Absolutely fantastic end to our holiday. I was pretty car sick on the way to our hotel so we decided to splash out on the scenic helicopter ride back to the airport- the taxi transfer (30min- less windy as it went through the city centre) was bang on time and we were first to arrive to the base so we got the front seats :D
Views were spectacular at around 5pm, sunset. We circled the pitons and got some amazing videos and pics. Best $225pp we’ve spent in a long time, a bucket list moment.
We booked it via Nexus at our hotel (Royalton) a few days before and they confirmed 24hrs in advance as they need a min of 4 to fly. Would recommend even if it was just 15mins long!

Be aware that the transfers will not operate after 6pm / dusk . Our TUI flight was due to land at 15.50 it landed at 16.20 , after taking 30mins at least to disembark and the huge queue for COVID screening , basically re doing all the forms we had emailed before departure plus immigration forms which should have been handed out on the flight ,we finally left the airport at 17-45 to be told that we were too late as the last flight was full ! We then had to pay $90 for a private car transfer as TUI would not take us by coach ! After a conversation with TUI reps the following day basically we were told that it wasn’t their fault we missed the helicopter flight ! Draw your own conclusions! People need to be told if there are long delays on being processed on immigration, especially at such a small airport ! My only criticism is this time I booked directly with St Lucia Helicopters, rather than a tour operator wasn’t clear that you needed to sort your own transport to and from resort to helipad or how bag collection worked on homeward journey, this is something that is easily resolved . But I would thoroughly recommend the helicopter service , they helped enormously to sort the problems TUI had created plus after doing the trip from airport to resort by car you would choose helicopter every time

took the tour because someone I work with recommended it, plus wanted to avoid the long bus ride back to airport (Our resort, Royalton, is at the north end of St Lucia, the international airport is at the south end,)
We didn't save a lot of time, because there was construction between the resort and the small airport the helicopters fly from. We had never flown in a helicopter before, but It was a smooth, short trip, the pilot explained things as we passed over, and answered questions. We flew at a relatively low altitude, so could see quite well. The first part of the trip we flew along the west coast, then saw the pitons, the volcano, towns, and rainforest, Our large bags were taken to the airport ahead of us, upon landing we picked up our luggage in a small storage building and went with a small bus to the main airport building for departure.

We booked a couple’s 30 minute flight for $585 through the Sandals’ excursion service. We were the first flight of the day and arrived in good time. There were 3 couples booked on our flight. However, the 3rd couple were delayed and we had to wait to see if they would arrive. Word of warning when the member of the St Lucia Helicopter staff greets you and says that if you look after him he will look after you and make sure you are in the front of the helicopter what he is really saying is give me some money and you will be in the front. Given the amount the flight cost and we arrived first I think this is completely outrageous. As it happened the 3rd couple were a no show and we ended up in the back with a window seat each. Our experience on the ground detracted from an otherwise great helicopter flight.

We booked a helicopter transfer for 2 adults and 1 toddler around 2 weeks before we were due to arrive. Being a party of 2 (technically), we understood that we may have to group up with another similar sized party and confirmation would not be confirmed until after this had been found. Regardless we gave a rough arrival time in the hope someone else would join (Flight won't happen unless min 4 people fly).
After booking we had to prompt and ask questions with little feedback given to each response. Examples include queries about luggage, flight time arrivals and when we could expect to receive confirmation. Each response varied in level of detail and sometimes didn't even answer the questions posed.
Finally after prompting them, less than 48 hours before the flight, we received confirmation that the flight would go ahead.
We arrived on a TUI flight, on time and passed through COVID checks and baggage reclaim inside of 30 minutes at around 16:00. When we approached the desk we were told they had bad news and that the flight had been cancelled at short notice due to lack of available helicopters and being able to fly in daylight. When pressed about why they hadn't told us earlier if they knew they wouldn't have room they gave us the option of a refund or a return journey (which we would have been entitled to anyway). I requested a refund for which we received a shrug and told it was be processed.
This left us having to book a taxi transfer and leaving us very disappointed as we were looking forward to the helicopter after seeing some of the reviews on here.
To add insult to injury, after 48 hours we still had no refund which I then had to chase the company for. They asked us to be patient as they had a cash flow problem with transfers.
After reading some other reviews it seems they prioritise larger groups at the expense of smaller parties.
Overall I am sure the flight is good IF you are able to negate the living nightmare that is the booking and confirmation process. My advice would be to either book in a party of 4 or expect the flight to be cancelled last minute and ensure you pay through credit card and that your provider covers you if they fail to facilitate service.
FYI the private road transfer was 90 mins roughly and 90 dollars. A far longer transfer time but more comfortable journey than coach and reliable that the helicopter.

Like others have said, the timing is way off. How do you take reservations and schedule them and then say “sorry, it’s going to be about a 2 hour wait because we only have one helicopter” What?!? Their website says multiple helicopters, leading you to believe that your time a lot is secured. It is not. So, when you are super excited to get to your resort upon arriving, after a long flight regardless of where you come from, you actually end up taking longer to get to the resort than if you had taken a private car.
Then, after you book your helicopter ride, they tell you that your bags don’t get to come with you. They’ll be driven to your hotel at a later time. They told us 6pm, they arrived at 8pm. Do not leave any valuables in your big suitcase because they will be out of your sight for hours. Bring a change of clothes and anything you may need after checking into your hotel with you in a carry on if you decide to take the helicopter shuttle.
What I don’t understand is if you know you can only take 6 people on a flight, and you only have 1 helicopter, why would you schedule more people than you can accommodate? There was a group of 6 complaining and wanting their money back right then and there because they had read that getting a refund after the fact was extremely difficult. They were very upset, very loud and everyone could hear them. We finally got on our flight with another group that had waited for over 2 hours! We paid for the fast track, which I would highly recommend, but what’s the point if you are going to sit and wait in a crappy little restaurant that looks like McDonald’s and you can’t get a decent drink in? The Sandals guests had a nice place to wait but anyone else waiting does not.
If you book this, like we did, thinking you’d beat the crowd to your hotel, you will not! This is anything but a fast choice to arrive. If you book this on the return to the airport, we’ll, I would just say leave early because we’ve heard stories about people almost missing their flights.
The pilot was very pleasant and I feel sorry for him because the people behind this operation are terrible.
I would not recommend using this option.

