Mostly shopping for locals except for jewelry and perfume stores. A few t-shirt shops but low selection. Caps are $5 so very reasonable compare to other places.

We walked around on Front Street and there is still quite a bit of damage from the Hurricane. Many businesses haven't been touched since the storm and look like they may never reopen. Very sad. It seemed to us that the businesses that are open...More

The best stroll you can do. MANY shops and great people! Beautiful jewels, trinkets and clothes at a great price. Highly recommend this.

Purse stores, resort clothing stores, restaurants that lead to the beach... this is real Caribbean and I was loving it! It's not all designer fashion. There was some European influence but overall, very affordable stores on Front St. for the average person. If you go...More

We walked around and brought whatever we could to support the locals. Still lots of damage and sad to see. Then need help and it comes from the tourist , so tipping and buying is essential. No need to bargain here, help is what’s needed.

Great place for shopping although not as clean as the boardwalk. Lots of vehicular traffic which most of the time is moving slow but as always there will be someone in a hurry. Also the restrooms will cost you 50 cents to use

A very pretty walk, but I didn't appreciate being constantly harassed by the shop keepers. Very rude and spoils the fun.

I was in Sint Maarten for 3 weeks and visited front street as usual. Many stores are open, but many familiar places are still rebuilding. Most stores have a lot of the same items, but you can negotiate prices. If you are staying on the...More

Very busy tourist area for cruise ships passengers in port. Enjoy some rum tasting and lots of great shopping. A diamond outlet on every corner. Narrow street and difficult parking. Good bargains on jewelry, watches and diamonds.

Cannot recall seeing the Cartier store. Others such as diamonds international and Effy were open.

Eating in Sint Maarten (12 Replies)
I arrived a couple of months ago on St Maarten. The legend is true: people will ask you two things when they meet you: How are you ? Where did you eat yesterday ? I had the chance to try a couple of restaurants (maybe 50 of the 400). Here is my short list: Chesterfields, close to the cruise boat terminal. Great breakfast and lunch and lovely service. The dinner offering is less good and a bit pricey... FrontStreet Café in Philipsburg... A small lunch place... Service is quick and...More

Sushi at Bamboo Bernies is great!! Also try Moulin Fou (my favorite SXM restaurant). Their sushi is probably better!
