The lookout point above Colombier (head northwest at the airport roundabout) provides a stunning postcard perfect view of Anse des Flamands. Because we were daytrippers from St Maarten, there just wasn’t enough time for us to drive down to this gorgeous beach that’s off the beaten track. Other reviews mention construction noise; could that also explain why Flamands was deserted? With only one day on the island, we headed to other beaches that were more accessible (and equally beautiful). If you have the time, though, Flamands looks more than worthy of a visit.

Not the most gorgeous or dramatic of settings, but this beach is a pleasant setting with powdery sand and moderate surf. There IS a lot of construction going on nearby...our solution? Go on Sunday, when the hammers are quite and you may well have the place to yourselves as we did.

Spent three hours on this lovely beach sunbathing and walking from end to end. It is a large beach and had hardly anyone on it so we had plenty of room to spread out. The only downside was there is quite a bot of building work going on to properties just off the beach and further inland and we were treated to the sound of a concrete breaker for the whole duration of the visit. Would love to return when the works are complete to enjoy the beach with only the sound of the waves in the background.

An average beach for SB. Does have the really good Cheval Blanc for beachfront lunch at the east end. In the middle is one of the only public entries - park on the narrow road and walk down between two houses. About 75’ from the east end of the beach was the calmest point of entry when we were there - and good for young ones.

Would be a fine beach any where else but not worth the trip with so many other wonderful beaches on St. Barths.
