The beach is easy to find off the main road. Parking is good. On a popular day, finding parking may be a challenge. Free of charge to go on the beach. No shaded areas. Bring your own umbrella or rent one there. Water is nice but there are deep areas with a wave surge from the passing boats. Nudity was limited. Beautiful sand. Very clean beach but walk with your own cooler of drinks and snacks

This is a bit of a twisty turny drive to get to this beach. The views as you start to drive down to the parking area are amazing. This beach is a little shorter and a bit more steep for walking on the shoreline compared to Saline. There is no short hike to get to the beach, though. Unload the car and you are right there with many locals enjoying the water.

Return trip to Anse du Gouverneur. We were a bit surprised this year as the beach had some seaweed (although the day we arrived it was being cleaned up) and looks like there was some sand erosion. Still my favorite beach on the island and perhaps in the Carribean.

The beach has no facilities and parking spaces are limit. Arrive before 10 am to get a parking spot. You need to bring your own food and beverages. The beach is hot with no shade so bring plenty of sunscreen, especially if you plan to sunbath sans suits. St Barts is a French island, and you will see topless and nude sunbathing on the beach. The nude sunbathers tend to be in the middle to the far-right end of the beach.

The water is the clear and the perfect temperature to enjoy after sitting in the hot sun. We would arrive around ten and head to the far end to set up our chairs, umbrella, and shed our suits. We had our books, our lunch, our adult beverages and plenty of sunscreen! What more could one ask for as we enjoyed this heavenly beach.

Ande du Gouverneur is a beautiful beach with sugar sand, nice surf, and has 2 sections. Getting there is fairly easy traveling for us in a rental car on a windy paved road through some nice neighborhoods and has markings to direct you. The initial area is for suit wearers, some topless, and a 100 yard walk is frequented by Au Natural folks. The area for Au Natural has some recessed areas with natural beach plants providing some “semi privacy” which was pleasant. The beach itself is very nice, but has a fairly steep drop off to chest high water. felt safe swimming here.

This was my second beach in St. Bart’s (after Saline). Easy access from parking lot. The day I spent here the water was exceptionally calm and warm. Nice strand to walk though not as long as Saline. Still a fabulous beach.

Beautiful beach, never too crowded. Water is generally calm. Easy and short walk from parking area to beach. Highly recommend!

Leaving in 14 days for our annual trip to St. Barts. Can't wait to hit the beach at Gouverneur!
Watch the parking...you must get there early to get a spot. Exciting drive down the side of the mountain to get to the beach, then park along the road and walk to the beach...maybe 1/8 mile. Beach is LONG..uncrowded...prudes to the left...nudes to the right. The further down the beach you go, the more uninhibited the beach becomes. Cast caution to the wind...shed your clothes and enjoy nature the way God intended...you won't regret it. You will only wonder why you ever donned a suit before!!

Enjoy!!

After traversing through the hills and roadside turns of St Barts this delightful beach welcomes you to it's splendour. As you are facing the water the snorkeling will be better to your right in the craggier areas.
Also, remember this is a French Isle and topless is common. (This can mean gloriously golden tanned mature bodies, not just Chippendales and Bunnies). Note most men are topless as are the fish too.
Seriously this is a beautiful setting and not overpopulated.

This beach has lost a little sand so it's not so steep as it once was. The waves can be fierce but on a good day it's a fun beach to have a dip in, bask in the sun and people watch. Families with noisy children tend to stay near the entrance to the beach, nudists tend to go to the far end of the beach. Between the two just pick your spot and enjoy.

Some tips - parking in season can be tricky so get there early, the estate behind the beach belongs to Mr Abramovitch and should not be wandered into, there's a fantastic restaurant at the main road at the top of the hill above the beach - Santa Fe.

I almost left my short stay on St Barths without seeing this beach but Im thrilled I spent my last day here. This beach and Saline are the 2 best on the island. There are two excellent restaurants, one in each of the hotels, I believe Bais des Anges and Isle de France. Noticed a younger crowd here as well. Yep there's topless women, get over it. Gorgeous palms provide shade and the water is pristine. Def a must see!
