We enjoyed the Seagrape History tour a few years ago and knew it would be a wonderful way for my sister to learn about St. Marten on her first visit to the island. David entertained us with information and stories about the history, culture and ecology of St. Marten as we toured the island. Each stop showed us a different aspect of St. Marten, and there was plenty of time to do some exploring on our own, and to enjoy the picnic snack her provided. David is a very knowledgeable and engaging guide, and we can’t think of a better way to get acquainted with St. Marten!

Our bird tour with Binkie van Es was the highlight of our trip to St. Martin. We are not experienced birders, but Binkie awakened an interest we didn’t know we had. His curiosity about the creatures in a pond or a tree is infectious, as is his humor. He’s a natural teacher and storyteller. As a bonus, we soaked up his deep knowledge of the island and its culture. We highly recommend signing up for a tour with Binkie.

Nasche led our small group on a spectacular tour of the art murals around the Philipsburg boardwalk. We not only saw inspired local art but also learned a lot about island history and current affairs. Werner provided wonderful transportation allowing us to enjoy this experience. This tour was a highlight of our 22 day visit!

We did the St. Martin Philipsburg Mural Art & Sunset Tour and it was great! You learn so much about the art as well as the history of St. Martin & Philipsburg. It was cool to learn about the artists and the stories behind the murals. If you want something different to check out and have a few hours, I'd book this tour!

We hired Ilya to spend 4 hours looking for all kinds of birds in St Maarten. We were most successful. Ilya knew the best spots in the shortest time. She is a good driver ad negotiated some tight spots. We would certainly do it again if we make it back to St Maarten.

David provided an engaging, interesting & entertaining tour to points throughout the island. It was an excellent way to experience an overview of the island south/east/north/west including both the Dutch & French areas. Also compliments to Seagrape Tours for their commitment to & demonstration of sustainable tourism!

David really knows his history! Great way to see the island and learn so much on history and gossip of St Maarten! He also told us all about the hurricane as well. The cake and coffee were very nice as well.

This is a wonderful way to see both sides of the island and learn about the differences between Dutch and French colonies. In addition to learning about the island's history (both natural and human), we saw the impact of Hurricane Maria and learned about local politics, so it was great to have David's perspective. You'll cover a lot of ground in just a few hours in a small group, so it definitely feels more like an intimate conversation than a cattle-call tour. Delicious homemade banana bread and lemongrass tea. Highly recommended.

We went on the history tour during our stay in St. Maarten. We started in Phillipsburg, by the great salt pond, and made our way around the island from there. We made many stops along the way and learned much about the history of the island as well as some about the current events. We also had a nice little picnic with homemade bananna bread, and our choice of iced coffee or homemade tea. Very refreshing! Our group was only 2 couples, but the max is 3 couples. The small group size really makes it feel as if you're just being shown the island by an old friend.

Arrived from our cruise ship about 20 minutes late, but Ilja was waiting for us just outside the port (very accurately described meeting place). She then took us around the entire island describing just about everything we saw (animals, nature, history, local government, etc.). While her banana bread gets fantastic reviews (it's freakin' amazing...we both had seconds), her impromptu photography skills deserve recognition as well. She was able to take amazing pictures and a video of my engagement proposal to my now fiance, atop Pic Paradis (20-min moderate walk after driving part of the way up). Ilja is also a dive professional, and was able to lead us on an enjoyable and informed snorkel experience. I was a big fan of the gear, which seems to be very high quality. I highly recommend her tour to anyone passing through St. Maarten!!
