We used this company to go fishing and to go to Stingray City. Lin, Jessica, Jeff and Andre we’re fabulous! I can’t say enough good things about them. They were friendly knowledgeable, kind and fun. We kissed multiple stingrays. Even the four year old felt...More

Ranks with mountain gorillas and Bengal tigers as a once in a lifetime experience. We paid $60 - plus of course the obligatory photos - another $40. But it’s not about the money. This is a one off - you will relive it until you...More

This is a once in a life time opportunity to do something very unique, get in the water with a "swarm" of sting rays. As soon as the boat stops, you are on a 4 foot deep sandbar in the most beautiful, clearest water you...More

Stingray City is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It was on my bucket list and exceeded my expectations. I was amazed at the number of stingrays swimming around and how tame they were. Yes, there is definitely a lot of people there but one...More

My family and I just got back from a 7 day Carnival cruise and Stingray city was the first excursion we did. After debarking, we were met by Shane, the bus driver. He was fantastic. Born and raised on the island and very knowledgeable. After...More

We had a great time, Georges was the best, touch, feed and kiss the rays! They quickly found a favorite female that was so gentle and friendly, the information they provided about the rays was great and we were never concerned.

Red sail runs this trip which leaves around 7.30 from their base . This was our second trip this year with visiting family and gets you to the sand bar before it gets crowded, it's a great trip with a knowledgeable crew and even get...More

When travelling I always look for the one thing that an area has to offer that is unique to that area and for me the Grand Cayman offers two: Scuba diving and Stingray City.

Day rates at hotels on Seven Mile or Governors Beach (3 Replies)
Do any of the hotels on Seven Mile or Governors Beach charge a day rate for use of facilities? We are on a Disney Cruise with our kids and grandkids and have done Stingray City, tours, etc., on previous trips, so will spend the day while they do the tourist sites! If really not needed, please advise--we have nat visited any of the beaches on Grand Cayman. Thanks for advice.

You should contact the hotels directly. They sometimes have offers but depends on occupancy. Just saying low season isn't enough because they may have corporate bookings. I'm sure you can email but I would send your query directly to the Grand Cayman location not the 800 type booking agency. Choices are Marriott, Cayman Islands Beachsuites, Westin, and Ritz Carlton. Some of the condos on the beach offer daily rates seasonally. You won't have hotel amenities but plenty of room and can bring in...More

Trip Report - 2/1-6/10 at Marriott - Fabulous! (1 Reply)
Just returned from a most wonderful week at the Marriott in Grand Cayman! I enjoyed reading all the trip reports prior to our trip so I will try to give a synopsis of our time there for those who have their trips to look forward to! Flew Cayman Air from Tampa - after a 4-hour delay on Sunday due to mechanical problems, they canceled our flight. We were given dinner, hotel, and breakfast vouchers (staying at very nice airport Marriott) and told to come back next morning at 10. As soon as we...More

great report, I just wished we had a day like your Thursday where all we did was be beach bums all day but we ended up booking so many excursions we found it hard to do. Luckily our last day we spent a couple hours out, and the day we got there also. Sounds like the AI was pretty awesome to have and with using points you cannot go wrong. Although you did miss out on some other great restaurants, but again using the points not having to pay extra would be awesome! I'm like you, loved...More

Outrage Ecotour of Stingray City, Barrier Reef & Rum Point (10 Replies)
I've just returned home from the best vacation of my life, in Grand Cayman. While there, my mother and I hired a private charter boat for the full day excursion, with Outrage Ecotours. Our captain/tour operator, John Michael, is a Cayman local and free diver. We paid $500 between us for the day, and had the boat to ourselves. Best money we ever spent!! We went to Stingray City Sandbar to feed and play with the Southern Stingrays. It was a windy day, and the waves were very choppy, and they...More

There are so many opportunities to visit Stingray City as you describe that it is a real shame people think of it as cattleboats. They are there but not the norm and the only ones I can think of are the ones that cater to day visitors that don't check out what they are getting into. Too bad about your mom's injury. Feeding a ray is very similar to feeding a horse. They can't see what is going into their mouths. So by using smell they lock on. For a horse it might mean very sore fingers or...More
