We booked a day trip with Aristocat while visiting Tortola on a port day with Disney cruise line. We don't like mass cattle call excursions and Aristocat was fantastic about that with only 25 or so passengers (about 4-5 groups/families) onboard. There wasn't a lot of waiting around and lining up yet they were very thoughtful about the time we arrived in port and then had to be back to board the ship/

Our captain and first mate, Jorn and Kendall are as good as it gets. Friendly and knowledge, great music, good food, plenty of drinks and making sure everyone was having a great time. They were awesome with my 8 and 12 year old. Very knowledgable about the area and snorkeling was super fun.

Highly recommend! Will sail with them anytime I am in Tortola again.

This is our second trip out with the Aristocrat Crew (1st 4 years ago).
Fantastic day sailing with this geeat crew, stopped at some super snorkeling spots which I admit I didn't do but had a great commentary from the young lads (family of the crew) great impression of a barricuda then delight at finding one and pointing it out.
They also got some fantastic pictures on my water camera of Turtles & Stingray's as I wasn't brave enough to go that deep.
It's a brilliant chill day out with plenty of shade, refreshments on board and a great family to make sure you enjoy the day.
Cannot recommended enough.

This is our second time aboard for a day excursion with Aristocat Charters. Both times we have been to Tortola on a cruise so only had one day here. As before, we had Luke as our Captain but this time had the great pleasure of sailing with his wife Darcy and their two very awesome and adventurous boys Rio and Stormer. It was again a great day out on the water. It is obvious that they know the waters around the BVI and we went to the best places that day based on the conditions. Was a windy day and we had a few rain showers but managed to avoid most and snorkeled around Norman Island and Peters Island. The quiet cove, Little Harbour was beautiful and calm. Sea turtles were easy to spot here. Stormer took us up to the abandoned old home on the island for a look around and the best view imaginable. Paddle boards and snorkeling equipment are available. The catamaran is spacious and in great condition. Lunch was good. Plenty of drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic. Overall a very remarkable trip, AGAIN. We will pick this excursion EVERY time. Thanks again! Kevin and Val Woods

We had a great time with Capt Goose and Johnny on our day trip to JVD. We originally booked the Norman/Peter Island snorkeling trip for our port day but not enough people signed up. Aristocat contacted us the day before by email to ask if we wanted to switch to the beach day at JVD. We agreed and joined 17 others.

What it was: A breezy day with some decent swell and it took 1.5 hours to motor to White Bay Beach. Plenty of space on the boat, drinks were nice and the crew was very engaging. Our boat mates were there to ride to the beach and bars ashore. Johnny kept the music up pretty loud. So this was a party motor boat. The jib was unfurled for the reach across to WBB. Skipper was concerned about the swell for anything more. Once at JVD most other passengers went ashore while we snorkeled off the boat and ate the nice lunch provided. We had great conversations with Goose, and despite the sandy mooring saw some fish and a number of sea turtles. There was a little bit of adventure when the dingy motor failed, but the crew overcame the issues and we departed on time.

What it was not: Sailing. Peaceful. I am sure it would have been different on the other itinerary, and there was an unusual amount of wind. Most boats we saw were reefed. I get it: Road Town to Thatch Cut was dead downwind. Once we rounded the West End, the wind was up and straight on the beam. Coming back was exactly the reverse. So the motors would be needed to make our itinerary. But they were never off and the main was never up. We made the one stop, not the two or three in the plan. Captains discretion on the weather of course. But I do feel we could have done some actual sailing. Reading the website, the sell is definitely that this is sailing and only motoring when necessary. Despite the wind and the swell, I really feel we could have sailed some. Johnny's music was loud and even the Captain admitted he was happier when it was off after we anchored. It did not bother the other passengers, so I guess that was more me.

