Enjoyable experience

The zoo suffered some flood/storm damage some years back, and it shows, but we enjoyed seeing animals we don't normally see and watching many of them roam around free. Nice visit.

The St. Maarten Zoo is really small, but I think they have a nice variety of animals. You can buy some crackers to feed to the parrots and also the monkey's. It is a little run down, but they clearly have a hard time receiving the money they need to keep it in tip top shape. I think they do... More

While it's true the zoo was devastated by recent hurricane, there were still quite a few animals, some of which moved freely outside cages. For $10, it was one of the more fun places we visited. We especially liked that you could feed ANY of the animals with animal crackers. Enjoyed our afternoon here and hope they will be able... More

Such a shame that more money isn't spent on this place. It's becoming shabby. Enjoyed the parrots, took a young girl who has never been to a zoo before, and she loved it.

We were here last year after Hurricane Gonzolo and assisted with clean up after some significant devastation to many of the areas. Spent > 1/2 day hauling debris and donated machete's and saws we purchased to the cause. Went back today, once back on island, still suffering from the losses and a bit sad to see the lackluster efforts to... More

These animals should be kept in better conditions . I feel guilty for visiting this place and leaving all the animals there. I will never visit another zoo again . Its sad to see a big animal cupabara living in a small pool of water green from algae and feces in the old water. The animals should have clean water... More

Visit the local Zoo. See the local animals roaming free. Beautiful birds and other crawling creatures.

The Zoo animals provided somewhat of a treat however, proper signs about the animals as well as a more welcoming environment for visitors (seats, fountain, rock climbing wall) can enhance the ambience. It can provide an enjoyable retreat from the ordinary sun, sea and sand

This zoo is very small. Hard to think of as a zoo coming from New York. It was an easy stroll to visit a few animals. Doesn't take much time but a nice break from the beach and hot sun. A lot of the path is shaded. It appears that they were doing some work and looked as if they... More
