We booked this 7 hour tour directly with Gary who was prompt and professional with his replies. We were on the NCL Epic and did this tour on Friday, 3/13. There were about 20 of us on this tour that onclude 2 stops for snorkeling, including 1 with a couple of cave areas where you can maneuver in to get to a rocky shoreline on the other side.
We had a mix of adults, young children and some teens who were around 15/16 years old from what we were told. This was an issue, as a nice perk to this tour, was that alcohol was included (beer and great rum punch), which the teens took full advantage of and it showed in their actions. Since Gary was not on this trip, I am not sure if this is acceptable or not, as I am sure it is a liabilty. Anyway, off to JVD and the truly amazing beach visit to one of the most magnificent beaches I have seen. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on JVD, the Soggy Dollar Bar (painkillers and Mahi sanwich!).

We were on a cruise which was going to Tortola. I did some research & chose the Kuralu Too because it has shaded areas and a nice ladder off the back of the boat. I put the word out on the facebook page for our cruise and found others to book and filled the boat about 6 months before we were to sail. Due to high winds the first 2 days of the cruise, our itinerary was changed. Capt Gary fortunately was able to accommodate the change in days. All of us agreed it was the best tour we had on our 2 week journeys cruise. A jaunt over to Peter Island and Norman Island for some awesome snorkeling....rays, fish & turtles! Then the highlight, a stop at Jost Van Dyke for a Painkiller at Soggy Dollar Bar (checking that off my bucket list). Capt Gary & First Mate Josh were very nice, offering us drinks (water, soda, beer, rum punch) , snorkeling equipment etc. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this excursion!

Simply an amazing day ,pure joy in these COVID days. Gary the owner patched together a small group of 5 and we had an experience that will be hard to beat.
The crew Dee, Kate and our for legged protector Tilly on pirate watch, were a pure joy. The crew were so warm and inviting ,sharing the joys of sailing and the history and legends of the BVI. We really did it all Caves, Indians for snorkeling. Pirates Bight and the Willy T for lunch and cocktails. All of this with ample supply of delicious rum punch. If you can find a date when they are going out DO NOT MISS this experience!

The kindness of man is not an experience soon forgotten. Captain Gary of Kuralu Catamaran Charters both earns and deserves your business. Not only did this man work with our group through several pandemic related cancellations but he accommodated our need for an early morning charter. When I tell you he did not have to refund our money multiple times, he did not have to rearrange his schedule to make it work for us, and he did not have to summon the sea turtles at a moment’s notice - I mean it.
The process of booking and meeting the crew/boat were simple. Once aboard, Captain Gary and Hannah were friendly, warm, and willing to share with us. We experienced ample areas, snorkeled, sipped rum punch, enjoyed a private beach, and relaxed! It is clear from his interactions with other captains and knowledge of the area, Our family is grateful for our time, four years in the making, with Captain Gary and Kuralu Catamaran Charters. Cannot recommend (praise) enough.

We were a party of 27 (all family) stopping at Tortola as part of a cruise. We reached out to Gary as we wanted to do something special not offered as part of the standard cruise ship excursion, which was to visit both Soggy Dollar (at Jost Van Dyke) and the Willy T (near Norman Island) with limited time to work with. Gary was excellent right from the start. Gary recommended his Kuralu Too powered catamaran and also suggested working in unison with another power boat company to accommodate our party of 27, and that's exactly what we did.
Everything was fantastic right from the start with prompt and easy meet up. The boat was fully stocked with water, soda, beer and rum punch included in the price.
We were able to make great time and do everything we wanted, but not rushed either. Boat was incredible and so was Gary's professionalism. I wish I could give this review 100 stars. Would highly recommend using Kuralu Catamaran Charters, and if we are ever back down in the area, we absolutely will too.

We had a wonderful day out with Dee, Kate and Tilly back on 15th February. The crew gave us a really warm welcome and were also very informative about the different islands ! We really appreciated the history lesson ! The rhum cocktails just kept on coming and the lunch on board was delicious. We were reassured as to how and where to snorkel (as there was quite a swell on that day)! We were able to take our time exploring the fabulous underwater world. Truly a relaxing day! We highly recommend the Day Dream team and we can't wait to come back for another trip - hopefully to Jost and a visit to the Soggy Dollar. In the words of Her Majesty, "We will meet again !" We are a family of 3 generations (8 people) that went out on Kuralu Too on 2 separate excursions. Gary helped us plan each trip based on what we were looking to do and on water/wind conditions to avoid anything too choppy for the children.
The hospitality really shined through and Gary and Hannah put our family at ease. Everything we wanted was available - snorkel gear, adult and non-alcoholic beverages, a bathroom, and also the noodles were very useful for the more novice snorkelers and swimmers in the group. Gary is very knowledgeable about every destination and was very engaging in tailoring the experience for us.
We had a blast and can confidently recommend Kurulu for families looking to explore the islands with great service, attention, and safety. We’ll be back!

Tortola was one of the stops on our Disney Cruise and being first timers all of their excursions were booked. It turned out to be a blessing because this day on the Kuralu was a favorite. I would readily book with Gary (and Hannah) again to spend even more time at the amazing spots we visited, especially Jost Van Dyke. We snorkeled, relaxed and honestly didn't want to get back on the ship. We have 5 boys ages 16 + 12 (including a set of quadruplets) and they had so much fun! They saw sea turtles and even an octopus and the clearest and bluest water you'll ever find in White Bay. Gary did a nice job navigating the interests of all families onboard. This excursion really gives you a full day exploring all the area has to offer, more than you'd get booking through the cruise and we were back in plenty of time, thanks Gary + Hannah!!

This was one of our favorite day trips ever. We sailed on the Daydream with Dee, Kate and Tilly. They are wonderful hosts! We visited Norman Island, snorkeled a couple times, had a wonderful lunch and a few beverages. We would highly recommend any Kuralu excursion to our friends and family. For cruisers, it is less than a 5-10 minute walk from your ship in Road Town to the boats, but you are not on an excursion with 50 other people like most cruise sponsored excursions. We only had 7 people on our excursion, but we would still have been comfortable with more. We hope we are able to visit Tortolla again soon. If so, a trip with Kuralu will definitely be happening!!

Had the best time on the Kuralu too with Gary and Johnny! My husband and I joined another small group for a day trip. Gary customized the itinerary based on each group‘s requests, but also provided his own recommendations, which was welcome since we didn’t really know where we wanted to go. 🗺
We ended up going to Cooper Island, Peter Island, Norman Island, The Indians and The Caves. The snorkeling was amazing everywhere (we even saw a turtle 🐢!) but especially at The Indians 🐠. We stopped at a great restaurant on Norman Island for lunch. Also, the rum punch on board is delicious! 🍹
Gary and Johnny were both very knowledgeable, helpful and fun! They knew were to go and not go while snorkeling, so we felt really safe too. 🤿
Overall, a fantastic, fun and relaxing day trip - we would highly recommend and can’t wait to come back and do it again! 🏝

No not at all. Nor did we take anything in preparation of the trip. Winds were over 25 knots which is substantial enough they couldn’t do much sailing. It helps to snorkel and be in the water as well. Dee and Kate did a great job of keeping us out of the roughest waters.
