Simply amazing and beautiful! This is the central plaza of the south City of Ponce, Puerto Rico. A must see when you visit the enchanted island of Puerto Rico, lots of stores and cafes to try out the local cuisine!
Nice little central plaza (actually 2--one on each side of the central church). Great fountain. Listened to the municipal band in front of the court house. Two coffee shops (in the hotel next to the casino and in a gift shop.
Took a walking tour around this very historical capital city. Lots to learn about including key moments in history. And learnt about the lives of the famous citizens. Sugar and rum production grew the economy. Well worth visiting.
By nightfall, Ponce's main square is peaceful on week days and very beautiful as it lights up in the dark. You'll enjoy the fountains, walking around the cathedral and looking into the "Parque de Bombas", Ponce's unique 19th century firehouse.
