We were so very pleased with our choice to book a half day tour with Kelly on our trip to Anegada. He is a knowledgeable local that shared with us his personal experiences of living on the Island. The major bonus was the fact that he caught our group 3 fresh lobster that he cleaned and prepped for us to bbq on our boat that evening. He also caught us a fresh conch which we made a delicious conch ceviche salad!! OMG so delicious.
I would highly recommend Kelly to anyone wanting to have a once in a lifetime experience while visiting Anegada.

We wanted to see Conch Island but didn't have a lot of time to do so because we planned to tour all of Anegada on motor scooters. We booked the scooters for the day and returned to our chartered yacht at 2:45. Kelly picked us up right from our yacht at 3 for a 2-hour sea tour. We headed out to Conch Island where the mounds of conch shells have made somewhat of a reef for the fish. We saw a shark and a ray on the way and many small colorful fish while snorkeling there. Kelly also took us to see the flock of flamingos and then we did a float snorkel over part of the reef. Kelly dropped us off at one end and we floated with the current over the reef to see the "big fish" while Kelly moved the boat ahead to pick us up. He then dropped us back at our boat. It was a great way to end our afternoon on Anegada!

We spent a wonderful half a day with Kelly doing the full tour and lobster hunt. His knowledge of the local area was extensive and having him guide us with our snorkeling sessions really made the trip. We even caught dinner on the reef so the day could not have gone better. The area is pristine in a way that is hard to describe until you see it and having spent several weeks in BVI this is one of those places you would return to. Kelly will give you a great excursion and you will come away with an understanding of why the locals on Anegada live there. If you are going to the island and don't make time for this trip you are really missing out. We will be back the next time come we come for sure.

If you take money before the customer arrives then do what you advertise. Do not double book and then send a second group off on an small boat out into a rough sea and decide not to bother with the land part of the tour. €450 was paid by a group of 5 for an experience that I would advise you not to take unless you pay on your return and make sure you get what is advertised as there is NO after sales service by Kelly's land and sea tours.

We spent a wonderful afternoon with Capt. Kelly and his mate, Thomas, out on the waters of Anegada. We saw the flamingos and then visited Conch Island and got some of its history. The next stop was near the reef where we searched for lobsters. Capt. Kelly was the only successful one! Next, we dove for conch, and finally, we had an amazing time snorkeling around the reef.
Capt. Kelly prepared fresh conch ceviche for us to enjoy onboard his boat. Delicious!! On our return, we stopped again at Conch Island to add our shells to the pile.
Capt. Kelly and Thomas were both very aware of our safety while snorkeling. They gave us information about living on the island and also about Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
Capt. Kelly cleaned the lobsters for us and we were able to enjoy them that evening on our boat! This trip was definitely a highlight of our visit to the BVIs!

This trip was amazing! We started with one of the best snorkeling sites I have ever seen. Be sure to bring an underwater camera. After a good long snorkel, we were off to hunt for lobsters! We stopped at two sites and were able to catch 7 lobsters. Finally, we stopped at flamingo island and conch island. Both beautiful places to see. Kelly is fun and personable, and made sure the cooler was stocked with beer and water. Tour was 4 hours, and picked us up right from where our catamaran was docked. Tour was 4 hours and very reasonably priced for the value! I cannot recommend this tour enough!!

Have a local take you up there as there are a lot of shallows to navigate. Was quite a ways out, but very much worth the trip. Sting rays everywhere. Went for a quick snorkel too. So many juvenile fish of every kind. What a treat!

The concierge where we were staying recommended Kelly and organized this trip for us and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip (we went in Feb. 2019 but only just remembered that I never wrote a review!). We went with another couple and had a great time snorkeling with Kelly, especially since he got us a lobster to take back and have for dinner! He showed us conch island and had us try some raw, and overall organized a great day for us across both the land and water sights. We all had such a great time that we wouldn't hesitate to do it again, or even consider staying on Anegada next time we return. Thank you Kelly!

How much was the half day tour of Horseshoe Reef with Captain Kelly. And can tourist actually catch Lobster on their own or do they need a fishing license?

I do not recall the exact price but approx 50 per person I believe. Yes you can catch lobsters if you can find one and have a glove to pull it out of the reef.
Can you walk to Horseshoe reef from the ferry landing? Or can we arrange to get a ride?

You can walk or ask to be picked up. Contact kelly to discuss it.
Can you snorkel safely without a guide. Is there a restaurant nearby? Is the reef accessible close to the beach?

The reef surrounds Anegada and there are decent places to snorkel along the north shore. There are many restaurants in the main bay and a few scattered along the north shore beaches. the best snorkeling is probably at Flash of Beauty and my favorite restaurant is Potters by the Sea. It can be rough on the north shore however which is what makes Kellys tours so amazing. he takes you by boat to the south side of the reef which is not accessible by land and is usually more sheltered.
