The beach experience was just amazing. Weather was great, water was warm and the locals are very inviting!
The restaurant’s are luxurious and the Latin options are delightful. For sure a location in Puerto Rico that is a must visit.

Visited Dorado for two nights, great eats, nice town perfect beach for our family of 8. Not crowded during the weekdays, super close to restaurants and the sand in the ocean was super soft. Interesting green seaweed but it didn't interrupt our swim. Great Spot. Not giving it a superb review as there are so many nice beaches in PR

Not really a visit since I have lived in the urbanization (neighborhood in English) that surrounds the public beach in Dorado named Sardinera Beach because schools of sardines proliferate here. Only about a mile from the luxurious Ritz Carlton Dorado Beach Hotel (that beach is definitely not public!) it has a large reef offshore that keeps the waves generally quieter than they might be (except during storms and hurricanes!) It's perfect for all ages with many bars and restaurants serving local favorites. Sometimes large turtles nest on the beach and these nests are roped off and protected as they're an endangered species. You can drive in from the main road #693 and there's plenty of free street parking as well as a lot with a reasonable charge. Plenty of palms and shade trees as well as tables and benches so come for the day. I first saw it in 1986 when I came for a visit and fell permanently in love. In 1988 I moved and am there almost every day. Don't miss it if you're in Dorado.

They are attempting to rent their house in Sabanera Puerto Rico to cover their mortgage.
The property has been empty for more than a year.
They want a large upfront non-refundable payment and they want the renter to be responsible for any and all repairs.
Their advertisement does not include community fees.
The goal is to extract as much money as possible up front from any possible customers.
Beware and Stay Away

I've lived in the Dorado area for almost a decade and yet had never gone to Dorado Beach. So I decided to check it out, and I was shocked. The beach was filthy, not just trash, which one gets used to living here, but the sand actually turned my feet black. The only reason I gave it two was because the water is really beautiful, turquoise, clear and calm. This is how they get the pictures to look so nice, if they only turned around and showed what the beach looked like you would get a more honest picture. And speaking of pictures, the pictures posted here claiming to be Dorado Beach are in fact of the man made beach at Embassy Suites. Not one of those pics is of the actual public beach in Dorado. The facilities were just nasty filthy and most of the toilets were out of order. It's in terrible condition and is in dire need of renovation. I hope something gets done because frankly, it's embarassing. Go to Cerro Gordo, in Vega Alta. It's less than 4 miles from this beach and a world away in quality. Head west on the 693, make a right at the Texaco, follow that road to the end go right and your there.

We've lived in Dorado for months and have been to every beach except the one in the town we live in. My husband and I walked onto this beach and right back off.
1) Parking is horrendous (warning: Just because you pay for parking, does not mean you will get a spot.)
2) The beach itself is nasty filthy
3) That filth definitely flowed into the water
4) There were two giant lifted speaker trucks (common here), each trying to be louder than the other.
5) As if the speaker trucks were not enough, every person had their own individual music, each trying to be louder than each other playing from their cars.
That's about all we saw before left :/

It's a beautiful beach but being a local and knowing what Puerto Rico has to offer its not the best. Upside it has $4 all day parking with a variety of dining options. It's pretty long so it's a good jog/walk along the beach. It's... okay

Living in Dorado, very close to this beach I am very partial. However, I can describe objectively this beach. It is one of the best beaches around. Huge parking area, showers, a lot of places to eat and drink right in front and an open sea area as well as several protected by breakers.
Tip: with low tide if you walk eastbound right behind the Villas de Playa I condos you can walk over the reef, like walking on water. And if you walk westbound you'll get to Dorado Beach Ritz Resort. Get plenty of sunscreen!
If I remember correctly there's is a small fee for the parking, but there's free entrance to the "balneario".

Visited Dorado Beach a few times during our stay in Puerto Rico. The beach is beautiful, it has plenty of space and is really calm. Due to Hurricane Maria parking can be hard to find, but it did not take us that much to find one. There is also several restaurants and bars if you want to grab a bite while at the beach.

An amazing beach with white sand and crystal blue water. This beach may not be as well known as some of the other on the island but still definitely worth a visit. The beach is along a strip of restaurants and bars which provide some added relief while there. This was my first visit there but definitely not my last.

Is this a beach only for guests of the Ritz Carlton or is it accessible to everybody? What should I put into my GPS to access it? I have been googling "Dorado Beach" and it only gives me information for the Ritz Carlton and Dorado Beach Club.

There are private neighborhoods surrounding the Ritz but I don’t think that there is beach access unless you know someone who lives there.

I suppose that if you ate a cruise passenger you could probably go to any beach you like until you got arrested for murder and cannabilism. I try not to eat my fellow cruise passengers as there is usually plenty of food aboard the ship.
