We are very glad we made it out to the Black Sand Beach. The hike to the beach is longer than we anticipated. You do have to climb over or under some fallen trees. Wear shoes that can get wet and withstand sand. The hike...More

Not as black as before Maria. Regular sand has been deposited on the black sand. Still worth the hike if you are staying several days.

We live in Vieques for about 4 years now and this is one of our favorite beaches! Although it is a bit of a trek now a days, and not suitable for all ages, it is worth it if you love nature, love secluded black...More

A must see. Worth the walk. Make sure to wear water shoes. It’s about a 15 min walk through a creek and it has a lot of rocks and trees. There are no bathrooms. Bring water.

I fell down because I wore flip flops - this is an easy hike, but, wet as it follows the creek, so wear water shoes or sneakers to avoid a bruising :)

We parked on the road at the trail head. The trail descends to a stream bed that runs about a half mile to the beach. The stream was a foot deep in places. Your shoes will definitely get wet so wear the appropriate foot gear....More

This is the type of place you visit when you feel like a little hike, not just plopping down on the beach with all your chairs and cooler and whatnot. Getting there is very straightforward but is about a 20 minute walk. Follow the stream...More

It's not easy to get to this beach. You have to walk down a creepy sandy path that must be 1/2 to 3/4 mile long. It's kind of interesting walk in an eerie way. You come across a hill with a bunch of holes in...More
