My Mother, bother and I wanted to see more of San Juan before we boarded the cruise ship. I received a recommendation from the clerk at the front desk of the hotel early in the morning and she arranged a tour for the same day with Bespoke. Felix, The Happiest Man In Puerto Rico, greeted us with smiles and a warm hug. My family are the hugging type, so we knew we had been paired with the right guide. We told Felix we wanted to see the city. We started in the city and drove to the beach, stopping along the way to view historic sites, hotels and restaurants. We had a delicious lunch at a place on the beach recommend by Felix (lots of locals, which we love). My brother mentioned he likes oysters, so he and Felix ventured off to a roadside stand for roasted oysters. My brother said they were the best he'd ever had! Felix knew so much about the history of Puerto Rico and current events, too. Book with Bespoke and ask for Felix. Boricua!

We did the 'off the beaten' tour of the rainforest, as well as the bio-luminescence kayak tour of lagoon and mangroves through this company. (It may be cheaper to book the kayak tour directly through a kayak tour, this group just provided transportation to them and handed us off.) Well organized and safe drivers.

We had an absolutely wonderful time hiking and experiencing El Yunque with Bespoke Management!! Luis, Adrianna, and Mitchell were THE best guides and took safety as a major concern for everyone on the trek including both of our boys (7 and 8). The hike was the perfect length and difficultly for our two adventurous boys, and they went on the natural waterslides, cliff jumps and rope swing jumps. I cannot recommend them an Bespoke any more than my kids who are both desperate to go back with them to the rain forest!

My husband and I did a private tour of a traditional town called Guavate. Our guide, Felix was upbeat, energized, friendly and genuinely kind. He made our trip incredibly fun providing lots of history and taking lovely photos of us. We first stopped at a blue lake and took a quick 15 min walk through the beautiful jungle and enjoyed the refreshing water of the lake. Felix shared lots of knowledge of the plants and trees and water. Then we had the BEST bbq lunch up in the mountains. We tried all the Puerto Rican favorites and enjoyed singing and dancing celebrations. We can’t thank Felix enough for this fun and joyful experience. Truly made our anniversary celebration. Highly recommend this tour with Felix. In addition a little fun fact - Anthony Bourdain and Anthony Zimmerman have both been to this fun traditional town.

Wouldn’t say this excursion would be that memorable, we did have some fun though. Did not really feel like a “tour”, we were dropped off at different places in Old San Juan and walked around for about 5-10 minutes. We got off at a beach, and then to some gift shops. Was a pretty quick tour, and the only reason this review is getting a 3/5 rating is because if our tour guide! Getting from place to place, he could talk and entertain our family, and that was the best part of this excursion. So I do not really reccomend, but neither am I going to say to avoid it entirely, overall, 5.7/10

We are sorry to learn the tour did not met your expectations. From what you describe it seems that you booked the Private San Juan Driving tour. This tour is designed to show in a nutshell the main highlights of San Juan and nearby vincities. As advertised, this is a 2.5 hours driving tour (from the moment of pick up to the drop off), and is indeed mostly driven as the name indicates. You only get out of the vehicle for picture opportunities or a specific site of your interest.
Each one of our guides have unique personalities and knowledge, I am glad your family got to enjoy it!

I loved the El Yunque tour with Adriana. She has such a fun spirit and love for the jungle. We spent a long time for a late lunch at the Kiosks and bonded with our tour mates.
The next part of the tour was kayaking at the Bio Bay. I would not recommend this experience if you are an experienced kayaker. I wish I had rented my own kayak there. The group was too large and we were treated like children.

I absolutely loved the El Yunque rainforest tour! It's such an amazing experience being able to hike through and see all the different plants and life in the rainforest. Our guides Jason, Luis and Tarzan definitely did it justice. You could tell that Jason was confident in his abilities navigate the trail and in his knowledge of the rainforest. Luis was an excellent driver, guiding the bus through the tight turns and narrow roads too and from the trail. Tarzan was great support, he helped people up some of the steeper rocks, and he kept people on the correct side of the river after we went down the natural waterslide. Overall their good energy made the rainforest tour that much more enjoyable!

The trip was a home run. They pick you up at your hotel and drive you right to the activity location. We had three guides that were all great but we had one that was amazing. If you can get this trip with Felix you are in for a treat. Everywhere we went he knew everyone. The OTHER tour operators mentioned to me several times how lucky we were to have him. As for the activities, they were great. Body slides, cliff jumping, rope swinging. We even swam behind a waterfall. That swim was very hard and only two people from our group made it.

Had a great time at El Yunje though physically challenging, both Jason’s and Tarzan made the hike seem with reach of everyone despite their physical fitness level. They were cautious, patient, spent time educating us on the rainforest. A truly wonderful experience. Thank you!

Despite a 2 hour commute to and from San Juan, we had a great time. Our driver/host George was fun and informative and a safe driver. We got on Captain Hector’s boat and was treated to a once in a lifetime experience. The water of Turtle Bay did not disappoint with sparkling as we dipped our legs and hands in the water. We had a great time.

How do we prepare for the El Yunque forest and zipline tour? Does this tour include the waterfall slide? Do we wear swin suits for hiking and wear hiking boots and bring water shoes in a backpack?

You can book the trip and if they don’t have enough people they will cancel and refund your money if you can’t reschedule. This didn’t happen to us personally but to a couple at our hotel. They were fully refunded when their trip was cancelled by the company.

It is a really long drive, and driving back at night would be very difficult, as the roads are difficult to navigate and we didn't leave the Bio bay till around 9:30pm I wouldn't recommend it

Hi, I am looking to book the "Bioluminescent Bay Kayak Adventure Tour from San Juan" for an April visit and noticed there is a weight limit listed on the tour page. I am hoping to do this tour with my wife in a double kayak, but I am concerned about this. Both my wife and I are tall - I weigh 195 lbs and she weighs 170 lbs. Could we kayak together or do we need separate ones? How would the arrangement be?

IIRC, there are some kayaks for larger people. You just have to let them know in advance so they set one aside for you. I would give them a call or send them an email.

Hi, good day. I am considering booking your agency's El Yunque Rainforest Nature Walk and Bioluminescent Bay Kayaking Combo Tour. Before doing so, I just have some questions about it.
I've read in a lot of blogs/ sites saying that the rainforest is still closed for tourists. My trip to San Juan PR is going to be May19th-23rd 2018. Will the rainforest be open by that time for tourists?

I did a half day rainforest adventure and bio kayak tours with bespoke this January. I like you was nervous about what I’d see and if it would be open.
I had my tour with Alex and I’m glad I did it. Him, some other tour guides and locals cleared up where we went quickly after the hurricanes and we still had a great time. Rock slides, mud climes, rope swings and more, definitely not for the light hearted. For the locals they can see the damage as they can compare to before when you couldn’t see the other side of the river but for me it still looked good.
Same with the bio bay, I was lucky enough to be in the guides kayak and he was saying on the narrow stream we went up to the lagoon before you couldn’t see the ocean or hear it but again I knew no different. He said before the hurricane the luminescents were at their highest like 80% and they have dropped right down but we could still see some when you put your hand deep in the water.