Thank you for your feedback. It has been taken to heart and we have adjusted the Jost Van Dyke itinerary you were on to practically eliminate the motoring and maximize the sailing. The guests now go by taxi to West End to allow maximum time under sail, minimal transit time under power between Road Town and West End, and more time to fit in additional stops. I only wish I would have made the change sooner to offer you more sailing time and more stops. I do hope you consider us again next time to allow us to make up for it! -Scott, Owner

My wife and I booked a day trip last week, and the experience was outstanding. We were a bit apprehensive about booking a shared charter, as we are not loud, party-minded travelers. There were 25 passengers although it didn't feel like it - there was plenty of space. I learned they limit passengers to 25 per booking. They don't mix cruise passengers with "islanders" which was nice. Ours was an islander booking. There was a party of 8, 7, a family of 4, and three couples, with ages ranging from ~11/12 to 60ish. It turned out to be fine. The three crew were very friendly and attentive. They made sure all passengers/groups were enjoying themselves, whether with drinks, or snorkeling. There were good drinks and snacks provided throughout, and none of the stops felt rushed. While the locations were actually not spectacular (we've been to a wide range of snorkeling locations throughout the Caribbean), they were decent, and for a casual traveler, good enough. One has to keep in mind that Hurricane Irma destroyed much of the shallow water reefs. Locations can vary depending on weather, and there was choppy water and some rain, which put as at an alternate location for one of the snorkel stops.
It is always the case that weather plays into which stops are made. The highlight was a very active octopus in shallow water. The few octopi we've seen previously are shy and half-hidden. Snorkeling equipment was good quality. The lunch stop at Willie T's was fun. I would definitely consider Aristocat charters for a fun full day of snorkeling in the BVIs!

We rented a private Catamaran and had a blast. We were on one of their newest boats. The crew was amazing and very helpful. They were very helpful with the kids putting on their masks/snorkels/fins. We rented this boat from 9:00 am to 4:30 PM. They served us drinks and lunch on board, even served us drinks while in the water. By far, this experience is well worth the price, and we will remember this for the rest of our lives.

I would highly recommend this shore excursion to anybody. High reviews!!

Wish I could give 10 stars, what a wonderful experience. We spent a week on the island but our 2 sailing days were by far, the best! Everything about it was amazing...the snorkeling, the sea turtles, the lunches, Willy T, Soggy Dollar. Scott and Glen were born to do this and I highly recommend sailing with Aristocat Charters.

Do not book this unless you like bait and switch! After months of planning we chose Aristocat due to the tons of positive reviews. They are more costly than other day cruises, but we wanted the BEST for my 50th Bday and our 29 anniversary trip. We communicated this to them by phone and email. We had a private cat daysail booked months in advance for the 10 of us and our guests. We expressed where we wanted to go and they agreed on a fabulous itinerary . The day of the sail we were waiting on the dock where they said to be and didn’t see them. Another Company pulled into the marina- not the shiny aristocat we were expecting - and said artisocat was busy and couldn't do the sailing and hired them to do it! They would not do the original sail locations planned and did not have the equipment promised either ( boards etc) Afterwards I looked online and the day sail from this company ( private charter 10 people) was listed at 1800$ to book! Not the $2580 dollars we paid for an aristocat sailing… I’m VERY disappointed! Absolutely NO communication was had saying it could be subbed off- and no notice it would be ! Just a different boat showing up the day of with a totally different itinerary.

My boyfriend and I went on a charter to Virgin Gorda in February and it was the the best part of our BVI vacation! Darcy and Luuck were a fantastic crew. We first started with a snorkling stop where we got to see many different fish and turtles. Their son even dove down to the bottom and brought up a star fish to show the group! After that, we got to explore The Baths and have a delicious lunch on the boat, complete with really good rum punches. We really enjoyed laying on the trampolines and cruising on the way back. I could not recommend Aristocat Charters more highly!

We had a wonderful experience with Aristocat for our day trip to Jost. The trip was reasonably priced, the crew was fantastic and knowledgeable, and the refreshments were plenty! We will for sure book another trip for our next visit and would STRONGLY recommend Aristocat to anyone who'd listen. A+ experience. Thanks so much!