Great way to finish the holiday . Whereas the hotel transfer left at 1pm for the airport we left at 4pm for the BA flight at 1815. Another few hours on the beach , shame Sandals could not offer a late check out or any changing facilities . Another story.
St Lucia Helicopters were professional and very easy to deal with and the pilot was very informative on the short flight. The hotel made such a bid deal about not booking through them but we booked on line and was very easy and communication by email to keep you informed . Worth the extra few bucks !

It was okay at best. We paid for 4 tickets, however, 2 of our people did not get their travel approval in time. It was too late to cancel their flights so we thought at least we would get a comfy ride...Nope! They squeezed us in with another couple on a 4 seater helicopter. It was VERY tight for 2 average-sized, one curvy, and one slender adult. The gentleman driving the 2-minute shuttle ride to the landing site had a personality, but the pilots were void of any. Poor customer service and a lack of any liveliness. It was nice to arrive at the resort sooner, but we would NOT do it again. We enjoyed the shuttle ride back to the airport much more.

I booked and paid for the trip from UVF to SLU weeks in advance and my wife and I were really looking forward to the experience. Hmmm!
We arrived at UVF on time from the UK and all went smoothly until we and another couple boarded the heli for our prearranged 16:50/1700h flight.
We sat on the tarmac with the rotors spinning for 5 minutes and eventually learnt that our pilot had been denied permission to take off.
After much further toing and froing between our pilot and air traffic control/his SLH colleagues our pilot advised us that we were denied departure from UVF as the emergency fire crew at SLU had all gone for the day so we couldn't land there.
Great communication and organisation SLH!
An SLH heli that we watched depart just as we boarded our heli then returned with six disgruntled passengers on board. They had not been allowed to land at SLU but at least they'd had a flight there and back and were offered refunds/the return trip.
We were not so fortunate.
We were all driven back to the main airport building but my wife and I had already missed our courtesy TUI transfer bus.
The SLH rep agreed to organise taxis for the 10 of us (an 8 seater for those all going to the same resort and a car for my wife and I).
The rep absolutely refused to consider paying for the taxis - 'not our fault so not our problem' attitude.
US$100.00 for our taxi! Yep the 8 paid about US$12.50 each for their transfer and we paid US$50.00 each for ours. Not a great start to the holiday.
The SLH rep told us that we could have a refund or the return trip from SLU to UVF at the end of our holiday.
As we had already booked the airport ferry from Rodney Bay to UVF for our return (I highly recommend FunToSee Island water ferry) the second option was of no interest however we decided to give SLH another chance rather than accept a refund straight away.
I emailed them advising that a return flight was no good to us but as we had spent $100.00 on a taxi perhaps they might offer us a goodwill gesture and upgrade us to an island tour flight at no extra cost to us.
The silence was deafening and I only got a response when emailing them again a couple of days later.
Essentially SLH responded with - we've offered you a refund so take it or leave it.
We took the refund and as far as SLH are concerned we'll disregard you and in future we will always take the water ferry whenever we return to St Lucia.
If I could give SLH a zero rating that's what they would get.

Used the as a transfer to airport, fantastic experience!
We organised it through the excusions company based at the Royalton.
There were three of us and I paid 250USD a head, which covered taxi to the helipad.
My only gripe was that when I booked and paid for the day before I was that as they had a 24 hour cancellation policy, if I cancelled I would lose my money (fair enough).
I was then called later in the day to be told that another party had cancelled and they had a four person minimum, so I would either need to pay the 1000USD or they would cancel my tickets.
When I point blank refused to do that, they then said they would take us anyway.
When we got to the helipad we watched it land and people get off, it then took us to the airport and when we got to the airport more people were waiting to get back on.
So it was going back to the airport anyway, so I do feel that the company was trying to get an extra 250USD out of me.
So be warned!

We had an included shuttle from the UVF international airport to Royalton in ou package but opted to use the helicopter transfer instead. The reviews were mostly excellent and those that took the shuttle complained of a long winding ride. We didn’t want to start off our vacation with car sickness. I booked and paid online with the understanding that the price included a ground transportation to our resort. When we arrived at the airport in the north we were told to get into a van and taken to the Royalton. It was a 45 minute ride due to heavy traffic. We were charged 50 US dollars for the ride. A very unexpected expense. The bus that was included in our package arrived 45 minutes later. Did we get ripped off? Transfer incurs getting from one place to another. Why do they ask where you are staying if it’s not included?

Oh really, we were at the helipad with you & the ladies did handle the situation very humbling especially as you put up your finger to them. We did hear the ladies tell you that they could be accommodating however they were just reiterating that your large pieces which is their policy. You also, did not want to listen to the ladies who were showing you exactly what the email said to you but okay.
I think the ladies are actually wonderful and they were very helpful. That is all.
