I just competed my open water diver course with SCD. I must admit that I was a bit nervous, but their staff especially our instructor James was very patient and encouraging. They were very alert, knowledgeable and calmed me down when I was getting anxious. The entire process was s enjoyable. For our final dive we were surrounded by marine life that made the training journey very much worth it. There was an underwater mountain where sharks, and other marine life swam around us., I was amazed at the purples, blues, oranges, yellows, and other colours that were on the reef. Being mentally prepared to encounter sharks and knowing two to react was reassuring. I am ready for my Advanced Open water course. Thanks again to Mike, James and Jason for opening my eye to an incredible world under the sea. As a local resident I would encourage others visitors to go for it!!

Unfortunately I was unable to dive with Sail Caribbean Divers because of conflicting schedules while in the BVI's. I did find them incredible helpful and friendly. There customer service and follow up to issues is outstanding. Keith

I was really anxious about doing the DSD Course but my instructor, Sophia, was calm, patient and really supportive which enabled me to complete the course at Cooper Island and then do an Open Water dive on the Rhone wreck which was awesome

Fabulous snorkelling experience, was just like being in an aquarium. The colour and selection of fish was so extensive. Great location and no sense of being hurried. Later we went to a smaller reef where we were privileged to see sea turtles feeding and one swam up to us and then dived back down. The crew were very professional, clear in their instructions and very helpful as well as fun, well done Emily, Oz, James and Jane.

We returned to the BVI one week ago and I booked through this outfit as we were to be staying on Norman Island. I was certified one year ago with another outfit in the BVI and then have subsequently did a week of diving in Bonaire. I was diving solo and still have pre-dive nerves so I conveyed this to their team from the start. "Captain James" seemed utterly disinterested...staring at me when I needed assistance with my fins rather than helping me, not lending a hand when I climbed the ladder after the second dive and I could have clearly used one. His "guidance" on the first dive was as disinterested as his onboard demeanor. I don't think he asked once if I was "OK" underwater. By contrast, Emily was excited and passionate about the second dive showing us all as much as she could find. She did not hover but was sure to check on me on the dive. She deserves all the credit. I take dive safety very seriously and in my opinion my safety was not made a priority by this company. I felt overlooked and unattended to in comparison to other experiences I have had. I gave them 3 stars because of Emily else would be less.

Response from scdtortola, Manager at Sail Caribbean Divers
Responded Mar 11, 2020
Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to know you didn’t have the experience you deserve. As a manager, I am disappointed that one of our staff didn’t meet your expectations. Not showing interest in you, lending a helping hand, and not assisting when you expected personal attention, are unacceptable. In fact, these are all examples of the exceptional customer service that our company takes great pride in. Following your report, we had a full staff meeting with our 11 Dive Instructors, reviewing and thoroughly discussing your comments. The staff on board that day were Captain James, Emily, Randy, Sophia and Jane. They did recall you mentioning being nervous, and they said they did take that into account with their attention to you. Captain James can be reserved and at times serious in his demeanor, but I know him to be very concerned for his guests. He is extremely safety conscious and very observant of everything that happens on board his boat. I can personally attest to him never compromising on his commitment to the safety and the wellbeing of everyone. Please know this is not to excuse your report about James not serving you well. I know he is taking this to heart and will make stronger efforts in the future attending to guests. Thank you again for voicing your concerns. This is going to help us continue to improve. Sincerely, Mike Liese, Sail Caribbean Divers
