This is a beautiful historic park and is the only park on the island. The park has been cleaned of debris and restored after Hurricane Maria, and to me seems to have been restored to a level of splendor that it had not enjoyed in...More
This park is well equipped and wonderful for taking children. It is centrally located close to OSJ and the Condado area as well as steps away from Escambron beach.
I highly recommend visiting if you have kids and find yourself in the area.
My wife and I along with her brother Michael and sister-in-law Barbara visited the Munoz Rivera Park while driving to the Candado Lagoon for kayaking and paddleboarding in San Juan last week. The park is beautifully maintained and features many statues of famous Puerto Rican...More
Muñoz Rivera Park, is conveniently located between the Old San Juan, Condado Area, and Convention Center Area. Half a mile safe walk to Condado Area, and half a mile to the Old San Area. There are many food kiosks and trucks, fountains, bike and walking...More
Just west of the Condado area on your way to Old San Juan, it's easy to miss this beautiful park with statues of many Latin American figures, and some very old buildings. It's a nice open space that could use a little more TLC, but...More
We took a stroll in this beautiful park that is close to el Condado at the entrance to old San Juan. It's a park that resembles a European type. Its very close to el Escambron and the Caribe Hilton hotel. It is an urban oasis.

Sorry to say, but no; there are no grill on the area. However, there are food trucks near the beach across the bridge. Across the street there is a fast food rest. ( I think it is a KFC, not sure.). Another area is Isla Verde Beach ( Carolina Beach), they do have gazebos areas that you can rent for a day, and bring your own BBQ, chairs, etc, etc. Another fantastic place, for a large group like yours, is Parque Nacional Isla de Cabras ( Goats Island ) the place is safe, ( they have a page in FB). Not really far from the Metro Area ( not more than 1/2 hr). There are gazebos, and larger lunching areas, they rent for a day ( starting a $ 25.00 up ) . There is a fast food local rest in the area. The view from the Old San Juan is FANTASTIC!!!! A place I love for this kind of group activities with children, besides Luis Munoz Rivera Park, is Parque Luis Munoz Marin, right in SJ metro area ( 787-763-0568) . All these places have paying parking lots. You can go to DRN page , or Parques Nacionales de Puerto Rico, or call (787) 788-0440. They are open from Wed. until Sundays, and holidays. ( On Sundays. all beach areas, get very crowded). Hope this inf. is helful. Enjoy your day!
