Just to let you know the church IS very much open to the public. They have services at 6am and 8am every sunday with various weekday services as well.
We visited last sunday and found the congregation very welcoming!

One of the few historic jewels of the working city of Castries, this beautiful brick church, built in 1894, is now viewable only from the exterior virtually all the time. Wonder if they would consider opening it to respectful tours (for a charge) for those interested in this part of the culture and history of St. Lucia?

Like the larger Catholic Church down the hill, this Church has all the essential elements associated with its faith, but executed in Island style. Its a fusion worth seeing.

Came across the church by accident, saw the door open and in I went. It is stunning with all the painted ceilings.

I was lucky to hear some children practicing for the choir, what a joy to hear.

Sadly there was no candles to light, a great way of boosting income.

It was open and we entered without charge. There were a few people present and suddenly a large group of St Lucians arrived for a funeral. We stayed still and silent, hidden at the sides, and were humbled by the spectacle. Until a bunch of loud American cruise ship tourists piled in, with noisy kids, men with baseball caps still on, some even filming the funeral. We left quietly, in absolute anger at the disrespect. I have nothing against Americans, but greatly dislike disrespectful human beings. Go see the painted murals and stained glass.
