My husband and I visited Tortola for his grandfather's funeral. It was a very sad time but when we went to the beach it helped us relax a bit and take our minds off of the reason we were there. The water is very clear and we were able to see fishes swimming beside us. One thing that I've never... More

One of the most beautiful spots I've seen in Tortola. Pristine beach with little to no people there. Great snack bar with drinks and lunch available. Perfect spot!

We have visited the BVI for the last 10yrs and have sailed past this gem countless times in a monohull. This trip we were aboard a catamaran and therefore were less concerned about shallow bays. We also were intent on visiting places not yet experienced. As we were passing along the north/west coast of Tortola having just left the more... More

Just by chance we took a side road down to Josiah's Bay and found a delightfully "funky" little restaurant with the best fish dishes we found on Tortola. (equally good and just as "funky' is Kelly''s Cantina near Soper's Hole.) We enjoyed watching surfers catch small but well shaped waves as we enjoyed our meals. We enjoyed the food and... More

Got a little lost driving around the island and ended up at this gem of a beach. Lots of waves, great for surfing or boogie boarding (rentals available right there), great sand and views.

We walked here from the Tamarind Club. It was a pretty beach and the waves looked great for the surfers (and there were some out there).

We only had a short time at Josiah's Bay and wished we had more. Beautiful bay, great swimming. Will definitely go back.

This place by far has the largest waves in Tortola! I expected the beach to be a bit larger but it was still a nice size! We were the only 2 on the beach while we were there! The water was beautiful and waves were nice! I wanted to see some surfing but it was quite desolate at the time!

Somewhat hidden surf spot 10 minutes from the airport. Almost didn't find it from the main road because the sign was so small. Rent a board for 10 bucks/hr decent size waves 3-5'. Bottom is rocky so use shoes but not shallow to be dangerous.

We were in Tortola on a cruise and my oldest son really wanted to surf. I read about Josiah's Bay on Trip Advisor befor our cruise and we decided to give it a try. It is a 20 minute taxi ride from the pier. We arranged for our driver to return at a specific time since this is a remote... More
