Wonderful cooking class with terrific food. Dean picked the three of us up at the cruise terminal and whisked us to his kitchen using an airconditoned van. We arrived around 10 am at his location and we finished up a little before 2 PM. His kitchen is airconditioned, well light and very comfortable.

Some cooking glasses are more demonstrations than a class, but with Dean you can be as hands on as you choose.

Dean has a great personality and you will hear all about St Lucia during the course of the cooking class. Dean is fun to be around - very knowledgeable.

We have been to cooking classes all over the world and this one is top notch - Don't miss it. A great value.

On the way back to the ship, he dropped us off downtown. So if you need to go to a different spot afterwards be sure to ask!

The class that Dean had was super informative and tasty. He was full of local knowledge and ingredient sources. I am a Chef in the USA and Dean impressed me with his skills and his attention to detail. I would recommend Cook like a Lucian if you want a true authentic island experience.

Cook like a Lucian was such a great excursion. Dean who is the Chef was such a gracious host. I thought we were only going to learn about cooking the local cuisine but it was that and so much more. He told us all about the history of the country as well as the history and the meaning of each dish. After we cooked all the dishes we all sat down with Dean to eat our fare and it felt like we were breaking bread with a long time friend. I highly recommend that you partake in this experience if you travel to St Lucia!

Dean was very knowledgeable about island culture and the foods he taught us both how to cook. The kitchen was very clean and well organized. We had several different kinds of dishes with plenty of leftovers. We HIGHLY recommend “Cook Like A Lucian” to anyone wanting something different to do while visiting St. Lucia. If you have a large enough group, you might get lucky enough to get Dean’s mother to join in as his assistant Chief. Dean will even supply you with his recipes so you to can “Cook Like A Lucian” and have fun doing it!

This was one of our best days while on our family Christmas holiday. The three of us joined 4 others from our cruise ship and were taken to Dean's kitchen for a fun day of cooking. His mother and brother were there to assist and made us feel like part of the family. We were able to make so many dishes and try many new things. Once the food was all cooked, it was packed up and taken to the beach. There was a covered area with a table and chairs where we enjoyed our feast. Also plenty of time to play at the beach before returning to the ship. This is a must do for people who enjoy cooking, eating, and getting a taste of local life!

We spent a fun afternoon cooking traditional Lucian food in Dean's kitchen. It was the perfect way to learn about traditional culture and history with a friendly and kind host! Dean was knowledgeable, insightful and got everyone cooking and laughing together. We learned how to make a lot of dishes including greenfig and saltfish, creole fish and bakes... all which we got to enjoy as a group once the hard work was done :) Dean made the effort to send us photos and recipes following the class which was a thoughtful touch. A mouthwatering and fun way to spend some time on the island.

I've been regularly coming to St Lucia to visit family my whole life. I love Lucian food but never found it that accessible to learn how to make. I think everyone who wants to taste the island's culture and desires to learn about Creole food should take a class with Dean. He was so responsive, warm, accommodating, and genuine while teaching us to cook a whole spread of classic and authentic Lucian dishes. I can't wait to get home and make them again!

A great evening of cooking.
Dean was fun & knowledgable. The food we cooked was all very straightforward, but really tasty. Lots of it too. And we learnt a bit about the cultural connections to it. I’d recommend this trip to anyone.

So glad I convinced my husband to join me for this interactive cooking and dining experience. It is one of the few excursions offered in the evening — allowing us to still enjoy every sunny day during our stay. I love to explore new places and learn about the culture. Dean is a wonderful chef with a vast amount of knowledge about the history of the food you’ll prepare and the nutritional value it offers as well. My husband was pleasantly surprised — we had so much fun cooking TOGETHER and enjoying the meal we prepared alongside Chef Dean. The amazing food and conversation was endless and worthwhile! Our favorites were the Caribbean chicken dish (YUM!), the fried plantains, the bake dough rolls, and the freshly brewed cocoa tea. Look forward to taking these wonderful recipes back home with us. Thank you, Chef Dean! See you next year for sure...

We had a wonderful morning/ afternoon with Dean and Antonia! Dean was very intelligent and knowledgeable about the food and island he calls home. We learned how to derive coconut oil, make the traditional foods of Saint Lucia, and a lot of history as well. It’s the off season so there were only three of us plus Dean and his mom. A personalized cooking class worth every penny. So glad it came with a set of recipes so we can try these great foods again at home!
One thought- we’d have left bed to be able to purchase a T shirt- and that would help you advertise!
