My wife and I took recently took their stingray tour. Kerry did a great job of communicating before we got there. And, Kerry was waiting for us right where she said she would be at the terminal entrance (under a white tent). Tip-be sure to remember what time you and your ship are on, versus “local” time, so that you don’t end up getting there before you are supposed to. We took a short van ride to a nice quiet neighborhood where they dock their boat. We then took a pleasant ride out to a great spot to snorkel and see some nice fish and coral. I saw a stingray swimming around, a barracuda, and tons of tropical fish. We then stopped at a second place, closer to the ledge, to see more nice coral and fish. We then went to where the masses go, to see the stingrays in the shallow water. We felt like royalty, since Soto’s Tours only takes small groups versus the people who were piled on like sardines and who spent twice as much to go through a cruise ship tour and end up with much less time to actually interact with a stingray. We had plenty of time to hold/play/feed a large stingray. Tip- hold the squid EXACTLY like the Mate tells you when you go to feed the large stingray, or you may get an unexpected surprise. Then, when we got done there, we even stopped at a 4th place to view LOTS of starfish. I’ve done this tour with multiple companies, and this one is THE BEST! Thanks again to Randy (the Captain), John (the Mate), and Kerry (the great Communicator/Office Manager). My wife is going again in a few weeks with her dad, and we will definitely be using their services again. Trust me when I say that they have a very safe boat, they’ve been doing this for years, and you will have an amazing time for a fraction of the cost of booking the tour through the ship!

We spent the afternoon with Randy and John, and our kids had an absolute blast! These gentlemen were born and raised on the island and know the best spots to take you. We did a multi-stop trip where we snorkeled and went to stingray city and starfish point. We had 5 kids in our group, and John took extra time with them and went above and beyond to get the most out of our time in the spots and to never make us feel rushed. If you are considering a family tour, don’t waste your time on the big name tour groups. Get personalized service with Soto’s!

Can’t say enough about how special our day on the boat with Soto’s cruises was. Randy and John were excellent. Patient and knowledgeable. Let us stay as long as we wanted at each stop. Couldn’t have asked for a better tour in the beautiful Cayman waters. Thanks Kerry for being so professional and communicating exact plan with us.

We've visited Grand Cayman a number of times and have been to Sting Ray city before, but it'd been a few years. We typically tour the island with Shirley, but wanted to go back to Sting Ray City and asked for a recommendation. Shirley recommended Soto's for the trip. What a great recommendation. We were met at the dock, taken by air conditioned van to the boat where they had snorkel gear if we needed it (we all had our own gear), then off we went. A short ride later on a spectacular day we were in the water snorkeling at the coral gardens. We spent about 30 - 45 minutes there until we were pretty much snorkeled out then back on the boat and over to Sting Ray City. There, we were a MUCH smaller group (there were 4 of those today, but as we looked around at the visitors from cruise ships, they were in groups of 20 or more). We got personalized attention, great history and insight, and got to do all the usual stuff with the rays. The folks at Soto's are one of the big reasons we like to book our excursions directly with locals versus through the cruise line. We will absolutely be back!
