After doing our research and reading all the great reviews, it was a no brainer when our family made the decision to book with Day Trips BVI for our 2020 BVI vacation. Unfortunately, recent travel restrictions and personal concerns originating from the spread of the COVID-19 virus, forced our family to have to postpone our BVI trip until 2021.
Cpt. Debs was completely understanding and quickly responsive when we inquired what our options would be for cancellation and/or reschedule. Day Trips BVI had no problem cancelling our upcoming booking free of charge and took care of it without delay. That is something we have run into with other companies associated with our trip, where we are still waiting for confirmation with some of them and are unsure if we will be charged or not when those reservations arrive.
But not with Day Trips BVI. In fact, we were so appreciative of their understanding and assistance, we have already re-booked our vacation for 2021 and coordinated with Cpt. Debs for our special day in 2021 so we don't miss out on having the opportunity to meet such a wonderful and warm hearted person.
The booking process on their website (www.daytripsbvi.com) and the communication between parties is simple, professional, and comforting. Emails are always answered in a timely manner and Cpt. Debs' words, along with her enthusiasm, continually reassures us that we have made the right choice in selecting Day Trips BVI for our upcoming trip.
Thank you Day Trips BVI and Cpt. Debs for giving us something to raise our spirits and look forward to during this troubling time, and we can't wait to see you in May 2021 to see and learn about your beautiful islands and ocean.

Having done this type of boat excursion in the BVIs several times prior, Captain Debs far exceeded our prior experiences and expectations. Debs went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. We took her boat out two different full days (3 couples) to visit numerous islands in the BVIs (Tortola, Jost van Dyke, Norman, Virgin Gorda, etc.), the famous bars, hidden bars, and beach restaurants. We snorkeled at several locations and had an amazing snorkel at the Indians National Park. Captain Debs lets your party decide what you want to do and when. She offers suggestions (I highly recommend listening to her advice), however, allows the patron to choose their pleasure. We can't wait to go back and see her again!!

Our family of five (parents + three teens/young adults) took a day-long snorkel trip with Captain Debs. It was a day we will not forget. We visited 6 great snorkeling spots and saw incredible sights: sea turtles, squid, tarpon, lobster, an octupus den, barracuda, every reef fish imaginable, etc etc. The key that made this trip unique was Captain Debs herself. At most of the snorkeling sites she got into the water and led us on a tour, finding and showing us things we never would have seen ourselves. A couple of people in our group had never snorkeled before. Captain Debs was a great calming influence on them allowing everyone to have the best time. I cant imagine NOT spending a day out on the water w Captain Debs next time we return to BVI.

Don't know about you but I hate overcrowded boats with very generic tour itineraries. This lead me to search out a unique operator on the west end of Tortola. Needless to say I feel fortunate enough to have found Captain Debs. What a delight! She and her husband own the business and their shop is just above Pussers in the Soper's Hole Marina. They are fully equipped to make a bespoke itinerary for your group, anything that floats, snorkeling, dives, etc. My wife and I were on the island during an unusually long spell of high winds and Debs was very communicative about the conditions and honest about the reality of a day on the water during such conditions. We had to wait until the end of our visit but the winds did calm down and we had a spectacular day of diving, snorkeling, lunch on Normans and delightful conversations about life of Tortola. Their boat is very well equipped, well maintained, clean and comfortable. If we had gone out with her earlier in the week I can tell you that we would have tried to book a second day with her if possible! Can't say enough good things about the experience and her care that she takes with her clients. Can't wait to see her and her team again.

This was by far the best experience we could have had! Capt Deb was so gracious, and informative, and just fun! We had so many laughs on our boat ride!! we took a scenic taxi ride to the Soper's Hole Marina and Deb was right there waiting for us. she took us out to Sandy Spit island, super fun swim to shore and then off to Jost Van Dyke to the world famous Soggy Dollar bar and we jumped off to swim ashore. That beach and bar was just the most beautiful place we had the amazing opportunity to see in person. We had an early arrival in Tortola aboard the NCL Escape but Deb worked with our timing and made sure we received the most of our day trip and made sure to get us back to our ship on time for departure. I would highly recommend Capt Deb and Day Trips BVI to anyone looking for a fun adventure on the seas. i look forward to meeting up with her again on future trips! :)

