About Speedy's
Speedy's is the number one ferry company in the BVI's and provides reliable transportation service to the British Virgin Islands. The optimum in inter island ferry service also offers convenient choices in car rentals, taxis and safari tours for transportation around serene and tranquil Virgin Gorda. Speedy's friendly and efficient service coupled with our top of the line ferries and vehicles are just some of the reasons you should make us your company of choice for your island adventure or day to day commute. Edwin (a.K.A. Speedy) and Nidia George started business in the early 1960's with only one taxi cab. Then, from their front yard, they started Virgin Gorda's first driving school. In the late 60's, they imported three mini mokes for rental, and in 1974 the first safari bus was taking visitors on Island Tours. Speedy's first ferry, 'Adventure', did a variety of ferry runs. It offered a weekly shopping trip to St. Thomas, acted as a 'Water Ambulance', and performed Coast Guard rescues. Since then Speedy's has grown steadily and now offers a wide range of car/Jeep rentals and operate a busy fleet of Safari Buses. Newer bigger ferries have joined the fleet ensuring a comfortable and reliable inter island scheduled service. Still very much a family business, Speedy's continue to give the same friendly and efficient service as always.

Speedy's is the easiest way to get to the Virgin Gorda Baths from a cruise ship. The ferry pier is not far from the ship and the staff is friendly. They take you on the ferry and load everyone directly on a transport "bus" to take you to the National Park where the baths are located. Easy and fun. I suggest getting up early and taking the first ferry because the return times are not plentiful. You want to make sure you have enough time to get back to the ship.

The ferry experience was rushed with minimal staff interaction. No music, just a transfer to the safari vehicles . The vehicles were crammed to fit every person possible. It was like a cattle call. Time allotted for swimming at the beach was 15 minutes. The tour was about 30 minutes, and 15 minutes at the end to swim or have a drink before you got back on the stuffed vehicles. The baths were gorgeous, but had very little time to experience them. It seemed more about getting every $$$ they could than making it an enjoyable experience.

We are sorry you didn't find our excursion to The Baths satisfactory enough. Our excursions start at 9am or 10:40am ferry departure from Road Town and return either at 3:30pm or 5pm from Virgin Gorda. The ferry ride only takes 30 minutes and the drive to The Baths around 10 or 15 minutes. That leaves you 3 hours or more to spend at The Baths. We hope yo make your experience better if you come back to the beautiful Virgin Gorda!

We found the service to be timely with a very friendly and helpful staff. The ferries looked to be very well taken care of. I would recommend Speedy's to anyone looking for ferry service.

Much cheaper than the cruise ship to travel from Tortola to British virgin gorda... 38.00 US return and a bus ride to the site included. Additional 3.00 to get into the baths park. Amazing rock formations, beautiful swim in Devils bay... Better swimming here than at the beach after climbing through the rocks... limited shade, picnic tables on the bath beach... nice restaurant at the top of the baths but pricey. Amazing experience!

My brothers and I were visiting Virgin Gorda on a sailboat and wanted to take a tour of the island. We contacted Speedys and they graciously arranged a private tour for us on one of their tour buses for the next day. We met our tour driver, Simon, who was very friendly and professional...he knew everything about the island, and gave us a fantastic tour! He even dropped us off at The Baths and then returned to pick us up several hours later at the prearranged time. On the way back to the boat, he stopped at a local grocery store for us to shop for provisions and then brought us back to the marina. Simon and the tour was one of the highlights of our visit to Virgin Gorda. I would sincerely recommend them to any visitors to the island...make sure you ask for Simon!!
