My niece and her friend came to Grand Cayman to spend a few days with me and I took them over to rum point.
We went to red sail sport to ask about the girls taking a scuba resort course.
The young men that work there where so helpful and polite. They got us scheduled for diving and then when the girls found themselves super far away on their paddle board, the young man named Orain got on a jet ski and went out to tow them in.
He was super nice about it. Didn't even try to make the girls feel bad for making a mistake. So professional.
The other young man, craig, gave us advice where to go, and fun things to do for young people on the island.
They, honestly, could not have been any nice, more helpful, or friendly.
Thank you for helping make the girls visit more enjoyable.

We went on the breakfast with stingrays excursion on Saturday morning. The crew was amazing. Morne who was picking up us in the hotel and with the slight confusion on the meeting spot on hotel's staff part he worked things out very patiently. The whole experience was very pleasant and smooth. Reggie was our captain and he gave us information about stingrays and safety precautions. The experience with stingrays was very unique and the crew made sure every visitor who wanted to interact with stingrays and get their photo taken had a chance to interact and take a photo with stingrays. We had 2nd stop for snorkeling and I had a blast, The equipment was provided, very good flippers , vests and masks I have to admit for a weak swimmer like myself I felt very safe and well equipped and finally figured out snorkeling . I took my first ever underwater footage, with coral reef and beautiful school of purple fish, Just WOW! On the way back we got to see how crew opened the sails and going back felt smooth and beautiful sailing with gorgeous waters and relaxing time, soaking in beautiful Caribbean. I highly recommend this excursion with Red Sail Sports because the crew is very professional and provides amazing customer service. Thank you for such a great experience. We definitely want to come back to Caymans to sail with Red Sails Sports again. .

We booked an excursion to Stingray City and Rum Point from a Red Sail Sports desk at our hotel, the Kimpton. We are so glad we did this and I would highly recommend this trip - It was the highlight of our trip! A shuttle picked us up from the Kimpton and took us over to Red Sail's dock. The crew of the catamaran we were on were fun and showed us the proper way to hold the stingrays, which were amazing, gentle creatures. We enjoyed the boat ride and the water on the sand bar. We saw other tour boats at Stingray City but none looked like they were having as much fun as our boat. Book this trip with Red Sail Sports and you won't be disappointed!

Lesson learned: Checkout other options like Captain Marvin (local tour), they get excellent reviews and are half the price for the same tour!!
Booked this tour with Red Sails at 12:17 pm with emphasis on snorkeling. We sailed at 2pm. After departing, within 5 minutes the Captain announces “no snorkeling due to weather”. We were never told by the sales agent (located in the hotel lobby at the Kimpton) that cancellation of the snorkeling leg of the tour would be probable. I get the weather factor, but this decision was made well in advance of my booking. I would have made other plans. Basically we got charged for 2 excursions and only went to one. No offer by the Company to refund some of the money or give a credit for another day.

We booked a few trips or excursions with Red Sail. We were in the Cayman Islands on a trip for 5 days. We booked the very first day we arrived. We told the people we were visiting and the main thing we wanted to do was visit stingray city. We knew that 2 of our 5 days had a chance of rain, but we were told that they didn't cancel for rain. We signed up for a few excursions. The timing was spaced out over those 5 days. Our first trip was the wave runner safari and snorkel. We went out on a beautiful morning. I don't remember the guy's name who took us, but he did an excellent job. He was very friendly and attentive. Our second excursion was canceled. It was the breakfast with the stingrays. The main trip we wanted. We could have taken a stingray trip (a mid-day trip) instead of the wave runner safari, but like I said earlier, they told us not to worry because they don't cancel because of rain. They sold us on the breakfast trip rather than the mid-day trip, so we were upset with the cancelation. Even more upsetting was that they called 5 minutes before closing time the night before the trip. This left us scrambling to find another stingray city excursion. The odd thing was the mentioned something about if they found another couple to go, they would try for a mid-day stingray city excursion and they would let us know in the morning. The entire cancelation event just didn't make sense to me. They take your money up front, and most times don't like to refund you if you want to cancel, but in this case, they weren't reliable. I left with the feeling they didn't have enough people signed up and used possible rain as an excuse to cancel. Lucky for us, we got up that next morning and went to Captain Marvins and was able to do the stingray city excursion. It was a wonderful trip. The sun was out, and so were all the other companies who did excursions. It did rain for about 30 minutes that afternoon at about 4, long after we would have been done with the breakfast with the stingrays. So, my review is mixed, the employees are very good if you actually go out on a trip, but their management does not get a good review.

I booked two experiences with them - kittiwake diving and breakfast with the rays. I chose them because they were right on the Westin beach so it was quite convenient.
My first tour was snorkeling at Kittiwake on the Spirit of Calypso on March 21. Absolutely no problems. Boarding was smooth and the staff were completely professional and very helpful. I was excited to go with them again.
My second tour was Breakfast with the Rays on the Spirit of Poseidon on March 22. Boarding was smooth and breakfast was good. However at stingray city the crew did not help us at all. And my family did not get a chance to hold the rays. The worst part was that when I asked this young crew member named Dante if I could hold his ray, he simply shrugged and then let it go. A neighboring boat captain came over and yelled at him for letting a huge ray go. I was annoyed too so this was nice to see. I then saw this same Dante stumble around the ship and mess up the sails. He also did not help my family out at the following stop, Starfish Point. The other three crew members stayed on the ship. Disappointed, I just wanted to head back to the hotel so we could relax and prepare for our next outing.
In my opinion, the Red Sail has expanded too much and has begun hiring staff members without properly training them or vetting them. My two experiences with them were drastically different and I would probably go with a smaller company next time for more consistency, especially considering the cost of each outing.

