Toppers distillery Great place for rum tasting. Topper started selling his rum at his restaurant and it went island wide. Now it is available in the USA. Great flavors

Although the beach and water were spectacular and breathtaking, We felt very uncomfortable with the locals not leaving us alone offering up services. We had to ask our tour guide to ask them to leave us alone because they were ruthless in trying to sell things. The island is very evident of all the hurricane damage and you can see how it affected everyone. The taxi service was very sketchy, I saw a bunch of drivers standing off to the side drinking and then running to a taxi to take people back. They tried to separte me and my family (party of 7) in two cabs, we were not comfortable and requested a van because we were able to take a van to the beach. We rented a jet ski and they tried to cheat us out of 20 minutes and made them refund some fo our money. Food prices were $12 for a burger $8 for a drink. Like I said the water was AMAZING and so was the view. I dont think I would go again until after all the hotles are up and running and have more reputable and reliable sources to getting around safely.

This had been one of the best tours of a lifetime that i fell apoun while looking for somthing to do in St. Maartin and Toppers Rhum Distillery was a home rum. We took the water taxi located at the end of the pier. It was $7.00 and a great ride for all day. but we went across the bay then took a taxi for $15.00 to Toppers restaurant. Topper himself reminded me of a total,r cute smiling, surfer from California who loves everyone. Topper took the time to take us to his Distillary but befor he left us he invited us back to his place to enjoy his personal meal that he cooks using the best fresh fish and seasonings found only on his island. Dave taught the most informative tour. Toppers wife started their Distillary and the story behind Toppers Rhum is as unique as their Rhum , which comes in so many flavors , as they say, if you can think of a blend then we can make it and all made by hand and all with natural ingredants;;; The coast was only 20$p.p. and that was so reasonable. I just cant tell you how much fun we had that afternoon. They welcomed us into their family and it was all so worry free about the time, no problem man. The meal that Topper had prepared for us and his special desert had us planning our return again to dine again on his fish. I'm not a seasoning ? heat type of person but the way he cooked everything and the way the heat taste disapated so fast that I just wanted more.Truly. You must make Toppers a place to go and just one more note. Besure to buy atleast 6 bottles of the different types of Rhum that you have never seen. You will kick youeself if you don't. I boughe a Lime/ Habanaro Rhum that I cook with that is the end. Unbalieable taste to mussels and good in Mohitos too. you will thank me. ENJOY and happy travels

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Morena as our guide. She did an excellent job sharing information about her island. The island breakfast with the Johnny cakes was my favorite ...something I would have never ordered on my own but look forward to on our next visit
