The guide, Marjorie Ana, was great! She was knowledgeable not only about the food, but also the culture and history. Her enthusiasm and passion made the tour for us. That said, the food sampled ranged from great to not being worthy of a food tour. Unfortunately, it was the main meal that was in the category of the latter.
They were accommodating about food sensitivities, which was great since my wife is gluten intolerant. However, at one place, instead of a croissant with Black Forest game, cheese, and guava butter, she got a fruit “cup” the size of a small condiment container. At the dessert place, instead of a full chocolate casito, she received a small piece of chocolate the size of a Hershey’s kiss. Considering the cost of the tour, they could have done better with the options.
That said, it was a good tour and we no regrets.