We chose them for the 3 snorkel stop trip because we were staying at the Westin. Booking staff was great, but catamaran staff was a bit lackluster & didn’t put much effort into making it a fun trip for guests other than the funny safety talk. We were also surprised to be paying for drinks having gone on multiple RedSail snorkeling trips in Aruba where drinks are included. The music was kept incredibly low the entire time. Much much different than our Aruba experiences with the company where the music was up enough to set the fun mood & for everyone to enjoy & staff were engaging & made sure everyone had a good time. The snorkeling was fun but the trip felt very meh otherwise.

We did the sunset sail (included snacks, not full dinner) on a Friday night and it was a lovely trip. The catamaran was large and had lot of seating with tables which made it comfortable for the 2 hour trip. The snacks were 2 flavors of breaded wings (BBQ and Buffalo) and a carrot + celery tray. The snacks were really good and they had ample quantity for our whole boat to enjoy. Drinks were rather pricy but in line with Westin prices (~$7 CI for a beer can). Sailing wise, it was very smooth as we went up and down the southwest side of the island. The boat was very clean, including the bathrooms, and they played nice/upbeat music. All in all, I felt it was the worth the money. Recommended for adults and couples.

We were in Grand Cayman for a vacation, and booked both the sunset excursion to Stingray Island as well as Breakfast with the Rays. Each experience was different and well worth the visit, as we got to experience the beautiful views at two different times of day. The staff was friendly, welcoming and genuinely enjoyed the prospect of showing off the catamaran and the rays to guests. At 4 hours, including the boat ride there and back plus snorkeling plus snacks plus time with the rays, the cost is reasonable. I got to feed a stingray a squid ice cream cone, and we also got to stop at Starfish Point. My daughter and I enjoyed this tremendously.

We’ve done several trips with Red Sail Sports and highly recommend them all. We did the Stingray City catamaran trip and it was unbelievable! We got to cuddle a large stingray and many stingray swam about us for over 40 minute. You could feed them and snorkel with them. This was followed by snorkeling on the reef and a nice sail back, with drinks available. We’d recommend one of their rum drinks!
The refresher diving course followed by an open water dive was really excellent. The diving instructors are thorough and professional and the gear provided is good quality. We followed this with two dives with Red Sail at Tortuga Divers at the East End of the island and it was even better! Sharks, magnificent coral, barracuda and heaps of fish life.
Trips have all been punctual and exactly as described. All the Red Sail staff have been friendly, professional and very attentive.
We would definitely use them again.

Hi, do you need advanced reservations for the dinner cruise and snorkeling trips? Or can you readily book when you arrive in GCI? Thank you!
Written January 18, 2024
I think you can book while there but maybe do it ahead to ensure your preferred date/time is available?

We are considering booking a private charter for the stingray tour. What is the maximum number of people we can have on the boat (in our group). Thanks! This is a small group trip and it would be great to make this a private trip but want to make sure we can accommodate everyone.

Depends on your capts boat but the one we went one would fit 8 comfortably....

Are there washrooms on the catamaran trips? Looking at the swimmin and grillin trip

We have a 5pm cruise departure. Does the 1pm catamaran, stingray and snorkel tour return us to the boat before then?

How long is the boat ride out to Stingray City? Is it a bumpy ride? I get seasick easily.
Written July 31, 2019
It is a very stable catamaran ride through the bay. The entire bay is protected by the reef so no big swells. I think our ride took about 45min.

We are visiting Grand Cayman in June. Red Sale's pricing brochure is broken into children and adults. I have a few teenagers. Does anyone know the age that Red Sale considers an adult?

Over 12 for most excursions. Sixteen for operation of personal watercreft (waverunners/jet- skis).
If you have questions regarding specific activities please contact us.

How do I get there using public transportation? Do they have a place to check a bag during the excursion or can you take it onboard?
Written March 7, 2019
For the sunset Cruise, Red Sail had a pick up at the Westin and they sailed over to the Kimpton and picked up 3 couples. The cruise is about and 1 1/2 hours long. I only took my small purse.
So to answer your question about bags, that doesn’t apply. You should be able to take the public bus to the Westin and catch the Catamaran from there. I hope that helps! Enjoy.

How accessible is the catamaran for rum point bbq sail? We have two grandmas with bad knees and hips, they can no longer get on/off regular boats.
Written June 18, 2018
Jacey B: the catamarans are quite friendly to get on and off. There are small steps or ramps on either end and crew are always able to assist. It is about 100 yards down the dock to the beach. If they are able to go slow they should be fine, but if that distance poses a problem you might want to reconsider making the trip.
Written June 19, 2018
I want to book the breakfast tour at 7:30 to Sting Ray City, but we arrive on the Carnival Breeze at 7am. Would we be able to make it in time?
Written May 31, 2018
I am afraid not. By the time the ship anchors and people are off there will not be time to get to the boat on time for departure.
