This tour by Across Caribe was by far our best tour experience while in Puerto Rico. Our guide Julio was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the history, art, and culture of Loiza and Puerto Rico in general. We learned so much! The art tours of Ayala and Lind were amazing - the tour of Lind's house and studio (including meeting Samuel Lind himself) was by far the highlight. The beaches and food kiosks of Loiza were so nice (great local foods, huge stretches of beach) that we returned the next day on our own. Loiza is very much a hidden gem right outside San Juan!

Our cave adventure day with Nani was amazing! She was fun, knowledgeable, and helped keep us safe while climbing through caves and jumping into the ocean from a bluff. The combination of adventure and safety was perfect, and she was lively and energetic throughout the tour. We all had a blast!

Our El Yunque Rainforest - Off the beaten path tour with Marlon was incredible! Our family of five had a total blast hiking through the mud, going down the rock water slide, cliff jumping, and jumping into the water off the rope swing. Marlon drove us there in comfort, showed us how to do all the water adventures safely, and cut up fresh fruit for us to snack on. It was a perfect day!

Steve, the instructor, was great. Patient, funny, and engaging for about 10 couples who never met and knew nothing about sals dancing at the beginning. Outdoors in a park on the lagoon. Best part of the memory is the movie of my wife and I dancing that makes it look like we are pretty good. Thanks Steve for a wonderful time.

I booked a Afro-Puerto Rican Heritage Tour online for 9/16/21. During the initial booking I paid an additional $5 per person for insurance if tour is canceled. On 9/15/21 I was contacted via telephone by Steven a representative with Across Caribe, he reported that the tour driver tested positive for COVID, as a result the tour would be rescheduled for Sunday 9/19 or Monday 9/20. I agreed to the terms. On Saturday 9/18, I called Steven and he confirmed the tour could not be rescheduled and agreed to refund the total amount paid $181.75. I followed up with a call on 9/20 advising him a refund was not posted or showing, the caller was not available a voicemail was left. I was satisfied with the tour being canceled for safety reasons, however the refund and follow up was not professional and unappreciated.

If you have found Giancarlos for your personal Puerto Rico Tour Guide; you are blessed and look no further.
On 3/27/23 we were honored to see Puerto Rico through the eyes of a Local,
Tour Guide, Giancarlos.
He met us on time at the designated spot. With a smile and a sense of joy & the adventure ahead. We were given the opportunity to design our Tour. As Seniors, our interest included exploring the Spanish colonial architecture and famous century old buildings . Fascinating !! Most amazing was his grasp of Puerto Rico’s rich 500 years of history which taught us how the unique different cultures were blended to form this unique PR Island.
He wove the stories of the Taíno, African & the Spanish . And showed how their traditions & interactions lead to this unique melting pot.
He carefully drove us to the iconic locations including the San Felipe del Morro castle, Calle Loíza street & the best beaches . We experienced the delicious savory dishes of the island. And we also experience the sounds & dance moves rooted in African heritage.

Words can not express our gratitude to Giancarlos for sharing his beautiful Island of Puerto Rico with us. In full disclosure meeting Giancarlos was the best part of our Holiday. We are looking forward to returning to Puerto Rico soon & spending more time touring Puerto Rico with Giancarlos. Bravo. Well Done.

Was a fun experience.. But started late as the guide had issues connecting his phone to the speaker.. And only then had 30 mins of the expected 1hour...

Fun time was had by all.. But left a little dissapointed.

If all goes to plan and you get your hour class, I would definitely recommend doing it.

1 star because it's not possible to write a review for no stars! Booked a small group tour online, called to confirm our booking & was told there were enough people & tour would happen... great. Waited at the front of our hotel for almost 2 hours from 8:50am (9am pick up) & no one showed up. We tried to call them at 9:30am to confirm but no answer. Left a message a few mins later. Still no one called us back. We are still trying to get through to them in the afternoon to make sure we are refunded! Thankfully our hotel got us an amazing private tour after seeing us let down by this one. Highly recommend Tony at Countrysidetours. We had a blast; turned out to be a great day of touring, no thanks to Across Caribe!!

