I don't often write reviews, but, having had the opportunity to go on excursions with Elaine several times over the past few years, I feel compelled to share. On our first experience, we rented a boat and captained it ourselves, and the boat was immaculate and performed very well--we got a full safety briefing prior to departure, and Elaine was very clear on all communication beforehand. We had a great time!!
We hired her as a captain in February 2023 to take us out with my dad and niece for snorkeling, lunch at the Willy T, and some general sightseeing and cruising. It was a fantastic! She knows all of the best places to go snorkeling and provides lots of interesting information ( interesting for first time visitors to the BVI and for repeat visitors like me!) for sightseeing along the way. She is very capable and communicative, ensuring that everyone understands the agenda, the equipment, and the safety protocols. My dad, despite his best efforts, was a bit seasick and she was very kind and and helpful to him, which I really appreciated.
Just last week we went on an amazing tour with her that included 2 snorkeling locations, lunch at Cooper Island, and a visit to Redemption Ranch on Buck Island during which we got an overview of their rescue and therapy programs and were able meet some of the horses and zebras. It was such a unique and special experience. I was impressed with the work of their staff and loved every minute of our visit. I think everyone who went on this tour felt the same way. I had no idea that the ranch was there at all. Including a place like that on a snorkeling excursion gives visitors to the BVI a very different experience than they would expect and an opportunity to support an incredibly kind organization, Redemption Ranch.
If you're planning a trip to Virgin Gorda and interested in any type of boating excursion, I would strongly recommend contacting Elaine to learn about the various tours she offers. They're unique, small group, and reflect her 20+ years of experience working in those waters. I am already to our next trip with her when I'm back in November...!

My husband and, along with another couple had the absolute best day on the water with Elaine!! There weren’t enough to complete the join-in charter so Elaine offered each couple the option of paying for an additional guest (only $165j so we could make the trip happen. Best money spent on our trip to beautiful VirginGorda!
Elaine is so very knowledgeable of the area took us to the best snorkel spots and eateries at the perfect times to avoid crowds. She is so entertaining and wonderful to talk to. Most importantly, she takes her job very seriously and is very safety conscious without being a buzz kill, we felt completely safe but we’re not treated like children, so refreshing! We hit Cistern Rock for excellent snorkeling, then to Cooper Island for a break for ice cream, then to the amazing Indians for more spectacular snorkeling. Next stop, Willy T for lunch and of course, the jump from the boat. Then off to the caves at Norman for more outstanding snorkeling (saw hundreds of Tang schools!) The last stop was a sheltered cove to hunt for turtles. We only saw one, but spotted a ray and a spotted eagle ray. It was a great way to end an absolutely perfect day😊
Don’t hesitate to book a boat trip with Elaine, we are already looking forward to returning next year. Thank you again for a wonderful day!

There is not enough space to tell you how amazing this experience was...Professional and breathtaking. Elaine is so funny and so good at her job, a true professional who makes you feel safe in her hands. The site we dove was beautiful with so much underwater landscape and LIFE! I only wish we could have stayed underwater longer. It was worth every penny and I will do it again on my next visit to the BVI. It is perfect for groups of 4 or 6 or 8 and would be wonderful for any family or incentive group!

We've snorkeled the BVI many times but this was the first time we did SNUBA. To get down amongst the fish we'd seen from above all these years was a revelation. "Immersive" in every sense of the word. Elaine is an expert diver and communicator and made sure we understood everything we needed to. Once we were among the coral and fish, she constantly checked in to make sure we were ok, point out special things to see or demonstrate the fun to be had with a "feather duster." We had so much fun with her we booked another trip the very next day. She took us to a variety of snorkel spots around the Dogs and to Scrub Island for lunch. Can't wait to make plans with Elaine for next year.

My wife and I were staying on Virgin Gorda for a week and wanted to experience something "deeper" than snorkeling could offer. We ended up booking a snuba duo excursion which means it was just the two of us with a single guide. For those who don't know, snuba is exactly what it sounds like it is; the intersection of snorkeling and scuba diving. You are tethered to a floating raft which supplies you with air and prevents you from going below a safe depth (about 25 feet or so if I remember correctly). Being able to dive that deep gives you a different view of the world in many ways. Life is abundant and busy, its colors are striking and vibrant (you perceive colors differently the further down you go), and, best of all, it is serenely quiet. To me it's a spiritual experience.
The instructor/guide, Elaine, is supremely skilled as a teacher and a guide. She was patient with my wife and I and made sure we understood the various rules and guidelines for snuba-ing safely. I felt comfortable and safe the entire time. I cannot recommend this experience enough for novices and experienced divers alike if not just to share a few hours with her. She is a treasure of a person. It is obvious she loves and respects the ocean by the way she gets excited for things I'm sure she's seen hundreds or thousands of times already. You can't fake that. Five stars!

Absolutely amazing experience!!! Elaine was such a great captain. She was FANTASTIC with our kids, always safe and courteous. She has been in the BVI for decades and knows all the best places. We swam with stingrays and turtles, which blew the kids' minds. She was very detail oriented and brought all the gear our family of 5 (with a 5 and 7 year old and my 78 year old mother) needed to be comfortable. Perfectly sized snorkeling gear for all, noodles and boogie boards. It was probably our best day EVER on the water anywhere. Just amazing. Do this charter, you will not regret it!

Elaine is absolutely wonderful. Her easy manner and sunny personality put us all at ease. She is certainly the master of her art - we felt very safe with her. We did 2 dives and 1 snorkeling excursion. Saw the most amazing underwater life! We saw different types of coral and uncountable varieties of fish.
I can’t recommend this trip enough! A day with Elaine in the BVI, will be one of the most memorable things you do

We had a large group for an island hopping tour and both Travis and Elaine were amazing and fun. Jost Van Dyke, Cooper, Norman - It was a terrific day filled with great food, great drinks, and LOTS of laughs.
We had such a great time that we rebooked for our girls week. We had Elaine to ourselves that day and it was our FAVORITE day. Anegada, Saba, bitter End…. She is funny, knowledgeable of the islands and their history and completely 100% Professional She had clearly logged MANY hours on the waters and knew everything. Elaine was terrific and we would book with BVI Snuba in a second on our next trip. Thank you Elaine!!!

You will not find another professional as entertaining and experienced as Elaine; the BVI only has one of her, so book her while you have the chance. It is rare to find a guide who is both extremely disciplined in her work, and thoroughly charming with her clientele and colleagues. I spent three days with her, but it felt like a week because of how much she shared - awesome snorkeling spots, historical insight into the islands we saw, the best restaurants you can visit for true local flavor. Pretty much anything you want to see or do, Elaine is there with a chipper "YEP! LET'S GO"

Love snorkeling but wanted to know if I could handle scuba. This was a great opportunity to test it out. Our guide, Elaine, is experienced, personable and a great coach. She took the time to walk us through the equipment and communication signals, then took us out to the reef. We were expertly taken on an outstanding tour through the peaks and valleys of a living reef. Highly recommend this great outdoor experience. I'm off to take scuba lessons. Thanks Elaine!
