At some markets, people are constantly trying to push things on you. That did not happen when we visited this market on a Wednesday morning (it is also open Saturday mornings). The market is located in the heart of Marigot, within walking distance to virtually everything else in town. The market was small in size that day, but we did... More

We rented a car for the week drove around the island and landed at the Marigot Market. Lots of vendors with all kinds of women's entire, wall hangings and do-dads to take home as souvenirs of your trip. The area also have a number of restaurants for a nice lunch or drink. We mostly enjoyed sitting along the pier enjoying... More

It's not all tourist junk here, they do have some kiosk with quality linens and crafts. Make sure you bargain for you best price or you WILL pay too much. If you are in the market for trinkets this is the place to find them. Once again, bargain because there is lots of competition here.

DIdn't have much time to explore the open air market. Vendors didn't bother us and lots of different merchandise to look at. Worth the trip.

While the concept sounds great -- lots of local vendors -- clothing, food, arts, etc -- there is a ton of the same stuff for sale. There are only so many vendors selling identical t-shirts before it runs its course and gets a bit boring. If you haven't been to the island before, go with low expectations and enjoy strolling... Always enjoy the array of merchandise at this market. Vendors and craftsmen from the island offer their merchandise. Many attractive handmade souvenirs. Lots of tourist items also as well as a small spice market. Lots of small eateries surround this market. Nice place to visit.

As we were staying on the island for a number of days, seeing the Marigot market was a fun diversion. There were a few vendors who are artists and selling their own wares, but quite a few of the vendors all sell much of the same tourist products. Still, everyone's friendly, the setting is warm and lovely...so we enjoyed ourselves... More

Walked around with the family. Had a good time, the kids liked checking out the items for sale. It's a good place for souvenirs. Nothing too fancy, sometimes parking can be tough.

This was a great market, our group came away with wonderful local treasures from both the outside market and the shops. Something for everyone, including the outdoor cafes for those not inclined to browse.

Great stalls with lots of souvenirs and trinkets. Some good jewelry so poor buyer beware! We found some very interesting carved hardened nuts from Ecuador and bought a pair of hummingbirds sipping from a plant. Very nice. Bought it from a Brit who came to visit the island and stayed. Back in the back by the bay there is a... More
