Andres and Atabey Tours are world class. I give this tour service the highest possible recommendation. I met Andres, out of chance, watching a sunset by the Castillo San Felipe del Morro. We talked for 30 minutes or so about life, music, meditation, etc, and then and caught dinner at a local Puerto Rican staple. It was a genuine human connection. Andres told me that he has a tour business that takes people all over the island of Puerto Rico to connect them with the land and with themselves. Fast forward to three days later. Andres picked me up from my hostel in San Juan and we drove into the heart of El Yunque National Forest to commune with Mother Nature, or as the native Taino people of Puerto Rico call her: "Atabey." Prior to entering the Forest, we stopped at an organic cafe and had delicious kombucha and veggie burgers and then rode into the lush forest. We spent a few hours hiking through this beautiful, mystic, misty rainforest and talking about life, love, loss, and the passing of time. The peak of this experience was a storybook perfect waterfall. We bathed in its waters and meditated in front of it. It was a magical experience. Andres isn't just running a tour company, he's running a conscious business that seeks to connect us with this beautiful planet we live on. Andres is a wonderful human being who exudes friendliness, kindness, and compassion. He also holds very deep knowledge and passion for the island of Puerto Rico. He is as close to the perfect guide as you could ask for. Take a tour with Atabey Tours without any hesitation.

Andres is amazing and this secluded hike was a ton of fun. The hike itself was not hard, but prepared to get muddy and wet and tired (in a good way). I took my 3 daughters (17, 15, 12) and it was perfect for all of us (not sure I'd take anyone much younger unless they were very active/adventurous). We did a cliff dive and then swam to a waterfall. We hiked to another steam and did a mud bath and then washed it off in another waterfall. The tour ended with a stop at an amazing (and cheap) local place for a late lunch. Andres clearly loves Puerto Rico and is extremely knowledgable.

Many thanks to Andres for a fantastic hike in this secluded, practically untouched area of the rainforest. Our group ranged in age from six to sixty-eight and Andres kept a steady pace, making sure we got our pictures and accommodating those of us who wanted to cliff dive and swim to the waterfall and those who preferred to wade in the shallow areas of water. It's worth mentioning that while the distance to the waterfall isn't too far from the starting point, the terrain itself can be challenging with a few steep climbs, slippery passages, and and some navigating over rocks and boulders. A casual or elderly hiker might want to bring hiking poles along for the ride. This was an excellent experience our family will remember for years to come. Thank you, Andres!

Met Andres in a chance meeting doing yoga. He is just one of those unique people in the world that exudes enthusiasm and a love of life. After learning he was a guide in PR my wife and I, who were in Dorado celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, looked him up on TripAdvisor. We saw all the wonderful reviews. The only problem is all the reviews can't do justice to just how fantastic Andres is as a guide and what a kind, warm and wonderful person he is. We hike all over the world wherever we travel and this by far was the best experience we have ever had with or without a guide. Andres is such an accomplished guide, host and just a fascinating person with amazing experiences to share.
