About
Balneario El Escambron is a little beach, just to the east of Old San Juan. It is a family-friendly beach, with a small crescent of clean sand and usually calm waters, thanks to the coral reef a short distance from the beach.

The beach and sites are beautiful. But after the storm it seems the beach has become very rocky , but there are beautiful fish to see. So, don't forget your goggles and water shoes.

This is an awesome place to snorkel. Just get in the water on the left side, and you'll see tons of fish by the rocks (the area on the right is super shallow, so not nearly as good). There are places to wash off feet...More

It is a very nice beach on the way to Old San Juan, next to El Caribe Hilton Hotel, but be aware that on the weekends it gets very crowed with the locals.

Plenty of parking which is good for the area beaches. The water is clean and it's a great place to spend the day. Bring lots of sun block.

mmm... I'm sorry, but I've not seen any facilities where you can rent equipment for snorkeling. But the water is very clean and you need only a mask :)
