Went as part of a cruise tour and it felt like a filler stop on an island that struggles to provide many tourist stops. The church is a replica of Notre Dame in Paris but is in desperate need of repair. Outside is ok, inside has peeling paint and is pretty sad.
There are great views from the car park and a gift shop.

This isn’t a large church but it's still attractive. We were lucky to have a mostly blue sky during our brief visit. It’s located on the road to the Jardin de Balata. The interior is a little plain but pretty. There's a large parking in front.

The basillica is small, little ornateness, needs major renovations (mold, loose stones, stones need repointing, woodwork needs repair, sanding, varnish). Was expecting something great, it was miserable. Someone in Paris needs to send money so the church can be saved.

Like the Sacre-Coeur Cathedral in Paris, the Balata Cathedral it situated in the hills high above Fort-de-France and offers great views. But you don't come here just for the views. The cathedral is well worth the trip. The interior is beautiful in its simplicity and the dome quite spectacular. Take some time to explore some of the nooks and crannies of the interior. It's easy to get here - take a cab from Fort-de-France or follow the signs in your rental car.

It is a nice stop ones you are going either to Balata gardens or further north to Mount Pele or Gorges des la Falais.

Not recommended! After seeing the REAL Sacré cœur cathedral any other is insignificant! This church in its kind can be acceptable but there is nothing original or notable.

High up on the side of the mountain overlooking Fort de France, this fine church is a replica of the Sacre Coeur on the heights of Paris. This brilliant white cathedral stands out and of course has great views south wards to the islands capital.
Inside, despite the volume of visitors it is peace and tranquility, a very special place unusually simply decorated and heroic dome. This fine enigmatic building, dating from 1925, was built as a memorial to Martinques fallen in the trenches of Verdun and other First World War battles.
Great views outside and worth a slight detour from the N3 road.

Our Island tour brought us to this lovely Church which is a miniature version of Sacre Coeur in Paris. Quite an interesting, well presented building with a beautiful statue of Christ above it’s entrance.

It was part of our tour and it could be interesting for certain people who like this kind of visit. But I have seen more imposing structures.

We stopped here briefly on a cruise tour. The church is very nice, and interesting to compare to the original in Paris. The views from the parking lot are gorgeous!
