The island of Saba is blessed with numerous nature trails that will lead you through secondary and higher up rain or even cloud forest. On the highest area on top of Mt. Secenery there is a beautiful Elfin Forest that is truly a delight to walk through and see. Most of Saba's extensive trail system are maintained by the Saba Conservation Foundation. The SabaTrail Shop is an excellent place to learn about the network of trails and pay a nominal fee to walk through the park. Again, a small trail staff along with volunteers help to keep the trails clear and usable for your hiking pleasure. Many of the trails were actualy pathways between various villages before Saba had "The Road". The fact that these early pathways passed through tropical rain forest must have made the trip from village to village a memorable experience.

You will find the partially volunteer trail staff at the Trail Shop friendly and knowledgeable making your visit most enjoyable. Tee shirts and other items are also available here if you are looking for some unique souvenirs to remind you of your visit to this paradise of an island that has been nicknamed "The Unspoiled Queen" of the Caribbean. You can find the Saba Trail Shop located in an old historical Saba Cottage in the village of Windwardside near the entrance to the Mt. Secenery trail.

Since my wife and I have a cottage located in Windwardside, we often return to Saba and walk the nature trails. It's an experience that we never grow tired of!

I visited Saba on a day trip from St Maarten to hike the island. We made the Trail Shop our first stop. Very helpful staff offered info on all the island's trails. Maps, guides, shirts, and other things available from the shop. Outside they offer free walking sticks to hikers.

Great spot for information on the many wonderful hikes on Saba. The staff is helpful and they have good resource information. The shop is just steps away from the Mount Scenery trail head. Check it out before hiking.

Do stop at the Trail Shop before hiking on Saba. There is a restroom, water for sale and hiking sticks for visitors to use.

We went past the trail shop every day and went in twice! Lovely people, especially Suzan! There are some very nice t-shirts and really cool jewellery and Saba spice!

Informative and knowledgeable staff. Helped us on our way. Sold a detailed map of trails and towns for just $5 which proved very handy.

I stood around and spoke with the you g lady for a good 15-20 min about the different wildlife, vegetation, the most recent hurricane and the culture of Saba. She was so friendly and helpful. It was the only place to grab a bottle of water before the hike just next to MT Scenery!

My girlfriend and I were brought here by one of the crew on the ferry from St. Martin and it's a great resource. The woman there was so helpful. They have drinks and T-shirts and even CamelBak packs and bladders for sale. They also have maps of the trails which is a great for my collection and was useful on the trail.

I had such a great time on my hike i forgot to stop in and sign out in the book for the trail because I was in a hurry to make the ferry back to St. Martin. On my next trip back this is still gonna be my first stop.

We got great information and helpful tips from the Trail Shop! Hikes in Saba range from easy to difficult, and anyone interested in checking out the trails should stop by here first. Definitely a "must" for those who are focusing on hiking on this beautiful island.