We took the El Yunque and Bio Bay tour today and it was the best day ever from beginning to end! What a truly magical and unique experience! Booking was easy and very fast, we got an email back within 20 min and had everything set in under an hour. We had guides Manuel and Jamie who were great. Manuel made the effort to make a personal connection with each person in our group. Jamie was fun and easy going, nice to talk to. The food was very good at the restaurant we stopped at, I think it was called Ocean View. I'm so happy to have made such a nice memory here in San Juan. Two of my favorite memories of the day were swimming in the natural pool at the waterfall while watching the locals cliff jump and swimming in the bio bay under the stars. Gosh it was just so great! Tip: get water shoes with a good sneakers sole, we had cheap ones and they were slippery in the rainforest.

When I scheduled the adventure, there were only a couple of reviews and although they were 5 star reviews they didn't let me know what to expect. After our smoothie at the local market and we arrived for the "easy" climb to the first waterfall, Arturo continually let me know, that it would be worth it. That first waterfall was fantastic. We lazed in the pool below the falls for 30 minutes cooling off and just watching the spectacle. After the second climb (tough) to the upper falls (even prettier) and back cown to the car, we headed through local towns to arrive at the Loquillo restaurants. The ceviche was really good, even better with the red hot sauce that was available. I want to return to try some of the other 60 +/- restaurants on the strip. then off to bio bay. All I know was that it was called bio bay and that we would be swimming in a bay on boogie boards. I had no idea what was in store. The hike was about a mile or so along the beach and then into the bay. Arturo kept telling us that the hike would be totally worth it. he figured out that we didn't know what was coming and he didn't tell us. When I lay down in the bay on the board and took the first paddle (with my daughter (35 yo) and her daughter (13yo) we were astounded about the bioluminescence. It was fantastic. The water looked like it was a dark night and stars were shining. I actually looked up in the sky the first time to see if it was stars reflecting. There were some kayaks paddling, but not swimming in the water. If you can take a trip with Adventures PR and swim in the bio bay, It is 1000% better. The next day I looked up the biobay and found a lot of people disappointed with kayak trips. I am a physician and an outdoorsman (in my younger days) and I really appreciated everything that Arturo provided. He is educated (BS in biology and Masters in business admin), intelligent, and super friendly. Part of the time I practiced my Spanish and part of the time we switched to English. It was a super fun time. I plan to return with other of my childern and take the same tour again. I will stay in the lower pool while Arturo takes them to the upper pool, though. At 72 yo, I was pleasantly beat at the end of the day.

if you want to see the bioluminescent bay at Fajardo (near San Juan) as it SHOULD be, you need to book with Adventure PR! Our guide, Arturo, was very friendly (in a relaxed, open kind of way-not like "I desperately need your money"), knowledgeable and flexible. It was just us 4 family plus him, and he was very focused on making our Rainforest-Biobay adventure unforgettable and fun for us.
We hope we didn't do any harm to the dinoflagellates by getting in the water with them, but it is DEFINITELY the way to experience the bioluminescence! We were so happy that we weren't in a big, noisy group of obnoxious "turistas" in kayaks. We could see them and hear them, but they were far enough away not to bother us.
Both at El Yunque and the Biobay, Arturo took us to great spots where there were very few other people, but the natural experience was fantastic! If we are ever able to return to Puerto Rico, I will definitely book another trip with Adventure PR. They are not the cheapest, or the most luxurious, company that runs tours to El Yunque and the Fajardo Biobay, but they provided a wonderful experience at an excellent value! It was like having a good friend who is a local and doesn't mind showing you the best of outdoor Puerto Rico (plus some awesome roadside food)!
Last but not least, booking with Cindy was terrific! She was very helpful and easy to work with, and won't steer you wrong. I was skeptical about booking a Biobay tour during an almost full moon, but she said our guide would make sure we still had a great experience, and she was right! Plus, the cost of our tour included door-to-door transportation from our hotel.
