My husband and myself visited as part of an organised TUI tour in November 2018. Our speedboat drove us around the bay on our way back to our holiday.
It is such a pretty area, felt very tranquil the time we were there, although we...More
We went on the Caribbean sunset cruise from Rodney bay to Marigot bay the cruise was lovely and marigo bay was just some apartments and a 5 star hotel and restaurant.there was a wee boat taking people from the hotel to the other side of...More
First off the beach is very small as is the place to swim. Lots of locals trying to rent you chairs/umbrellas. Also selling rum drinks and aloe. We stayed for 2.5 hours but really would have preferred a shorter stay. I wouldn’t recommend this beach.
Our catamaran put anchor here briefly to drop off some folks, although I didn't didn't off and sight see, I did like that there were none of those dudes in the bumboats calling out and trying to sell us crap.
Would I return? Yet got...More

No real beaches at Marigot bay. There are some good restaurants around the resort, but you should count on bringing your own fun and night life. That’s what we did. Across the harbor from Capella resort is a little park with a tiny beach. The locals who hang out here can help with your fun. Ask for a guy named “Discount “. He’s a good guy. His real name is Camillius. He and his friends caught us some fresh snapper and barbecued it on the beach for us and also provided us with a delicious salad fresh from his garden. It was a great evening. The St. Lucian people are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They are very friendly. We loved it there, mainly because the locals and resort staff were so nice.
First time visitor! Looking for suggestions!! (3 Replies)
Hi! My boyfriend and I will be traveling to St Lucia April 7-16. I have been researching like crazy, but would appreciate some help from the experts! We are looking for some adventure, definitely interested in hiking the pitons, and anywhere else you'd recommend, kayaking (any suggested areas or companies?), snorkeling (I know it is not the greatest, from what I've read, but we still enjoy it), and some time at the beach. We are looking for a vacation rental, hopefully below...More

Bon jou katieooooooo, Best base yourselves in the Heart (Soufrière) and Soul (The Pitons World Heritage Site) of Saint Lucia. Check out Airbnb properties in Soufrière, Chouseul and Laborie for great accommodations at +/- USD 150/night. We recommend hiring a land taxi owner-operator who doubles as tour guide/designated driver/island insider your first days to overstand driving in Saint Lucia. For more detailed information search this forum for each specific question (Hike in Saint Lucia....More

We are staying at Marigot Bay in April what is the quickest way to get there from the main airport? if the helicopter is the quickest how far is Marigot Bay from the landing site thank you!

If you are landing at Hewanorrah (UVF), it will be just as fast to get to Marigot via taxi. By the time you get on as helicopter and fly to George Charles airport (which is where they land) and then drive to Marigot, you'll probably actually be spending more time getting to Marigot than driving direct - which takes about 1 1/4 hours.

We love the Caribbean but have not been to st Lucia before. I have heard there are lots of gorgeous hotels but guests just stay in hotels whereas we love to walk around/ hike/ see scenery. It sounds like Soufriere is the best place to be able to do this- is that right and if so, is Marigot Bay a good choice? We are looking for a lovely hotel, gym, walking outside the hotel so we can see local life etc, not just sitting by the pool Any advice welcome as is my 40th so want to do something...More

MArigot Bay is a considerable way by vehicle from Soufriere - about 45 minutes or so. Marigot Bay is lovely, several restaurants and bars and small little beach area - although it is on the yacht harbor. In the Soufriere area, there are lots of hotels and guest houses to fit all budgets from 5-star to basic. Several to look at may be The Still Beach House or Hummingbird Resort. Both are on the beachfront in Soufriere and walking distance to the village for local eat and drinks, and to hang...More
