The experience was amazing! The guides keep your safety in mind and pair you with a good horse. The instruction is clear and simple and you’re reminded throughout the ride what to do. The views and trail are beautiful! Our guide Trish pointed out alot of the natural foliage and was knowledgeable about the area. A must! Most of all I’d like to thank Fred my trusty ride!

Elizabeth, her crew, and her horses were fantastic! It was a magical ride along two beaches at sunset with breathtaking views. The horses were very well behaved and were a joy to ride. i would highly recommend this memorable adventure to anyone from first time riders to advanced equestrians. thank you for such a memorable experience!

My first time to Vieques, a lot of hype is made about the Biobay tours, but don't sleep on this excursion. As a 1st time rider and traveling solo, was a little anxious about how things would go, but it did not disappoint. If you're on a time crunch, this is by far the best way to see the island. The guides are great, the horses are amazing, and just an overall great time. Could speak more highly of the operation. If you didn't get your coffee in the AM (sometimes hard to find on Vieques), this is a great way to wake up and start the day!

Truly one of the best things we did on our whole trip! First time riding for my partner and I, but the horses were well trained and the guides were knowledgeable. We were nervous at first but felt at ease almost immediately. You will see beautiful views including the black sands beach. We are not morning people but would recommend the 8:30 tour as it does get hot by the end and we were glad to have gotten up early.

I love horseback riding, and have been on many a trail ride. This was by far the most beautiful. The horses are calm and experienced; and the guides are unbelievably supportive. I cannot recommend them enough. They really take the time for you to enjoy both the horses and the island. My family of 3 will be back!

Elizabeth taught me more about how to ride and help yr horse than anyone. Absolutely professional, instructive and she took great pictures. If you want to ride horses in Vieques, get a reservation here. We rode on black sand beach and saw amazing vistas of the island. 100% recommended. Lovely horses, too. Especially Pepe and rico

AMAZING experience. We went as a family (ages: 23, 26, 66, and 63) for the the sunset ride and none of us have ever ridden a horse before. We were eager but a little nervous due to our lack of experience, but the staff and the horses eased any of our nerves. Dante led us in the front and he had great commentary about the area and was so personable. Definitely wear long pants to avoid any chafing (we wore linen pants and leggings which were perfect!) and bring sunglasses. We just went to vieques for the day and keep in mind that if you plan to take the 6:30 ferry like we did, you won’t make it back. I think I’m a horse girl now.

This was the fourth time I have ridden with Esperanza Riding Co. but the first time I took a private ride. I was disappointed that Elizabeth was not available but went on a fabulous two hour tour with Valerie. The trails were really fun and took us from hilltop views to on the beach. The horses are well mannered and well maintained. I would recommend this company for all levels of riders. I was very excited about the private ride option where we could go faster than the group ride. I hope to see Elizabeth next time!

One of the highlights of our stay on VQS (and there were so many to choose from!), something I had always wanted to do. I had some experience riding, but my husband did not. The horses were easy-going and well taken care of. We rode Guy and Pepe. We were on a 25th anniversary second honeymoon and I booked a private ride. Elizabeth gave us the choice of the 2-hour higher view or 1.5 hour beach ride, which was no question at all. Riding through the water along the shore of Playa Negra was a dream come true! I had a crazy grin on my face the entire time. When not on the beach, meandering through woods was peaceful and serene. She did also give us the option of a sitting trot through the pasture twice and took lots of great photos of us. Highly recommend if you've ever considered it!

Fantastic ride start to finish! Esperanza Riding company’s horses are all in excellent health - I am a horse person so I immediately looked to their condition and in particular their feet. All were nicely cared for, the horses were great weight and condition and were receptive to attention too. Dante was our wonderful guide - he lead us over hills, through forests, on two different beaches including a black sand beach and up onto cliffs overlooking the ocean. The horses are all gaited so the pace was a new experience for me! We had a wonderful ride and Dante was an engaging and well informed person to lead us. He clearly loves his horses!
