My boyfriend and I booked a 3 night charter with Haily and Max over the holiday between Christmas and the new year. We were excited for the trip based on the very positive reviews we had read. We paid in full and set time up to discuss the details of our trip. We waited for our phone call at the set time but never received a call. I checked my email and we had received an email cancelling our trip due to unforeseen circumstances. At this point we had already booked flights and a hotel to St. Martin and we were a week out from our departure date. To their credit, they worked with us over the next week to find a back up captain (shout out to Captain Don who was absolutely incredible). Unfortunately, no stewardess was available so we compromised with a refund for that portion and we made our own breakfast food and ate on land. The website advertises that the boat has air conditioning available (with extra cost). The cabin was quite warm and our captain called Max to inquire how to get it turned on. The response we received was to just open the hatches. One of our evenings on board it was storming so the hatches could not be left open. This left us uncomfortable and unable to enjoy the cabin at all. I sent Haily an email asking to advise on this as the site advertises available AC. I never received a response from Haily...The boat itself is nice and we appreciated being able to go at all given the cancellation, but our overall experience was a little disappointing.

We had an amazing day sailing with Max which was totally customized for us. I’m just getting into sailing myself, so in addition to a wonderful sail, I was able to help out a little and get some sailing instruction along the way. Max let me do as much (or little) as I wanted. The boat is VERY beautiful, large and comfortable with many spots to lounge in sun or shade and onboard we were served snacks and my favorite champagne! We stopped to snorkel (they had the snorkel gear for us to use) in a couple of different spots and Max led the way and pointed out the various sea life. We moored out by a great beach restaurant on Saint Martin that Max recommended and he rode us over by dingy and just gave us privacy to have a romantic lunch of fresh seafood and lounge on the beach! Then more champagne on our sail back playing my Spotify playlist through the boat’s speakers to a setting sun! It was an amazing day and a perfect way to celebrate a milestone birthday for me and our 15 year anniversary. You are in great hands with Max who is very capable based on his many years of sailing experience and local knowledge and just really fun to talk to about his sailing adventures. Hailey was away but did all the arranging up front and Max handled all our transfers in and out of Anguilla. This is a unique VALUE given you are getting a private and totally customized experience and the ability to draw on Max and Hailey’s combined knowledge and experience. We are so grateful and can’t wait to go back and sail again with them!

I know that title sounds like I'm exaggerating but I am definitely not! I spent two weeks with Max & Haily sailing in the BVIs and St. Maarten and it was incredible! They are an absolute delight and so easy to get along with. We ate really well the entire time and even caught a tuna while we were sailing! They always made sure we were comfortable and felt at home. I will definitely be returning!

During the midterm break of our 3 kids we spend 2 days and 1 night with Ready Set Sail Charters, sailing around Anguilla! It was fantastic: a beautiful and comfortable sailboat, unbeatable turquoise water, fresh food, relaxing on the deck, watersports... And they were also very good with our kids: the girls loved talking to Haily and helping her in the kitchen, while Max took our son out tubing and paddleboarding! We would love to come back!

I stayed with Ready Set Sail Charters this summer and couldn't have had a better experience! Max and Haily were the most gracious hosts and made us feel right at home on their beautiful & spacious sailboat. I left my stay feeling relaxed and refreshed after spending time without tv or internet. We ate fresh food, visited all of the hidden gems on St. Barth's and St. Martin, and relaxed on the most beautiful beaches imaginable. I felt completely at ease sailing with Max; he was the most knowledgeable and attentive captain! If you're thinking about booking an experience on the Oryxx, just do it! You won't regret it. Thank you Max and Haily for the best vaca ever!!
