From Fajardo: Icacos Deserted Island Catamaran & Picnic Cruise

996 reviews
Combining activities with lunch and drinks and transport can start to get pretty expensive in Puerto Rico when planning independently. This San Juan cruise saves you money by merging a catamaran cruise with lunch, local sangria, beach time, and even an optional upgrade for hotel pickup and drop-off.
$90.00 per adult

This was an absolutely INCREDIBLE experience from start to finish and a MUST do when in Vieques! I brought my Mom for her birthday, who had not been on a horse in many years. Initially, she was a bit nervous, but Elizabeth immediately put her at ease and made her feel like a natural! There were others in the group that were more advanced riders, and Elizabeth did an amazing job of catering to the needs of all levels of experience. The trails were so beautiful and well maintained, we were so impressed! The tour was a perfect balance of breathtaking countryside, sandy beaches, and even included a little trek thru barrio Esperanza. The cherry on top was riding down the beach at sunset, making our way down Coconut beach and Playa Negra (Vieques' black sand beach). Elizabeth was even kind enough to capture some amazing photos for us! Not only was the tour visually spectacular, but it was also very informative. Elizabeth was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Vieques and also included descriptions of local plants, flowers, and vegetation throughout the tour. It was a 5 star experience that I would 100% recommend to anyone visiting the island! Thank you Elizabeth!!!

If you're on the fence about whether to upgrade to a private trail ride, DO IT. My friend and I were glad we did. Our guide was able to share lots of info about the plants and animals of the area, and we were able to trot (and even canter!) quite a bit. Of course riding along the beach was magical, but we also had a transcendent moment riding up over a hill as the ocean came into view. Esperanza Riding Company is a completely professional operation and should be part of your Vieques visit.

Elizabeth’s pride in her operation shows through in the joy she brings to her trail rides. My buddy and I had a great experience learning from her about the beaches and island as a whole. She also made sure we got some great photos by which to remember the ride. You haven’t seen the last of us!

First of all, this is being written by someone who is not a horse person and had a bad first experience decades ago. This was an amazing riding experience and well worth the money. Elizabeth makes sure you aren't just getting a run-of-mill tourist experience. Instead, she takes you on beautiful, challenging trails that give you views of the island you would never get otherwise. It was amazing to see how the horses navigate the trickier areas. It's also a great way to see and spend some time on the black sand beach. I asked for a gentle horse, and that's what I got. By the end of the two hours, I was in love with my horse. We paid up for a private ride, and I highly recommend doing that. It was great to have a more personal experience.

My daughter and I had a two-hour tour with Valery in Vieques. That was absolutely spectacular! First going up the hill to the ridge dividing the island - beautiful views of the see and island on both sides. Then down through the local village all the way to the beaches and then through the rain forest back to the villa. So much to see and enjoy just in one trip. Valery is wonderful - caring entertaining, knowledgeable and fun! Since both my daughter and I are quite good riders, we also enjoyed faster pace at several places. Would wholeheartedly recommend!
