We had a look at this, it gives you a good idea of the sugar and rhum history. The place is in good shape but a bit boring and only recommended if you have not already visited another sugar museum or distillery

A guided tour of this location is not needed. Everything is illustrated and/or written in both French and English on the panels around the museum. The grounds are extremely beautiful and when we visited there were two different wedding parties there taking pictures. I don't...More

Some of the explanations about cane sugar processing get over technical, but you can definitely get a sense of Martinique’s intertwined history of sugar cane and slavery from the museum. The grounds are lovely, too. We stayed for about 45 minutes.

Not being able to take pictures is not something of this century... the museum is ok but not overly exciting. Some displays were not working. The staff was not welcoming. I still rate it a 2 because of a couple of nice old equipment.

My daughter and I toured La Maison de la Canne. We found it very interesting. It is usually 3€ to attend but happened to be free the day we went. The tour took attendees through the slave trade to the eventual industrialization of the process....More

Very educational story about the history of Martinique and the sugar cane production. The French explanatory notes are much longer than the ones in English, so I suppose the text was adapted, and not translated in full, which is a bit dissapointing. Nice garden and...More

My favorite museum near Les Trois Ilets covered all aspects of rum manufacture, sugar processing, and history of the workers back then.

Your taxi driver might know this place better as Musée de la Canne, but if you say you want to go to the sugar cane museum, they'll get you there. The museum is about 5 km from the tourist area of Trois Ilets and, if...More
