to buy-2 for $25 or 4 for $35.See sample pic I am including. On the way to our 2nd stop, (which was to snorkel over the reef), they stopped & scooped up a huge starfish, that we all got to hold.We saw the iguanas on the canal on the way back to the business.AWESOME! I would do this tour again !

My family took Soto Cruises to Stingray City. Well worth every penny we paid. The trip was two and a half hours with several stops to snorkel and see the fish. The captain gave a full sightseeing tour explaining all the fish and what kind they were. Went to Stingray City and explained all about the rays and helped us with our gear and showed us how to feed the rays. Even took photos of us that we could buy if we wanted. Explained some of the coral reefs to us and told us about the waters. Couldn't ask for a better cruise or nicer people. They are the best!

It was nice to be able to enjoy Stingray City and snorkeling with less than 20 people on board. As we looked around, we noticed there were several boats that were loaded with people coming off the cruise ships. We were thankful to have already booked Sotos and were able to enjoy this experience on a more personal level. The captain and his first mate were very helpful, informative, and humorous. They made sure they captured all of the hilarious expressions from swimming with the stingrays on our cameras. This made for an amazing trip!

My husband and I just returned from Grand Cayman. Wonderful, friendly place. We booked Soto tours for Stingray City and it was worth every dollar! Captain and his mate were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The rates were better than other tours we looked at and given that it was low season we were few on the boat. Both the captain and his mate were very helpful and reassured me. It was an awesome experience. Would certainly do it again!

We absolutely loved the team at Sotos Cruises. From the gal who picked us up in town, to the ship's crew, everyone was friendly and went above and beyond to welcome us and make our cruise enjoyable. This is a small outfit, limiting the boat to 28 people (we only had 15), so plenty of room and no crowding in the water. Alister (the captain), took us snorkeling first, then the 1st mate (sorry I can't remember his name), helped us find lobster and other neat things. He took pictures with our cameras, found huge starfish and was super nice. Each took extra time with the stingrays to ensure we had a great time with lots of pictures (that we didn't have to buy on a CD). We've been to Stingray City 3 times and this was by far our favorite excursion company. We'll certainly use them again. I almost hate put this review because I don't want them to be sold out the next time we go! Great job guys!

Was just there July 2013. I found it on internet to try to stay away from the cruise ship excursions. It was a great choice! Lots of personal attention! Not crowded! They took pictures with our own cameras for us and they turned out great!

We chose Sotos Cruises for our excursions in Grand Caymans in June 2013 after reading the reviews online. And sure enough, they were wonderful!!!
I was in charge of finding an activity for our group that consisted of senior citizens, adults, teens and kids. A group of 27 that became 24 the day of our excursion.
The communication from the start was excellent. Kerry was thorough in her responses, giving us all the information to be ready to meet her on the day of our excursion.

We were coming via the cruise ship to Grand Cayman and did not want to book the excursions through them as they seemed very pricey. Once we knew the activities we wanted to do (snorkel and stingrays), we got in touch with Sotos Cruises and booked them for our group of 27. But on the day of the excursion, 3 had dropped out (2 because they felt too old to do the activities, and 1 because of feeling ill). Kerry did not penalize us and charged us for the 24 that showed up. Very fair and we appreciated that.

We set off on a mini-bus from the cruise terminal to their dock. Robert drove us in his clean and air-conditioned bus. There were ample seats for our group of 24. That was a comfortable 20 min drive, where we got to see the numerous banks of Grand Cayman - they have over 700 banks!! Robert also gave us some history tidbits of the island.
Once at their dock, we got our snorkel gear, went over safety and boarded the boat, which was captained by Astor and crewed by Erol.

The boat was equipped with life jackets. There was cold water, and fruit punch. And a bathroom. There was a covered area so we had the option to stay away from the sun or not.

Our 1st stop was to snorkeling. We had to go about 30 minutes out to get there. Coral Gardens I think. Snorkeling went smoothly. I wish we had more time there. Astor and Erol helped the whole group get into the water (we had a few timid people). Without them, half of us would have stayed onboard! Glad they helped us out.

Next stop was Sting Ray Sandbar, which was just a short boat ride away. What a fabulous and unique experience this was!! The stingrays were huge! And small too - saw a baby stingray. Don't worry, their stingers were cut off (hopefully humanely). It was a great experience enjoyed by the whole group! Again, it was amazing because Astor and Erol got us to feel comfortable with the stingrays and in the water. They really made this experience so fun.

Last stop was Star Fish Beach - and while I was not excited about it initially, that opinion changed once we got there. It was a beautiful and secluded beach! And the starfish were aplenty!!! Erol had jumped out as soon as we docked and found some starfish for us to hold and learn about - he knows marine life thats for sure! Another experience we will always cherish!

Can't say enough about Sotos Cruises! The value was Great. Customer Service was Great. Experience was Great. We give it 48 thumbs up!!!!!!!

My family of four - kids 11 and 23 - took the Stingray and Coral Garden trip with Soto. The captain and his, mate were personable and visibly interested in making the trip a memorable one for of us. They helped us understand interesting facts about the Stingray; literally showing us as the creatures swam around us! They were able to entertain both my kids, despite the age differences.
The Soto's took extra care with my wife for snorkel at Coral Gardens - fitting her with a special float that helped remove her fear of being a weak swimmer. Soto's search and find of a couple of starfish was the cherry on an already great cake!

A reviewer below gave them one star because they chose to go with a different company when Soto's was booked. Way to knock down the rating for this great company. YOU chose to go with the other company instead of researching and booking yourself. This crew is the absolute best. The boat is clean and comfortable. The best part is that it's plenty big, but not as big as the more popular companies on the island. This is good because size does matter. The more popular companies serve larger crowds, which isn't a good thing. Our boat being smaller was one of the first out to the sandbar because we had less people to check in, transport, collect fees, fit for snorkel gear, etc. in total, there were 13 of us which means we got a lot of personal attention and more time with the rays. The same for snorkeling part of the tour. When the boat stops, it's better to have fewer people swimming around you then to have 40 people bouncing off of each other.
They also allow you to use your own camera which is nice. Of course they also take photos which they then try to sell you. The photo CD was $50.
Overall, if we ever go back I won't even research any other company and that says a lot because as the title says, I tend to be a bit picky. These guys are worth every penny. Don't hesitate to book with them.
