Many people fear taking a tour outside of the cruise excursions. Royal didn't offer any scuba so we had no option. They were professional and ensured that we got back to our port in time to leave on the ship. My two children got their PADI certificaiton over the summer and we wanted to scuba dive on this trip as a family. Due to a recent medical condition my husband wasn't able to dive. However, the guide was professional, helped tremedously with the kids (12 and 14), were safe and provided a lot of guidance. The visiblity was "OK", and had nothing to do with Aqua Adevnture. The weather was windy this week and recent storms caused the water visability to be compromised. The visiblity was about 10-15 feet, we were still able to see a variety of fish and interesting sea life. The shore entry, slow grade entry to about 25-30 feet depth, and the mild conditions make this ideal for beginners. I would highly recommend using Aqua Adentures and I will use them again when/if afforded the opportunity.

We are in PR for 10 days, newly certified a year and a half ago. I am not very comfortable with my scuba skills & the Plan was to scuba during our time in PR to practice. We found Aqua Adventures at the Caribe Hilton (know that when we pulled into the Hilton security, the bellman or valet knew that Aqua was located on the property or where; however, the gentleman in valet went to inquire and then directed us to where Aqua is). Jai was so friendly, knowledgeable & helpful (she is such a great “face” for this locally owned company), that we scheduled a refresher for the following day. Since we were not staying at the Hilton Jai gave us a tip on where to park for a reasonable rate close by for the next day. The day of the refresher we met Tony our dive instructor who was so easy going and patient with us giving us gentle reminders & guidance on our newly acquired skills. We started in the cool (temperature) pool & ended our dive in the comfortably warm, sheltered cove. Visibility was about 4 ft for us (likely due to the weather), very mild current (nice place to build your confidence) & depth about 15 ft (perfect for remembering how to equalize). We are hoping to book more dives (depending on weather) out of their Fajardo site...will report back once we complete.

I don’t know how to swim so it was amazing to be able to “snorkel” without having to know how to swim, I only wish I saw more things like turtles but that’s completely out of the tours hands. I gave 4-5 because also they only accepted cash for the pictures they took and if I would’ve known that beforehand I would’ve brought cash but instead I had to go to an ATM and pay a fee to get the cash. In 2023 I feel all major tours should have a credit card payment option.

It was ok, definitely not great. During my visit the surf conditions had rip currents and strong surf nearly everyday. I was aware of this when I booked and I expected Aqua Adventure to contact / advise me / not accept booking if the conditions would not be good for this activity.
However, they never contacted me until 20 mins before my scheduled activity and they tried contacting me via text (I was driving to the activity). They advised the conditions were poor and if I did not want to do the activity I could reschedule or "hang-out" at the Hilton Caribe for the day, or I could do the activity anyway. Refund was not an option given. I asked if the activity was still considered safe based on their advice of conditions. Their reply? "Oh, we never allow the activity if it isn't safe." Ok... so what is the caution advisement regarding conditions? It was never explained, but I understood after it was over. My issues with this activity are/were:
1. No classroom type instruction at all (this was listed in the description). The basic instructions were in the surf.
2. I had done SCUBA once, previously in a pool, i would not advise doing this activity for the first time. You are trying to learn important instructions while also dealing with surf/environment.
3. The conditions made for a sub-par experience. Visibility was about 20 feet. I did get to see a lot of colorful fish and objects on the bottom but that was about it.
4. The activity was cut 35 mins short. I was up on the surface and heading in with 35 mins left on the scheduled activity.

I did the Culebra Excursion (6hours) scuba dive tour with Aqua adventure. The trip start early in the morning, we took a boat to a small island near Culebra island (or maybe part of Culebra). It has been 2 years since my last dive. So this trip is more like a refreshing dive. Overall I would say:
1. the dive master is great. He is accurate and direct. He intentionally made troubles, and ask us to answer and tackle. Very fun. I like his style a lot. He really spent most of the time under water while still make sure we are safe
2. We did 2 tank dives for only 1 dive site. We did dive toward different directions. The dive is quite shallow though. But for a refreshing course, it is not bad.
3. The crew members are great. I especially love the captain. Very funny guy. He knows the ocean extremely well as well.

We learned to Scuba dive at Aqua Adventures and loved it! They have a beautiful calm bay with fish that will swim right up to you. Our instructor, Eddie, was patient and encouraging, and worked with us to make sure that we got the most out of our experience. It was fun and fascinating, and I highly recommend it for anyone with an interest in undersea experiences!

I joined Culebra boat tour with them. The captain's name is Scott. I went with my wife and daughters. the boat has in total 5 crews I remember. They are constant paying attention to each of us. When we are snorkeling or jumping off the boat, they are all watching carefully where each person is. I feel really comfortable relaxing on the boat because I know they are watching my daughters too from the boat. When they take group out snorkeling. They have one staff leading the group. Another staff at the end of the group making sure everyone is safe. I think they are doing a lot to keep everyone save. My daughters are also happy jumping off the boat into the water. Also, the boat is clean compared to many of the boat tour I have been. The crew on the boat are friendly and I can see they genuinely love what they are doing. My family is really happy with this boat tour. They gave my daughters a great day that they will never forget.

This is really not a diving site, the deepest part was about 19 feet, the reef area is dead, you see more life in the culvert area. Also, the fins provided are snorkel fins not diving fins. When "diving" so close to the surface the waves can make it quite strenuous to move around with snorkel fins. Access to the reef area is awful, you need to drag yourself, with the aid of a rope, over an area full of sea urchins with no more than a couple feet of water above, so it is not like you can float above it.

Our family had a great time with Aqua Adventure, doing a small group snorkel exploration from the Fajardo Ferry and out to various islands. The crew flexed with the weather and made sure we could do all the guaranteed activities while staying safe. They had lots of drinks and food on the boat as well. Edwin and Anthony in particular were nice to all of us and answered lots of questions!

The staff was great and humorous. I accidently booked the snuba adventure instead of the sea trek and they had no issue with allowing us to change even after we had begun suiting up. The guides made sure everyone was comfortable in the helmets before proceeding with the excursion. Would definitely recommend and would do it again.