Day Trips BVI is a great way to combine a snorkeling tour with some stops at popular spots.
We met at Soper’s Hole at 9:15 AM. The marina has a coffee shop open early and a couple small shops if you happen to forget to bring a beach towel with you.
The day started out with a ride to Norman Island. The water was fairly rough due to the Christmas Winds but Captain James and Alicia handled the boat well given the conditions. Once at the island, we started out “getting our feet wet” at the beach in the Bite to give us an easy start to the day and get used to our equipment. We then made a couple more stops around the island and had a snack of fresh fruit, cheese, and crackers.
After we were done snorkeling around Norman Island, we stopped at Willy T’s for lunch. Willy T’s had good food and wasn’t too busy. We then traveled over to White Bay on Jost Van Dyke for a drink and swim at Soggy Dollar Bar. The beach at White Bay has perfect white sand and makes for a nice place to relax after a morning of snorkeling.
On the way back to Tortola, we stopped at Sandy Cay for a bit of a swim to round out the day. We had to option to swim up to the beach and walk around, but the water was a bit rough so we decided to stay near the boat.
We landed back at Soper’s Hole right at our 4 PM drop off time and parted ways.
Captain James and Alicia did a great job of telling us about the areas we were stopping at and any applicable history or “fun facts” for them. They also let us know what to look out for in the water and were able to point out some fish when we swam with them at one of the stops. We were laid back and they followed our lead.
If you are looking for a tour that takes you to some popular spots, good snorkeling locations, and has laid back hosts, Day Trips BVI is a good company to choose.

Captain Deb Lewis was by far the best Captain I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She was an extremely skilled and knowledgeable Captain who took us to the best snorkeling spots. She gets in the water with you ensuring that you see all there is to see and points out things that you would easily miss. As an added bonus she takes underwater footage of your snorkeling and shares it when your trip is done. Her boat is beautiful and meticulous and she is priced much lower than the competition. I will use her every time I return to this beautiful place!! Thanks Captain you are the best!!!

Just do this, and do it with Debs at Day Trips BVI. It was a magical day for our family of five and we'll remember it fondly decades from now.
Debs is a wonderful, gracious, helpful, and patient host. Having lived in the BVIs for 20 years as a dive instructor, snorkeling guide and boat captain, she knows all of the secret spots. We went places others didn't or couldn't. Can't guarantee you'll see what we were lucky enough to see, but we swam a school of baby squid, sea turtles, a stingray, giant lobsters, starfish, thousands (!) of impossibly colorful fish, coral reefs, and countless other wonders. She snorkeled right alongside us with enthusiasm and took us to waters that were the best "Caribbean blue" I've seen in 30+ years of travel. Looking back a few days later, it all feels like something we dreamt.
Her boat is not pretentious or oversized, but it's just right. You can find plenty of alternatives and pay more elsewhere, but I don't think you could design a better experience or a more delightful host. I feel lucky to have randomly walked past her boat and inquired.
Just do this.

We picked a rough, windy and intermittently rainy day to spend with Captain James - but the weather did not dampen our enthusiasm or the great time we had. The crossing to Peter Island from West End was a wet, thumper but James handles the boat like a smooth limo. We snorkeled at four different spots, sometimes as it rained on us, but the sites under the surface were beautiful! James could not have been nicer, was patient and always helpful. And by the afternoon the sun was shining and we all enjoyed being out on a lovely boat in the BVI. Debs was very responsive and helpful and we enjoyed our day tremendously. Thanks!

We had such an amazing day with Captain Debs. We did a day trip around the BVI with our two young kids (3 and 6). She was amazing with them and let my toddler ride around on her back while we were all snorkeling. Very helpful so the grown ups could enjoy themselves :) And she was incredible with my 6 year old who was new to snorkeling. By the end of the day she was a pro. Debs snorkeled with us and pointed out a bunch of fish, squid, and turtles we would have missed. She knows all the best spots and we were able to get to so many incredible stops. Definitely listen to her advice on your itinerary!

How many hours snorkeling was the trip? I want to book most of 1 day with someone and can’t decide whom to go with as they are only 3 hours or where to get a hotel so we can book snorkel tours. Visited Norman and Bights once many, many years ago when we were on a boat learning sailing. Was fantastic so want to go again. Thanks.
