A rarity in Castries

There's not a lot to see in Castries; this church is an obvious exception. It's constructed beautifully with unusual ceilings, definitely worth a look.

Castries is not particularly exceptional, as Caribbean capitals go. Most days it is dominated by gargantuan cruise ships in the deep-water harbour. There is a so-so market to wander round. To add some value to your tour of the city, it is well worth going inside the Immaculate Conception Church, which is not far from the cruise terminal. The polished... More

Well worth going in to see the architecture and decorations. Free entry, voluntary donations but no pressure. Felt really restful inside away from the bustle of the town - a happy half hour

We attended the 10:30 children's mass. The children were so sweet and sang so beautifully. We loved the music! Father gave a great homily and a local parishioner shared her mistlelette with me. We loved the beauty of the old church.

We wandered by here while walking through Gros Islet. Just lovely! The doors are open for visitors to pop in and have a look.

Attended a beautiful children's mass here. The people were very inviting and friendly. The church is beautiful and you can spend a couple of hours just looking around.

Beautiful church, you could sit there for a long time and look at all the paintings on the wall. but if you go to mass, be warned there is no air conditioning!
